  • you should post the tabs at the same time

  • thx so much, i luv u. no homo

  • @uttueveru thanks haha.

  • @uttueveru i love him full homo <33

  • Can you share the tab ?

  • Kurt Cobain was awesome cause he didnt care about the solos nor the lyrics he just did whatever that popped up in his head and he'll always be remembered!!!TO MY IDOL KURT COBAIN!!!!

  • Hmm, maybe these solos like from "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "About A Girl" were planned, but without them...propably all.

  • @OlympiaMusicTV what?

  • @squierplayer All Nirvana solos are imrpovisations, I just think maybe this two ones were planned.

  • @squierplayer So...I just think it's ridiculous to learn improvisation, maybe let's try to make own?

  • @OlympiaMusicTV oh I get what you are saying now. I agree, but it's hard to improvise to the record because then it just sounds like mush. If I have a backing track (bass/drums/no vocals) then I improvise. Like I did on You Know Your Right. I haven't put it on YouTube yet though.

  • @squierplayer Hmm, I think it's easy to improvise a solo. If Kurt could do that, then everybody can.

  • This solo was a studio imrpovisation like all Nirvana solos, and after recording repeated on concerts...to learn an imrpovisation is like...you know what!

  • I realize the fingering is much easier if you remove the g string.... lol

  • no its not bullshit. its nothing to do with ear smells like teen spirit in bloom and others are all standard. and lithium and stuff id in drop D he played a couple of songs in E flat at reading festival. look it up.

  • @1212MrTomb Lithium and Come as you are are played a full step down (DGCFAd). A lot of Nirvana songs are tuned down but that doesn't mean he played them in the same tuning every time.

  • @squierplayer i understand that i know he did play E flat alot live live live in reading but im just saying as far as the album goes in bloom is standard tuning along with breed smells like teen spirit and a couple of others. cos that other dude is not right they arent all in E flat.

  • @1212MrTomb lithium is not in drop d?

  • @danthemanallen89 the album version is actually.

  • Yo man you did it different in your solo video it looks like you bent the G string twice on the 15th fret i get the whole thing I just cant get the last part to sound right

  • @teekay000 yeah you are right man, in the solo video I hit the note and did like a half bend, let it down and then hit the note with a full bend. I played it a little different than the instructional video because I thought it sounded closer to the song...and I did this lesson like 2 1/2 years ago....even what I did in the solo video isn't exactly like the song but it's pretty close. put up a vid of you playing In Bloom, I'll check it out

  • i took everything you said and i tabbed it into power tab so i could read a tab version, and i wanna say THANKS!! you saved my life im soposed to play the song live soon AND play solo and i couldnt find any good tabs!

  • thanks to you i learned the solo from this cover thank you very much...

  • só faz barulho...afffssssss

  • It seems as if you're tuned in E standard. Kurt always tuned in Eb(flat). I'm tuned in Eb and find it hard to follow your directions with the fret numbers you say.

  • @SalandFindles no kurt didnt, thats wrog sorry.

  • @SalandFindles no kurt didnt, thats wrong sorry.

  • Bullshit. E flat was Kurt's tuning 100% of the time. If you have a half of an ear for music, you can plainly tell the difference between standard and flat tunings.

  • @SalandFindles how the fuck do you tune to Something In The Way then? A song that was played on a cheap guitar with only 5 strings, recorded in the engineering room at the studio by Butch Vig who shut off all the fans, unplugged all the phones and brought in microphones to record Kurt's whisper while he sang. Dave and Krist couldn't even match his tuning let alone his tempo, they had to go through bar by bar to make sure it matched. And then there was a cello.....

  • @SalandFindles the please post your cover of Lithium please i bet its not in E flat

  • I just might have to do that now that you've "requested it". I'll tune my guitar to E flat, although I think it already is. I'm telling you, all Nirvana songs were in flat tunings.

  • @SalandFindles dude your wrong LOOK IT UP. Kurt Cobain (on his album) was smells like teen spirit starndard in bloom standard come as you are E flat breed standard lithium drop D. the others i havnt learned. im just saying yes sometimes he played E flat when he played live but the only E flat in his album was come as you are. trust me dude

  • Nah, man. I'm not gonna bother researching something I already know. Flat tunings for Nirvana, strictly. Alice in Chains were the same exact were. Straight flat tunings all the time. I've tried playing both bands' songs in standard tunings. It sounds too "nice" and high-pitched.

  • @SalandFindles play it how you like. yes it will sound fine in E flat but the albums not tlike that so yeah i got no problem with you playing that way just saying if you wanna match the album its standard

    (Y)

  • btw, I've posted my Lithium cover, tuned in E flat. Don't bother nagging about the out-of-sync nature of the video either. I played it correctly. It's only slightly not synced up.

  • Great lesson mate. Helped me out big time. Why not just play the full speed version at the start though?

  • @b4382 I made separate videos in case I messed up while explaining or playing so I wouldn't have to start the video over when I was 3 minutes into it. It gets very repetitive trying to play the solo perfect and sometimes I just say "it's good enough" haha. Glad you liked it though

  • sounds very different without pedal??? i haven't and i want to make the solo

  • i fcukin like it!

  • Fez, fez, fez e não fez porra nenhuma!!!!!

  • wow, u have the gift of Kurt-awesomeness. great tutorial, i couldnt find a right lesson. love ur guitar.

  • Thanks for the first bend dude(i have not the real version;)

  • You play like Cobain !

  • Really well explained lesson. Five stars best describes this tutorial. Thanks for posting !

  • thanks u helped me alot

  • i thought this video was good deathshollow can suck it

  • nice! that is it for sure.

  • what are you waiting for then shithead?

  • @squierplayer lol nice one

  • The way I have seen the solos played or the lessons sound off from the recorded solo...

Altho Kurt claimed in interviews he never remembered how to play the solo, and would make up a solo, when they performed live..

He would try to get it as close to the recorded version but claimed he never played the solo as it was recorded..

  • thanks dude! : ) ur lesson helps!

  • hey do you know what effect kurt uses on the solo?

  • he uses either a BOSS DS-1 or DS-2 for his distortion. and a Electro Harmonix Small Clone as the Chorus pedal. if you need any more help or pedal settings i will help

  • thanks for the help Stinchy

  • He used a a flanger effect for the solos, In Bloom

Smeel like teen spirit, and Come as you are..

  • @AezSmokeyGanja : It's actually a chorus, mainly a Small Clone. If you set it below 9 o'clock it can definitely sound like a flanger though.

  • Thats cool, I always used a flanger, I made Bill Lawrence style L500XL pickups, and the flanger sounds wicked, compared to all the settings I tried with a chorus.. I had also saw an interview or had came across something that said Kurt used a flanger.. But it seems that was wrong..

  • Hey man, thanks a lot!!!! i finally learned the solo,i saw like 3 or 4 lessons and i get it in yours, thanks and keep rocking out

  • thanks

  • DUDE, WE HAVE THE SAME GUITAR!!!! :D

  • do you have a Fernandes?

  • awesome, finally a proper solo lesson, i've been trying for ages and all the others i've seen suck, thnx man

  • thanks man

  • FINALLY! No one's been making a lesson or making (readable) tabs for this part. All I can say is...Thanks.

  • you dont need tabs thats a really good solo lesson compared to some of the others ive seen and dont try to play this song unless you've had some real lessons

  • dude ir wasnt wrong and it really wasnt tht fast 2 me and yes put some tabs out

  • Um...I don't want any tabs, I just want you to slow it down a bit...if u can, make another video showing how to play this, but play slower....

  • thanks for the help, but do u think u can send me the tabs too? :P

  • nice man THx for the help i can never find the right tabs online thx. the solo is easier than i thought

  • no problem. yeah it's hard to find a good tab online

  • Great vid, great solo. I'll work it over a bit. I'll try to record when the rest of the band comes over Saturday night. I'll send you a link or mp3 if I get it pulled off.

  • ok sounds good

  • The song went pretty smooth, during the solo at least the band played on and didn't just stop and give me a crazy look, ha ha. Our regular drummer wasn't here so our sound man doubled as drummer, hence no one to record. Going to push for recording next week.

  • tabs? send please
