  • i do agree the cqc 8 is very ergo. prob one of the most ergo knife emerson. i own a cqc 15 also.

  • How is the size in Comparison to say the Spyderco Endura? I have the endura, and have a cqc8 on the way I got in a trade, as well as a Spyderco Paramilitary. Very excited about both.

  • I don't have an Endrua, but I would have to say the 8 is larger.. it is a pretty big knife... the para is phenomenal! One of my favorite and most useful edc's!

  • I've got the Horseman. Want Super CQC-8 stonewash.

  • I like a big knife, but I find I use a smaller one much more... the 8 is a little too big for my every day use, I can't imagine a super 8!! Might be good for killing wild boar or something!!

  • i really need to get an emerson after watching your reviews on them.. i am leaning towards the cqc-11 but would you recommend the satin finish or the black finished blade for scratch resistance?

  • They are both tough finishes, but I think the satin will show the wear less dramatically than the black... Alot of the knives can be had in stonewash now also! That is the best user finish out there imho.

  • if anyone's looking for one of these i have one that i'm letting go cheap. shoot me a message and i'll shoot you an email w pics

  • do you know when they started putting the swedge back on them.

  • I think early to mid 2008..

  • I should have sent in my CQC-15 and given them a chance to fix it but i didnt so i think i will give them another chance on the CQC-8 this time i so wanted to like it.

  • you know im going to look into getting a CQC-8 i really like it maybe i just did get that one in a million turkey.

  • I think the CQC-8 is a wicked knife! I am very happy with mine. I do use my CQC-7 more than any other knife I own though... something about the sharpness and blade length/shape that just end up being perfect for all my cutting tasks (and I generally dislike tantos!)

  • Do you sharpen the CQC7 on the Spyderco?

  • I haven't yet, but If I do I think I will just take one of the rods in my hand and sharpen the chisel grind freehand then strop it. There are a few how to's on the the Emerson website on sharpening and that method seems quick and easy.
