You started an argument. I merely have an opinion. You cannot handle criticism and you have resorted to name calling in an argument (not even close to a debate) that you started. It's not cruel. I always stick tape to my cat and watch them get it off. It's not like you're beating them or shocking them or throwing them or anything that could put them in danger or could injure them. It's tape. It's not poison.
I am in America and I know people with several cats some declawed and some still with.. Living in the SAME house. I also have cats of my own. When I was a child I used to chase our cat around with a broom.. As I aged we grew closer and every time I was near him he would purr until he drooled. Having a cat means it is the owners CHOICE whether or not to do anything with that pet. It is no longer a "wild animal" they might have instincts but they were bred smaller and domesticated....
Some people have to give their cats baths. Most all cats do not like water but it can be necessary to give them a bath. NOT CRUEL. Don't be so quick to shout abuse for a situation you know nothing of. If the cat still loves the owner they have done nothing wrong. Cats might like it out side, but it has been shown that they have longer lifespans indoors. No one wants their loved ones living a shorter life. I love all my pets and they are all special in their own way. This was owners choice.

Guess what/ My parents did. they circumcised me. why just for looks?Cus the alot of bacteria and diseases you can get there. so by removal one can prevent these. same goes for cats. Now my cat is INDOOR ONLY so I can declaw him. this prevents artritis in his paws so he can walk easyer as he gets older. also this prevents bacteria and a disease that cats can get in between there claws. again ask your vet or read a book
@djjeckel65 I live in England where declawing your cats is illegal. If I asked a vet she/he would just say the same as I have heard before. Being circumcised is not the same thing. Declawing your cat is more like taking away your toes. Declawing is inhumane and is unnecessary mutilation. Amputating the important part a cats anatomy that contains the claws, drastically alters the conformation of their feet. I don't think any cats wants to go without its claws.

I have experienced both styles of living and I don't disagree with declawing because it is illegal in England. Has it never occured to you that maybe YOU can't think for yourself either? Furthermore, your cat seems to be like every other cat, playing and jumping etc but no cat lover would doubt that cats, whose senses are much keener than ours, suffer pain. They may, however, hide it better. Not only are they proud, they instinctively know that they are at risk when in a weakened position, and by nature will attempt to hide it.

I am in America and I know people with several cats some declawed and some still with.. Living in the SAME house. I also have cats of my own. When I was a child I used to chase our cat around with a broom.. As I aged we grew closer and every time I was near him he would purr until he drooled. Having a cat means it is the owners CHOICE whether or not to do anything with that pet. It is no longer a "wild animal" they might have instincts but they were bred smaller and domesticated....

Some people have to give their cats baths. Most all cats do not like water but it can be necessary to give them a bath. NOT CRUEL. Don't be so quick to shout abuse for a situation you know nothing of. If the cat still loves the owner they have done nothing wrong. Cats might like it out side, but it has been shown that they have longer lifespans indoors. No one wants their loved ones living a shorter life. I love all my pets and they are all special in their own way. This was owners choice.

Guess what/ My parents did. they circumcised me. why just for looks?Cus the alot of bacteria and diseases you can get there. so by removal one can prevent these. same goes for cats. Now my cat is INDOOR ONLY so I can declaw him. this prevents artritis in his paws so he can walk easyer as he gets older. also this prevents bacteria and a disease that cats can get in between there claws. again ask your vet or read a book

@djjeckel65 I live in England where declawing your cats is illegal. If I asked a vet she/he would just say the same as I have heard before. Being circumcised is not the same thing. Declawing your cat is more like taking away your toes. Declawing is inhumane and is unnecessary mutilation. Amputating the important part a cats anatomy that contains the claws, drastically alters the conformation of their feet. I don't think any cats wants to go without its claws.

@djjeckel65 You are again being a hypocrite. I said earlier that they don't purpously think to be malicious to you as in the situation you said. In other things yes of coure, it is in their instincts. A1Trekman is a human, which is completely different, who NEEDED his nails taken out unlike a cat would. I do hsve a cat, 2 in fact and when before when I had lived in America and had no idea that declawing was illegal in England I still did not choose to have my cat declawed.

@MegaDotz help me help you... tell me why if they are indoor only why do they need claws?? my neighbors cat has a nasty cut under her eye the dumb cat did it to her self. so if you had a kid and he or she had a knife and was cutting her self.. you be ok with that cus it's her choice?? what about kids with braces that only to make there teeth good but for 5 to 7 years they will be in pain and talk funny. my cat is in no pain and also will not have arthritis. damn lady do you need 9 inch nails?

@djjeckel65 No but cats do. I have explained but you have not listened. Shots, braces whatever are nececary and will help your cat/child. But declawing is unececary. You obviously think it is nececary. But I think not. And as for the knife thing, you don't give a cat its claws, it is born with it. And most every cat is born with it. BECAUSE IT IS IMPORTANT FOR THEM. It may cause them problems sometimes but evolution gave it them to make life BETTER for them.

@MegaDotz claws are for cats in the wild not at home playing with a baby. If a kid was hurt by your cat the cat would be put to sleep. at least here. braces are not necessary there just to make you teeth look good. ohh and learn to spell.. NECESSARY NOT NECECARY!!!

And if braces are just to make your teeth look good why did you use it as an example for why to get your cat declawed!? And cats ARE wild animals. They are free animals which you can't control. Declawing a cat takes away its freedom and disadvantages it in many ways SUCH AS having to keep it indoors.

They should be allowed to go outside. humans learn and edevelop their instinctsd as they grow older, but most other animals including Cats are born with their instincts and general knowledge to be free etc.

@djjeckel65 I'm not going to talk about declawing anymore becasue its really pointless right now but I will explain my nationality. I was born in France. I lived there for most of my childhood. Then moved to America. From America I moved to England where I am now. My father is English and my mother is american Samoan, but I jhave no French blood. I merely lived there for a time.

@MegaDotz Hi, Yes I'm butting in again. First off if you're born somewhere that makes you from that place where you were born. For example our President was born in Hawaii but his Father is from Africa, that doesn't make Obama African. Your bloodline doesn't decide where you are from, it's what is listed on your birth certificate as your place of birth that determins where you are from. Since you where born in France then yes, you are French.
