hi there martin. real nice to hear from you. from reading e mails it sounds like the cleveland group is starting to get attendanace back up again. i hope so. the last three meetings i made, there was usually only cuyahoga joe, J. arlis and myself. glad also that they are back in former talkies, good location. hope to hear an original from you sometime soon. peace and love, chuck.
Chuck, you have a talent for writing very descriptive lyrics, they provoke all kinds of images in my mind. The 'if my car was as fine as the curve of your back' really struck me. That's just one line in the song, there are many others. :) Great song.
I too am a cat person. I have two feral cats that recently took up residence in my yard, and I've been feeding them. One day, maybe I can pet them. :) They're not to that stage yet, may never be, but they're fun anyway.
hi janet. whenever possible, it's best to handle kittens while they are still young. then they imprent onto you a bit. usually if they weren't handled young they are slow to make up to that.
yes, i enjoy these kinds of silly, fantasy songs, but it's not always easy to come up with the idea. it's weird though, where song ideas come from. i also get a kick out of reading about famous hit songs that were never expected to go anywhere. a lot of so called B sides turned out to go "A", chuck.
Back again, having an evening listening to a few favourites while working. I didn't mention on my earlier comment that it is nice to see a few more pictures than one. Take care and give my regards to your family/extended or otherwise. Pete.
hi pete, thanks for the re-listen. these are a lot of the members from two song writing clubs i belong to in the greater cleveland area. i enjoy the meetings very much. lovely groups of people with some interesting songs performed from time to time. was wondering if you have similar clubs in your own area, chuck.
Not any where I live chuck. It's a tiny city in central queensland with only 30 000, an industrial town. YT is my songwiter's club, and I enjoy the conversations I'm having with other writers a lot too. It has helped me to improve.
Lovely song, Chuck, and a fine set of pictures. I'm pleased to see that you're a "cat man", just like me and Ange, though we've only got the one now, a tabby with just three legs. She gets on just fine, doing all the things four-legged cats do, just a little lopsidedly. She's a real character who likes nothing better than to sit on someone's shoulder, like a furry parrot. I hope your health's continuing to improve.
hi paddy, yes, we've had cats forever it seems. each has it's own distinct personality. my favorite was madelyn. she's gone now, but she would jump up onto people's shoulder to say hello. loved to ride in the car and did not need "here kitty" to come. you just talk in a normal voice and she would walk right to you. healthwise i feel just fine for an old dude. hope you are enjoying the summer, chuck.
Chuck!!!! Hey....sooo great to hear from you! Thanks for the link to this beautiful song, and to see some of our old friends, just added to the beauty of the video....
I am looking forward to the next song circle...hoping to get there! Beth, aka: Flip of the FlipSide Band
hi there stranger (beth)....i had not been to the cleveland meeting for a couple years probably. the last 2 times i went it was just me and two or three others, seemed thin for a two hour drive. but this tuesday i was looking at a roof job in cuyahoga falls and i figured i was less than an hour away and so ended up there. i had a wonderful time. all the old timers were there, jim and george, marty roberts and mr. barret with a tie, john arless, jane, jim dime and more. only needed you, cp
I like the way you say "pretty" "dance","fine"- tiny details maybe but they really add something to this well composed song. The guitar work has some nice details which really enhance this one as well. Prine comes to (my) mind again, this time in the delivery. The lyrical content seems to be pure chuck though. You've still obviously got a heck of a lot of gems left in your bag of unposted material, because they keep on coming, it's good to hear.
hi curtis. nice to be mentioned in the same breadth as john prine. it's funny how songs get started. i was buying gas in the local station and the lady working had very curly hair with a nice recent highlight job. i told her i wished my wallet looked as good as her hair......then....the beat goes on, chuck.
