The Cayenne is probably Porsche's least-advertized car in the lineup, especially when you consider how much media the 911 gets, yet the Cayenne is still their best selling vehicle. People like big cars, so they buy them.  QED.

how can you compare the ford edge to the Porsche Cayenne the turbo is like double the price of course its going to brake and the 0 - 60 is going to be faster it has a v8 not a v6 if you included the jeep srt8 i bet they would say that won too even through its not for off road and SUV's aren't designated to drive off road so why even test it and driving a dirt road to get to your cottage isn't off road

I agree the Porsche is an awesome vehicle and serves it's purpose as a utility vehicle. But when you compare a $50k vehicle to a $20 or even a $30k vehicle you should get that higher quality fit and finish. It should be very capable. I look at it and say "yes you are getting a gorgeous vehicle, but what else could you get for that price that also serves the same purpose." And no I cannot afford it. Nor would I buy it. I see more value in a less expensive equally matched suv, i.e. Grand Cherokee.

did you watch the first video of this series? they clearly said that these cars are not compared to eachother. they're not comparing 20 k vehicles to 50 k vehicles. they're testing each individual SUV based on whether or not they meet a certain criteria. the Porsche met this criteria best. value for money was one of the criteria, and they obviously thought it was good value for money.
