@MyNameIsMiles727 yeah it's good man. It ain't a typical shlock Troma film - actuallly Troma only handled distribution for it, it's a light hearted comedy/coming of age flick, if you've seen De Palma's Greeting or Hi Mom! then you'll pretty much get the idea.
Back in the day, I saw "Monster In the Closet" and didn't really like it then, but I should give it another spin. I was a different person back in the day.
@ToneCapone570 Bloodsucking Freaks is not really a Troma film, it was just acquired by Troma after previous distributors had hacked the movie to pieces. In a recent Q & A i was at, Lloyd actually said he regrets acquiring that movie, seems like he doesn't like it much for whatever reason.
@dave4378 sorry to say,i fuckin love that movie,no matter who does not like that movie, who ever required that movie, made a funny ass so called horror film, whether lloyed does not like it or not,its a great movie, espeshialy from those years,i have seen it in 1979,and its one of the funniest horror movies that ever came out at that time,--see ya--
did anyone catch the newspape headline at around 8:00? It said something about global warming in Cannes... This is really back in the 80's? Back then they were talking about global cool down? Strange how odd history can be.
This idiot doesn't know anything. Troma is art. Art is meant to evoke emotions and reactions in it's viewers, and Troma does just that. It's like shock art.
Toxie wasn't released in '81, it was released in '84. According to Lloyd himself, it was filmed in '83 (he constantly named that date in interviews I've seen).
If I won the lottery, I would buy Troma so Lloyd could enjoy retirement, but I would have him stay on as a spokesperson for interviews much like Stan Lee does for Marvel (now Disney, Troma's polar opposite). As a matter of fact, I'm surprised that someone like Trey Parker, Matt Stone, Eli Roth, or Quentin Tarantino doesn't buy Troma.
Lloyd and Michael would never sell. They've been in business for over thirty years, and though they may have hit their speed bumps here and there, I doubt they'd be willing to give up the control that they fought so hard for. The only reason there haven't been any big budget Troma remakes is because Lloyd refuses to sell his ideas just to make a buck. This is one of the things that makes Troma great. They'd probably rather close their doors than give up their independence.
God bless bad taste and Toxie and Troma and Bless you ItsAhandGranade for being a loyal Tromanite I plucked 30 bones for Combat Shock and got more from my moneys worth. and i would pluck down my cash for troma flick than anything playing in Theaters.
I met lloyd at the con one year... AWESOME dude I got a pic with him and he autographed my copy of TERROR FIRMER!!!! Keep up the awesome work we will all keep watching!!!!!!!

When you're young and naive, zany B-films are the coolest, and then you get a little smarter and realize Troma sucks. Garbage in, garbage out I always say.
My real name is not Shane. It's an alias. I picked the name Shane because it's such an asshole's name. Thanks for reinforcing my theory. You weak minded turd.
So in other words, you call yourself Shane because you think you're an asshole. At least you don't try to fool yourself. As for, "weak minded turd", I'm more of a open minded piece of shit.
I like Troma films because they're dumb. They're the types of movies that are so dumb that only smart people like them, which explains why you're not a fan. Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz are geniuses. They make and produce movies that are made specifically to be laughed at, but it's not just stupidity for stupidities sake. They give anybody a chance to make movies. Which is as it should be. Are all Troma movies good? Of course not, but they're more real than the garbage from Hollywood.
I take it you're a fan of Spielberg and Lucas and all the other assholes who wouldn't know how to make a movie for under $100,000,000, and can't even make a movie interesting for that much.
what troma movie was Robert De Niro in?

There's no way that 1998 godzilla movie cost 100 million dollars to make. Mathew Broderick works for a case of miller and an apple bee's gift card.

Box office expectations are high!!!....You hit the Cinema, if its bad, u feel ripped off!!!! Sometimes you walk out!
If u rented it at home, u just turn it off!
Troma, u know what your in for, and no matter how bad the movie is, u will watch it to the end, because troma movies are magic!!!
This is why they have survived, and will continue to!!!
And personally, as he mentions Terror Firmer at the end, i would say that was the best movie since Toxic Avenger part 1!!!!
