@urbanoproductions I totally wanted Portugal to win 2000, & that penalty made me angry and feel they were robbed. But looking back, since Zizou really went stratospheric with Juventus,, deep down I really knew Zidane was the dominator of this game, with that majestic ball-control and vision. Portugal were unlucky to lose, it was a narrow loss for sure. I am still a great admirer of that brilliant team, Vitor Baia, Joao Pinto, Figo, Rui Costa and Nuno Gomes, my favourite striker that time :(

He is of the calibre of Maradona and Pele. Of superior genius to Platini, who was most complete creative number 10 Europe had produced in previous decades (more than Baggio, Hagi, Bergkamp, Scifo or Matthaus) before ZZ. Zidane can be compared with Di Stefano in his athleticism, technique, command and vision.

I was lucky to be at the France - Czech republic game in bruges , the whole experience was fantastic , from the brilliant zidane to the fact that fans were swapping shirts after the game outside the ground.

@soullimbo I remember watching that game on the BBC, I remember Lineker, Hansen and Lawrenson spent a few minutes at half-time watching clips of some of the stuff Zidane pulled off in the first half.
