only thing i see when i see a butt and pass is laziness, and what looks like a weak structure... i know it has been done around the world for years, but still.
butt & run is one thing but i don't understand where the structure is getting it's perpendicular strength.. what will keep it from falling over under the weight of the roof?
folks, spend 5 minutes extra on each corner and avoid the Butt and Pass method of log corners, purchase a bubble scribe and scribe the logs to fit over each other and do it right.
