  • I was there a few weeks ago! I met Nick, he was very nice. He was kind enough to take me and show me their kiln while they were firing. It was very interesting I had a blast made for a great trip.

  • Sommerset, England appears to have the same weather we have in Washington State, USA.

    Thanks for the gallery tour!!

  • beautiful! I love it, which i could visit.

  • i like the sagged pots. how would i go about doing that , just fill a barrel up with saw dust, and lighter fluid and how do i keep it going, and for how long, how do i know when it is done, and will they become back , or was there something put on the , to turn them that color.

  • sorry ;) the lol was in response to ClydeB3

  • What type of clay do you use?

I gather you fire to cone-10.

The clay body looks quite smooth. Is it classified as smooth, or medium coarse? or what?

I would love to have the technical specifications of the clay you use to compare it with potential analogs that I can get here.

    Also.

Thank you Sooooo much for the Leach wheel plans. You are very generous. I will let you know when I get it built!

  • You say; "What can I say. . ." My feelings exactly. Surely, inspirational. Yet, overwhelming. "Keep practicing." Now reads: JUST DO IT!

  • lol - skip

  • Beautiful Gallery! Thanks for the tour!

  • thanks for the tour! My compliments to John also. I´m amazed of all the skilled and beautiful work. Hope I one day will be able to come and see them "live".

  • Just looked at John's website. Some nice work. What is the story with these chicken bricks? I've never seen one before.

  • Hi not to butt-in, but,

Chicken Bricks are a like an old Dutch oven to roast chickens in. " Pots in the Kitchen" by Jose Waters, is a wonderful resource for such things as this and many older crockery ware pieces and uses. There are several other examples of Bernard's, David's and John's work in her book as well as some of Philip's and Frannie's I believe. I borrow a copy from the library quiet often, it's wonderful like all of Simon's work.

  • Sorry
