  • Ah the memories!

    R.I.P Spanky

  • "Yum! Yum! Eat 'em UP!" is still the funniest sketch he ever did!

  • I remember one talk show that featured some of the child actors of the 30s-50s, Billy Gray, Lauren Chapin, and George McFarland were all three featured. Billy Gray kept mouthing off, and Spanky looked at him and said something to the effect that if his father were around he'd have turned Billy over his knee.

  • OMG !!!

Spanky was my favorite TV character as a kid with Alfalfa second. These two had me laughing at 4 years old. Loved The LIttle Rascals.

  • he beat the Our Gang Curse but barely. So many of them died so young. He made it to 64 but by 1993 that would be considered lost too soon.

  • @hoss73ford1 He looked pretty fat in the last years of his life. Maybe the cardiac arrest was due to that. Spanky could've lived a little longer though.

  • he had a good life its ok cause he's with the people that he loved they are together again. but he left us with this a classic.thankyou !

  • He died a day before I was born O___O;

  • Aww he died the same year I was born....the irony .-.

  • He was such a smart kid. I loved him the most of the Our Gang kids.

  • Goodbye, little friend who made me laugh as a kid, & still laugh at thier 'everyday' life comedy. I'll miss you all & sorry to hear how some of you died.If only the comedy today was 1/2 of what the Little Rascals was!

  • His son was in a Cub Scout troop that I was associated with. Spanky showed up once when we were camping. It was a hot night and he brought ice cream for everyone. A very, very cordual gentleman who loved his family and cherished his friends. Never demonstrated any kind of star status around us. His son looked just like him when he was younger.

  • Excellent child actor, but a rep for a boot company? A chunky little guy is the last person you think of wearing boots. A tall John Wayne type would be a lot more like it.

  • :*(

  • I've met Spanky..and despite the fact..that he was sometimes,a bit of a grump..he was a very sweet and kindly man.(Crying)I Still Miss Him!

  • Hal Roach outlived most of them, at 100.

  • Alfalfa was a real asshole and quite a brute as I understand

  • His last TV appearance believe it or not was on Cheers, I believe the second to last episode.

  • He still makes me smile. Rest in peace.

  • What a Texan Spanky was! Head to toe, he was a Texas boy!

  • I wish I could have interviewed some of the remaining cast members of "Our Gang" back in the late 80's.

I miss the old CNN Headline News format with David Goodnow. These days it's nothing but gossip crap and too much Nancy Grace!

  • possibly the best child actor of all time

  • @zipjok I agree! Spanky was the best !

  • Actually,Spanky's local Tulsa,Ok. kids tv show aired from 1955 to 1960.

  • alfalfa was the biggest star!!!!!!!!!

  • @nickjlew; Alfalfa was a big star, but so was Spanky, and Stymie and Porky and a few others

  • Spanky McFarland was also a local kids tv host on"The Spanky Show"on KOTV in Tulsa,Ok. from 1955 to 1960.

  • R.I.P ALL THE LITTLE RASCALS

  • @nasheasanders1 isnt butch still alive?

  • @thestereotyper1; I don't think Tommy Bond is still alive

  • @nasheasanders1;

but, there's about seven who are still alive

  • He was the cutest Little Rascal. Adorable! Always loved the pic where he's chasing the roach with a hammer. The one with the photographer was great too.

  • my fav....damn im sure today there would for him.

  • Remember the episode with the wildman from Borneo...running around in the house saying ...Yum, Yum..EATEM UP. Years later on pre-cable Turner channel 17 here in Georgia, I was watching the movie Creature from the Black Lagoon. Apparently, one of the techs on duty late at night felt a bit rambunctious. During a scene when the creature was on the beach chasing the bathing beauty..I heard ..YUM YUM EATEM UP. The good old days of TV when younguns actually had fun watching TV.

  • R.I.P Spanky ..from saudi arabia

  • R.I.P. Pal....

  • Its great how he still looked so much like

    Spanky when he got old!

  • My 10 & 8 yr old grandsons love The Our Gang movies! I was amazed when they kept watching them over and over again. Buckwheat is their favorite. Wish we could have that innocence again.

  • @mimiluvfromsf My sister and I loved the show. my favorite was the dog Petey.

  • Spanky: Say who is this funny looking monkey?

Alfalfa: That Happens to be me partner.

  • R.I.P Spanky Russia

  • smiles & tears <3
