IF IM NOT MISTAKING THIS TAKES PLACE IN 1947..I LOVE THIS SHOW CAUSE IS LIKE A TIME MACHINE THAT SHOWS ME THE STYLES OF THE LATE 40,S OF HOW IT WAS LIKE
I remember one talk show that featured some of the child actors of the 30s-50s, Billy Gray, Lauren Chapin, and George McFarland were all three featured. Billy Gray kept mouthing off, and Spanky looked at him and said something to the effect that if his father were around he'd have turned Billy over his knee.
@hoss73ford1 He looked pretty fat in the last years of his life. Maybe the cardiac arrest was due to that. Spanky could've lived a little longer though.
Goodbye, little friend who made me laugh as a kid, & still laugh at thier 'everyday' life comedy. I'll miss you all & sorry to hear how some of you died.If only the comedy today was 1/2 of what the Little Rascals was!
His son was in a Cub Scout troop that I was associated with. Spanky showed up once when we were camping. It was a hot night and he brought ice cream for everyone. A very, very cordual gentleman who loved his family and cherished his friends. Never demonstrated any kind of star status around us. His son looked just like him when he was younger.
Excellent child actor, but a rep for a boot company? A chunky little guy is the last person you think of wearing boots. A tall John Wayne type would be a lot more like it.
He was the cutest Little Rascal. Adorable! Always loved the pic where he's chasing the roach with a hammer. The one with the photographer was great too.
Remember the episode with the wildman from Borneo...running around in the house saying ...Yum, Yum..EATEM UP. Years later on pre-cable Turner channel 17 here in Georgia, I was watching the movie Creature from the Black Lagoon. Apparently, one of the techs on duty late at night felt a bit rambunctious. During a scene when the creature was on the beach chasing the bathing beauty..I heard ..YUM YUM EATEM UP. The good old days of TV when younguns actually had fun watching TV.
My 10 & 8 yr old grandsons love The Our Gang movies! I was amazed when they kept watching them over and over again. Buckwheat is their favorite. Wish we could have that innocence again.

OMG !!!
Spanky was my favorite TV character as a kid with Alfalfa second. These two had me laughing at 4 years old. Loved The LIttle Rascals.

he beat the Our Gang Curse but barely. So many of them died so young. He made it to 64 but by 1993 that would be considered lost too soon.

I wish I could have interviewed some of the remaining cast members of "Our Gang" back in the late 80's.
I miss the old CNN Headline News format with David Goodnow. These days it's nothing but gossip crap and too much Nancy Grace!
