I'm curious to see the repercussions of this. But in all of my playthroughs, Garrus takes the shot. He's a badass, simple as!

1 more thing, Garrus wanted to shoot down Dr. Hart's vessel on the citadel, while hostages were on board. If that isn't a renegade, idk what the hell is. Mercy is not the Garrus way.

For all the people who feel bad that were worried that saving sidonis would ruin the loyalty. Don't be sad you let Garrus kill Sidonis, its a lot better than having Garrus become a whiny bitch. Mass 1 garrus confesses that saren needs to die absolutely do not let it go to court, killing dr. hart, no trial, garrus is the executioner, (mass 1 again for our ps3 friends) the turian is a RENEGADE not a paragon, saving sidonis for garrus is changing him. (unlike what femshep here was saying)

A way, that is, anyone with more intelligence and depth then /you/ can comprehend. Paragon is actually, in fact, often the /harder/ choice, resulting in needing /more/ balls to deal with then the renegade option, which bullies their way through everything. And it also makes for a more challenging game

I did this BOTH ways, and letting Garrus shoot Sidonis felt so /wrong/. You're not solving anything, you're not making anything better, you're not even /punishing anyone/. You're getting

Which is essentially what you're doing by letting Garrus take the shot...if you pursue all dialogue options, you quickly realize just how bad it is for Garrus to let him get revenge this way. Game makes it /really/ obvious. So you just go ahead with your 'bad ass' renegade Shep, and I'll continue with my 'pussy' paragon, and in the end, we'll see who actually is

Anyone else get a vibe from this that there's going to be a big betrayal in ME3? The way that line is said at :33 just really makes me think that this is foreshadowing. Plus, Garrus is very much ME2's Ashley (Both are the sarcastic pessimistic jokers with possibly the most baggage of your team, which is saying a lot), and Ashley foreshadowed Shepherd's death by quoting from a poem that Shepherd mentions the Captain died in. The whole live a guilty life crap is such a cliche. I've always believed that just because its paragon and its good, doesn't mean its purely the right choice. I've always felt like constantly telling Garrus what to do was like mommying him around and holding him back from his potential to become a specter. Thats how I handle most of my loyalty missions. I see it as they're mission not mine.

As much as Sidonis is an asshole, i didnt shoot him for two reasons:

1. He fells sorry for what he done. Not to mention his live was on stake, its understantable.

2. I dont want Garrus to turn into some crazy lunatic and goes on killing spree. I want him to understand that revenge doesnt solve the pain. And who knows maybe if you let Sidonis live, he will sacrifice himself to save Garrus in ME3.

P.S If you were on Sidonis place, you would also betray your team to save your skin ADMIT IT!

@Chester1004 Couldn't say I completely agree about Sidonis, but I did stop Garrus from killing him - mostly because I didn't like the idea of letting Garrus do that (I have a feeling he wouldn't stop there or learn anything from it) but also because it is kinda sadistic to force Sidonis to live the rest of his life burdened with the guilt of knowing that ten people are dead because of his selfish actions. (Pity you can't tell Garrus that...but Paragon isn't meant to be evil I guess.)

His voice also sounds eerily reminiscent of Saren's in this mission. I don't think he would be just as bad or worse than Saren, but very close, and close isn't good. But here's how I see it.

Renegade Outcome: Garrus goes into a darker path.

Nuetral Outcome: Garrus will be his same old self.

Paragon Outcome: Garrus becomes more forgiving.
