(cont) Crichton was obviously a great story-teller and had a great imagination but I felt that the book fell a touch short of what he was capable of. Not an awful book, not a great one, but a fun read. I'd give it 3 out of 5.
I found the book to be good. It didn't knock my socks off. IT did flow GREAT and the story was creative. I felt that Crichton did not have a firm enough grasp on some of the technical nautical terms and procedures. To a reader that has not read many nautical novels, you won't notice but avid Nautical readers (like myself) see right off that Crichton did not have a lot of technical knowledge on the sailing and handling of ships of the period. There was a scene that I found a bit ridiculous......
went to your homepage, anti twilite movement? you should abbreviate that to somthing easy like A.T.M you may find other chicks like you. try searching for ATM girls.
I haven't really read much lately. I'm reading Anne of Green Gabels right now and it's a slow process because I saw the movies. I wish I hadn't done that. So maybe after I read that... I might try that one.
The Way you said PIRATE LADITUDES just made me lol so hard!
and about the anime convention in......LA? you from there or did u actually travel out to go there? cuz ive been to like 4 conventions in NY cuz i am a new yorkaaa
I just finished reading, "We Have Always lived in this Castle." I think I'll look into this book now, I loved his book, "Disclosure." I would highly recommend the book just mentioned above. It was written by a woman named Shirley Jackson, she wrote a very well known book called, "The Haunting" which is another great book. She likes to build up a lot of suspence, then unlease it at the end and she does it in a very Hitchcock sort of way. After you read some of her stories, you're left in shock!
I find it very hypocritical that you can hate twilight but like Vampire Knight, given that Vampire Knight is essneitally the anime/manga equivilent to twilight. I do know what I'm talking about, given that I have read two of the twilight books (I will never feel clean again) and also seen a fair bit of the Vampire Knight anime (as well as read the first few volumes of the manga) and although Vampire Knight is better than twilight it still has the same premise and very simillar characters.
i have no problem with vampire romance, it's the terrible writing and the cliche plot lines that make me furious. not to mention the absolutely trite characters. at least the ones in vampire knight have some hint of personality, interest and development.
and i don't really like the anime - i like the manga. the anime annoys me because they got a lot of things wrong.
but i do agree that there are similar aspects. i always say that VK is as close as i'll get to liking Twilight.
There's no stars to give lol! poor cat..died in vein..Nice review btw.
