Well if the 5.56 round is so terrible as this guy makes it sound then mabye we should just take it away from all of our troops in Aphganistan. Oh wait, apparently it's not that bad if we're still using it. He was shooting at a metal plate with no feelings. If you were shooting at a real person he would be on the ground crying in pain.
@LOVEmyAMERICA117 It's not terrible but there's better rounds out there. And you don't want a wounded person who could possibly fight another day, you want a person dead.
@jabooper It matters of how good of a marksman you are. I'm pretty sure you can take somone down easily with this weapon. Plus the Navy SEALs use this weapon alot
@jabooper If you want a person dead you need good bullet placement (or .50 BMG), but i think when people talk "stopping power", they're talking about non instantly lethal shots such as in the gut or in a non critical part of the chest. I think operatives would want a round that could drop an enemy even with a gut shot so they could finish him off before he gets back up instead of a round that would just make someone scream ouch and continue shooting.
Those who fly a desk in the buearocracy like the 5.56mm because it hurts the enemy instead of killing him. Injured enemy probably can't fight, he requires antibiotics, painkillers& food+water. He becomes a burden for his side. Instead of buying and transporting extra weapons, they have to buy medicine etc for somebody who can't fight because he's injured. It strains the enemy's resources. Of course a grunt doesn't look at a 5.56mm that way. He wants immediate threat reduction killing the enemy.
@bravenuggethead not if you have an enemy that injected himself with synthetic adrenaline....that was one of the huge problems they've seen in the invasion of fallujah was targets would get hit but keep firing and run and jump like they were superheroes or some shit...but this round is never gonna see any infantry combat serivice....maybe private sectors but not NATO forces....NATO round is the 5.62mm and i doubt that's gonna change anytime soon.
@chri123r Thing is that western nations call each rifle like this as AK47. system is same, Yugoslavia just bought AK47 specs and licence and made its own version. But here are some improvements on AP M70 AB: better steel quality of the barrel which enables prolonged shooting, better accuracy, and reliability.Notice gun in vid has 3 cooling holes on sides and AK47 has 2. It has sight above gas chamber for grenades and AK47 doesnt. I had AP M70 AB from war but we turned it in when war here ended.
Ak47 vs m-16/ar-15, do you want speed? m-16, power? ak47 how about cost effective? both are pretty close but where i am .556/.223 is 3 cents cheaper per round.
All i see on gun videos all over youtube are people arguing over what gun is best... If the world was so smart they wouldn't even be arguing... >_> just shows how dumb they all are haha! u mad bro? :)
I don't get why people say the m16 is not reliable it kept mac alive, it keeps our soldiers, marines, navy, etc alive sure the m16 has it's faults but all guns do.
@pulsery It's because when the M16 first arrived, it WASN'T reliable. It was designed to use a diffrent propellant than the one actually used by the military, the barrel and chamber wasn't chrome-lined to resist corrosion, they were even ASSEMBLED wrong during tests. These problems caused stoppages, to the point that soldiers died in Vietnam, trying to get the gun working again in midfight.
All of these have since been fixed, but the bad reputation hangs on, for no apperent reason.
@MoonEyes2k the Ar15 I've fired on a gun range b4 jammed about 5 times in about 3 20 round mags just cause the desert decided to throw a wall of dust. 1 was a stove pipe tho.
@XxXPenrdXxX Oh, I'm not saying that the M16 is PERFECT...far from it. But it certainly isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be either. And, in a dust-storm, as it were, I would have to say that most rifles and/or carbines would end up with problem.
And, as an aside, the 468 isn't being manufactured anymore, and weren't adopted, as far as I know, by any military. The upper is still being sold, but that's Barrett selling off stock.
@MoonEyes2k The only gun I didn't end with that problem in the fantastic range was the Modernized M14. The gun that most jammed for me was american made ak47 dam that gun stove piped so much.
@XxXPenrdXxX Mmm. That's the thing I don't get about this thing. Why do we need a new round? Mack is being a bit of a twat, in that the 7.62 HE is talking about is the WP one. Why not try the NATO 7.62, such as the one used in the M14 and other battle rifles? I think it's an excellent round, it's been around for a while, and with rifles like the Mk14, or the HK417, there are lots of modern, hi-tech rifles firing it.
@MoonEyes2k carrying a few mags of the m14 is quite heavy then again that round it sort of 1 hit kill. and the 7.62x51 is quite recoil-ish not made for the new people
@anf9 he never even said that...they ONLY said they were talking about transferring kinetic energy, and in that respect, they're completely correct....Moran...
Blah, TV sensationalism. The 5.56 is designed to yaw on impact, not for "knock down" (Seen any terrorists made out of steel lately?). The fact that the bodies are the same on the 6.8 and the M16/4 isn't an amazing feat, they've essentially just rechambered the rifle. Car doors aren't cover, only concealment.
Not to crap on the 6.8, it is a very effective round, even more effective than the 5.56 in many/most situations, but use some logic in the tests/commentary >.>
The M16 is only unreliable when you decide to swim under 10 feet of mud and crap. Any other time the M16A2 and A4 will not jam on you, even if you bury it in sand and leave the dust cover open if it has a PMag in the gun will Operate, if you bury an AK with the dust cover open it will get off maybe 20 shots in total around 3 mags of 6 with the 3 mags split between them.

Give him a break. He was a Navy SEAL sniper/marksman for pete's sake. I think that if anyone would know about weapon systems and their relative reliability in combat, I think he would.
@devilsadvocate22289 OFC. but, he cant say "m16 sux" on national television. For comparison: you can allways see on training video that someone have m16 family gun jammed on shooting range. When I served in finish army as a conscript, I saw only two rk62 jammed in my platoon during my service(12months), both times gun jammed because magazine was filled with sand.
No offence man but the fact that the ak47 has a bigger round and a slower speed makes it more powerful and painful to get shot by since it has a bigger entry and exit wound.
@TheEpicAfro Yes but a bigger round is pointless if it hits them in the foot or misses them all together from not reaching to target before losing to much KE. Point of impact is everything.
@Alphacaliber thing is if you get hit in the chest with either i assure you that you wont be able to tell the difference. Any round will stop someone 1 hit unless they are on PCP. A) from the pain or B) from bleeding out or also hydro static shock. anyway any round will make you just as dead around the fastness within a few seconds of screaming. AR-15 is more accurate than AK therefore i personally prefer it. (ar's are plenty reliable if you maintain it ,clean it and oil it)
@paranoid19851 Yes your correct basically the m16 was the first weapon that had to be cleaned and the forces never trained the soldiers back then how to clean there rifles and never gave them the equipment to do so. Some soldiers even used the m1a1 Thompson for reliability
I would enjoy Future Weapons a lot more if they didn't put silly sound effects over the guns. Oh, and anyone else find it funny how the younger Chris Barrett looked exactly like Chris Griffin from Family Guy?
Just get an M14, it has everything a soldier needs on the modern battlefield. It has an accurate range to 700 meters. It's very reliable. It can use full auto if needed. It can fit a bipod, grenade launcher, or a scope to fit into different roles. And it has enough power to kill a man in only 1-2 shots. That's way better than an M16 or an AK-47. More accurate than an AK, and more powerful than an M16. It's perfect.
@BloodStainedSand Yeah, I guess. It can be a bit heavy for some soldiers. I bet they could make it out of lighter materials to decrease weight. I have heard that they did that with something called the M14 EBR, but they took off a lot of the useful features seen on the original model as a result.
@jdslipknot I bet the first time the AK47 fags shoot the AK (if they ever do) i bet they will make an attempt to go all call of duty style and end up setting it on fire.
so will this be the new American Assault Rifle ? i mean you guys need a new weapon the M16 is like 40 years old whilst the rest of your kit is more up to date with modern times here in the UK we have introduced new combat weapons to our troops but we still use the SA80A2 as a standard issue Rifle for our Forces i think we need to update our infantry weapons lads to improve not only our kill to death but to also do the job in 1 bullet peace from the UK God Bless
m16 and m4s are still great it doesnt it has a lot to do with the calibur but the speed of the bullet is even more important who cares if it knocks down a target it still kills it
@MrNoah898 your a moron. knock down power it the kick name for killing ability. knock down power means the enemy wont get back up not because the round knocked him down but because he is dead
@ArmyPsyco no...knock down power is referring to knocking someone down. A m16 can kill a man just as good as an ak-47 the thing the m16 cant do is stop someone in their tracks by knocking them down.
@darkreaper104 wrong. the 5.56 round in the m16 work great in the beginning fighting a structured military enemy, because it wounded a combatant severely by bouncing around inside there bodies tearing muscles. then a team mate would have to drag the off the battle field there fore getting rid of 2 enemies with one shot. while a 7.62 round will kill on the 1st or 2nd shot. you can tell me how great the 5.56x45mm round is after you deploy.
@ArmyPsyco the problem is is that thats great for taking out unarmoured troops i absolutely agree, the problem is is that future wars are going to be bullet proof vests and kevlar, the 5.56 just dosent have the power to penetrate most vests. But then again, different weapon for every diferent battle
@CentrePeice i agree completely! im not a fan of the 5.56 round at all i you read my statements its shows that. now the new 5.56 round we're using i do really like. its tungsten tipped armor piercing round. but if i had the choice id wouldn't be carrying and M16 firing 5.56, id have an xcr firing 6.8. it honestly my favorite assault rifle
@ArmyPsyco Have you ever read the book Black Hawk Down? It is non-fiction and excellently written. The author was a reporter and did a really good job. He interviewed members of the delta force that took part in the battle. One of the members recalled shooting and hitting his targets as they ran across the street. The bullets would pass right through their body and they would get behind something and be able to fire off rounds still.
@flipflopking56 i dont know if youve ever been in anything even close to combat, but when a the recommended cleaning rate is once after every shot i put it down, and that is the beowulf and all mass produced ar 15 varients. And i dont know about you but i find aks pretty easy to hit my target at long range. longer then the beowulf could even dream of, and honestly id rather hit first hit hard and keep hitting then having to get within 200 meters of and easy target and jam
@stratagie1 for one thing hes a navy seal sniper, he uses snipers not assualt rifles. and he even edmitted to liking the ak platform over ar 15 varriants. I respect him and what he has done for the free world I am not bashing him, and for gods sake its youtube calm down. I am simply saying that ar 15 varriants are not reliable, and that 200 meter range is too low
@stratagie1 then obviously you play too much call of duty. The m16 and m16 varients are known for being low powered and unreliable. In vietnam soldiers would drop their m16 and pick up ak 47 for their power and reliability.
You have just really pissed me off. Unfortunately i don't have time to play cod because i'm usually the other side of the fucking world in Afghanistan. You are right the m16 is unreliable in Vietnam but the modern variants are a lot more reliable. Do you even know why the m16 was unreliable in Vietnam ?????i do
@stratagie1 im sorry i offened you, but honestly, ive just seen too many m16a4s explode in the operators hands and jam when mud gets in the chamber. My definition of reliablility is to never stop until destroyed. The ak has proven itself further. An ak 47 was dropped during a soviet parachute run out of a plane. It fell in the mud and was run over buy a tank. It kept shooting. That is reliable. For current war ill edmitt that it meets starndards, but war vs. professional soldiers no
@CentrePeice You got that right! U.S. soldier in Vietnam even began switching their m-16's for AK's they took from dead Vietcong. However, they immediately stopped doing that because the AK has such a special sound that whn they used it they got shot by their fellow soldiers.
@Mrnokiarokia Actually i do know alot about the m16. I know that its design is so flawed that a forward assist is needed in case the bullet cannot be loaded by the bolt, I know it fires a 5.56 which though accurate has little stopping power and can be easily stopped by body armour. I know that the magazine is flawed causing jams. I know that there is a high chance that if submerged then fired the bolt may explode. I also know it is crushed by the tavor 21
@CentrePeice well yes sorry about saying that don't know much , but i don't agree with you that it's un-reliable beacuse it it's reliable just as any assault rifle well not like the AK in general but it's ok rifle it had fix up's when it first entered vietnam and if you ask me the AR-10 was the way to go the AR-15's 5.56 is puny compared to the 7.62 but i find it strange that AK's like the AK-74 and in general built on the 74 design use 5.56

32sane 6 months ago
@32sane i agree with that 100%
antguida88 4 months ago
@paranoid19851 Yes your correct basically the m16 was the first weapon that had to be cleaned and the forces never trained the soldiers back then how to clean there rifles and never gave them the equipment to do so. Some soldiers even used the m1a1 Thompson for reliability
stratagie1 6 months ago
I would enjoy Future Weapons a lot more if they didn't put silly sound effects over the guns. Oh, and anyone else find it funny how the younger Chris Barrett looked exactly like Chris Griffin from Family Guy?

captainkillaHD 6 months ago
Just get an M14, it has everything a soldier needs on the modern battlefield. It has an accurate range to 700 meters. It's very reliable. It can use full auto if needed. It can fit a bipod, grenade launcher, or a scope to fit into different roles. And it has enough power to kill a man in only 1-2 shots. That's way better than an M16 or an AK-47. More accurate than an AK, and more powerful than an M16. It's perfect.
scubagamer95 6 months ago
@scubagamer95 The problem with this- the M-14 is too bulky in some scenarios.
BloodStainedSand 6 months ago
@BloodStainedSand Yeah, I guess. It can be a bit heavy for some soldiers. I bet they could make it out of lighter materials to decrease weight. I have heard that they did that with something called the M14 EBR, but they took off a lot of the useful features seen on the original model as a result.

@jdslipknot You're right. COD is the best place to learn. Nobody has enough money to test all those weapons side by side but in COD everyone can.

@jdslipknot i was thinking the same thing. thank you so much. :)

@jdslipknot I bet the first time the AK47 fags shoot the AK (if they ever do) i bet they will make an attempt to go all call of duty style and end up setting it on fire.

so will this be the new American Assault Rifle ? i mean you guys need a new weapon the M16 is like 40 years old whilst the rest of your kit is more up to date with modern times here in the UK we have introduced new combat weapons to our troops but we still use the SA80A2 as a standard issue Rifle for our Forces i think we need to update our infantry weapons lads to improve not only our kill to death but to also do the job in 1 bullet peace from the UK God Bless

m16 and m4s are still great it doesnt it has a lot to do with the calibur but the speed of the bullet is even more important who cares if it knocks down a target it still kills it
MrNoah898 7 months ago
@MrNoah898 your a moron. knock down power it the kick name for killing ability. knock down power means the enemy wont get back up not because the round knocked him down but because he is dead
ArmyPsyco 7 months ago
@ArmyPsyco no...knock down power is referring to knocking someone down. A m16 can kill a man just as good as an ak-47 the thing the m16 cant do is stop someone in their tracks by knocking them down.
darkreaper104 7 months ago
@darkreaper104 wrong. the 5.56 round in the m16 work great in the beginning fighting a structured military enemy, because it wounded a combatant severely by bouncing around inside there bodies tearing muscles. then a team mate would have to drag the off the battle field there fore getting rid of 2 enemies with one shot. while a 7.62 round will kill on the 1st or 2nd shot. you can tell me how great the 5.56x45mm round is after you deploy.
ArmyPsyco 7 months ago
@ArmyPsyco the problem is is that thats great for taking out unarmoured troops i absolutely agree, the problem is is that future wars are going to be bullet proof vests and kevlar, the 5.56 just dosent have the power to penetrate most vests. But then again, different weapon for every diferent battle
CentrePeice 7 months ago
@CentrePeice i agree completely! im not a fan of the 5.56 round at all i you read my statements its shows that. now the new 5.56 round we're using i do really like. its tungsten tipped armor piercing round. but if i had the choice id wouldn't be carrying and M16 firing 5.56, id have an xcr firing 6.8. it honestly my favorite assault rifle
ArmyPsyco 5 months ago
@ArmyPsyco Have you ever read the book Black Hawk Down? It is non-fiction and excellently written. The author was a reporter and did a really good job. He interviewed members of the delta force that took part in the battle. One of the members recalled shooting and hitting his targets as they ran across the street. The bullets would pass right through their body and they would get behind something and be able to fire off rounds still.
darkreaper104 6 months ago
@ArmyPsyco I'm happy you brought up that the 5.56 bounces around in the body, its actually can do much more damage in some cases.

I laughed when he called the m16 reliable
CentrePeice 8 months ago 65
@CentrePeice well kinda if you know how to clean it properly but still AK 47 is far more reliable
01misheel 7 months ago
@CentrePeice It is to an extent. Not as reliable as an AK but the accuracy is far superior. Lethality is another thing, Its all about shot placement
flipflopking56 7 months ago
@flipflopking56 i dont know if youve ever been in anything even close to combat, but when a the recommended cleaning rate is once after every shot i put it down, and that is the beowulf and all mass produced ar 15 varients. And i dont know about you but i find aks pretty easy to hit my target at long range. longer then the beowulf could even dream of, and honestly id rather hit first hit hard and keep hitting then having to get within 200 meters of and easy target and jam
CentrePeice 7 months ago
@CentrePeice Your an asshole you got any combat experience at all???
this guy is an ex fucking navy seal he has done shit with a gun you can only dream of
stratagie1 6 months ago
@stratagie1 for one thing hes a navy seal sniper, he uses snipers not assualt rifles. and he even edmitted to liking the ak platform over ar 15 varriants. I respect him and what he has done for the free world I am not bashing him, and for gods sake its youtube calm down. I am simply saying that ar 15 varriants are not reliable, and that 200 meter range is too low
CentrePeice 6 months ago
@CentrePeice M16 is what u said
stratagie1 6 months ago
@stratagie1 then obviously you play too much call of duty. The m16 and m16 varients are known for being low powered and unreliable. In vietnam soldiers would drop their m16 and pick up ak 47 for their power and reliability.
CentrePeice 6 months ago
@CentrePeice I play too much cod!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have just really pissed me off. Unfortunately i don't have time to play cod because i'm usually the other side of the fucking world in Afghanistan. You are right the m16 is unreliable in Vietnam but the modern variants are a lot more reliable. Do you even know why the m16 was unreliable in Vietnam ?????i do
stratagie1 6 months ago
@stratagie1 im sorry i offened you, but honestly, ive just seen too many m16a4s explode in the operators hands and jam when mud gets in the chamber. My definition of reliablility is to never stop until destroyed. The ak has proven itself further. An ak 47 was dropped during a soviet parachute run out of a plane. It fell in the mud and was run over buy a tank. It kept shooting. That is reliable. For current war ill edmitt that it meets starndards, but war vs. professional soldiers no
CentrePeice 6 months ago
@CentrePeice OK man thanks for the apology just to let you know I've seen AK-47 jam and most of the Russian military use the AK-108 now anyway
stratagie1 6 months ago
@CentrePeice i mean its definitely not reliable like the ak-47, but its a damn good gun.
epilogmusic 6 months ago
@CentrePeice and ive fired both when i went to fort bragg on their range. both great guns.
epilogmusic 6 months ago
@CentrePeice why would u laugh
verdantforce88 6 months ago
@CentrePeice You got that right! U.S. soldier in Vietnam even began switching their m-16's for AK's they took from dead Vietcong. However, they immediately stopped doing that because the AK has such a special sound that whn they used it they got shot by their fellow soldiers.
TigersHalle13 6 months ago
@CentrePeice he was saying that you can count on it to fail.
mrkashnizzle 6 months ago
@CentrePeice mabey he was thinking m4 or ar1 or something after the original body design
eyesetokillfan546 6 months ago
@CentrePeice you obviusly don't know much about the m16 do you?
Mrnokiarokia 6 months ago
@Mrnokiarokia Actually i do know alot about the m16. I know that its design is so flawed that a forward assist is needed in case the bullet cannot be loaded by the bolt, I know it fires a 5.56 which though accurate has little stopping power and can be easily stopped by body armour. I know that the magazine is flawed causing jams. I know that there is a high chance that if submerged then fired the bolt may explode. I also know it is crushed by the tavor 21
CentrePeice 6 months ago
@CentrePeice well yes sorry about saying that don't know much , but i don't agree with you that it's un-reliable beacuse it it's reliable just as any assault rifle well not like the AK in general but it's ok rifle it had fix up's when it first entered vietnam and if you ask me the AR-10 was the way to go the AR-15's 5.56 is puny compared to the 7.62 but i find it strange that AK's like the AK-74 and in general built on the 74 design use 5.56
Mrnokiarokia 6 months ago
@CentrePeice it depends, if your running it with piston or di
TheCivilianSoldier 6 months ago
