I quit shopping Wal Mart two years ago after being asked for my reciept as I left the store.I won't be treated like a criminal for shopping at a store. Wal Mart is just a scary place to shop. Before Wal Mart we never had stores known for violence and abuse. Wal Mart is one of the new American viruses and needs to be erradicated from the planet.
what the hell was she doing there if she was off the clock and without a nametag?? if she was on break why didnt that lazy ass retard just go to a mcdonalds or something for a snack?? i would...
are yall crazy?? she made this to get support!! on the clock or not its just right to help someone when they ask where something is. especially someone of this ladys age (no offense) its like telling a little old lady to walk thierselves across the street cuz youre on the phone. and to administrativassociate or whatever.. its kansas... what if there is no big signs?? ever thought about that or are you that stupid to not see that the employee could of just lifted her arm and point a finger?
Yes the girl should have been nice, and give some "time to help someone" but she didnt, she said im off the clock, Thats the girls decsion and so what!!!!!!!!!, she shouldnt be judged, and the woman,
sry dont know ur names, you ask once, and even tho the girl might seem rude, i understand asking one more time but after that, just find another employee. and mam you shouldnt be judged either. Just think the girl was rude to u, u were being rude to her to keep asking her the same question over and over, two wrongs dont make one right
All I get from your video is that you're a total twat sack, lady. What the hell is wrong with you that you asked her 6 times anyway? She's on her break for cryin' out loud, leave her the hell alone already.
Off the clock or not..what is the problem to be nice??? Working there or not, it should be not a problem to help others if they ask you a question...Please!! This is just crazy...
And the comments to just find it yourself..Wow..Don't try to tell me you never in your life asked somebody to help you find sth!?!
And to get problems from your boss by helping a customer while you are "off the clock"!?!?? This is almost funny...No words for that! ; )
Customers verbally abuse me everyday, and when training they are told that we have to be on the clock to even tell people where stuff is, we can we coached for doing that!!! I back the girl I am sorry. It is not that hard to ind someone that is on the clock. If your not clocked in you should not have to help people, you should be able to enjoy your shopping.
Question. your mother is probably elderly, but HOW FUCKING STUPID ARE YOU? You blindly walk around a store asking OTHER CUSTOMERS where stuff is?..WOW ...just WOW, if that were me I would have to be like "Im really sorry for wasting your time but I am a fucking idiot, do you have any idea where they hide the dog treats in this place?" and come on, you call this abuse? I think asking a stupid question 6 times is more along the lines of abuse.
As me being someonethat works at wal-mart, you are NOT suppose to work off the clock. Asking her where something is is considered working. Walmart policy and it can get the employee fired. She did the right thing and was just following the rules.
As I understand you were obnoxious enough to make the question 6 times knownig she was not going to help you, are you kidding me? If she was out of the clock and she told you since the beginning, sorry, why you kept on with the question. You are out of the line.
i have had people like you yell at me to check them out on a cash register when i was in line buying my stuff off the clock dont complain about your poor visit get a brain walmart employees are people to we do not have to be nice when we are not working just like you dont
when a walmart employee is off the clock they can get fired for helping anyone yes its silly but thats walmart for you you should have just asked someone else instead of being an ass and asking the same question over and over i'm sure it would have just killed you to find another person maybe one with a name badge on
You acted like a jerk. She did not even have to talk to you. Seriously, walmart frowns on us even pointing out directions. Once she tld you she was off the clock you should have left her alone. There are signs there for a reason. Use them.
Your in the wrong when she said once I am off the clock leave it at that if your piss off dont make a vid they dont care call corp office but to ask more then once make you look like the, dick not the other person
why would you ask some stranger where the dog food isle was? and if they say they are off the clock it means they cant help you... but you decided to be a smart ass and continue asking the question...fucking assholes like you ruin this country and should be shot.

To be honest retail these days sucks because employees have no rights to defend themselves you say the service was bad but chances are that bad service is the creation of shithead customers who go into stores like walmart and treat customers like crap so next time when you decide to post something like this con
She shouldn't have to help you, since she's off duty. Same thing with a taxi cab driver, if the driver is off duty, he/she doesn't have to pick you up. You decided to make it a big deal and could've just asked a different employee. It would've been as simple as that. That's why when I'm on my break, I get out of the store as far away as I can so stuff like that doesn't happen.
omg...who actually gives a crap?, you sound like a stuck up bitch anyway who would be a bitchy annoying customer by the sound of it, fair enough the employee was a bit rude but can you get the hell over yourself?, its pretty sad that youd actually make a vid aswell just so you can feel better. I find it hard to believe how you had trouble finding the dog treats, dont you have a good sense of smell? After all you are a dog. Haha your prethetic!

You couldn't find the dog food but you had to go out of your way to find three managers to report a woman who told you five times that she wasnt working. It was her choice not to help you. You had no right to harass her. Get a life.

Used to work at walmart..... and its company policy becuase people get fired for working off the clock i think its stupid but you kno what fuck walmart
Sorry she acted like that to you and your mom I work at Walmart and i help customers with stuff all the time off the clock its all about customer service and that is suppose to be Walmarts number one policy always

I don't think she abused you, If thats your definition of abuse try working with the public and find out what real abuse is. If I was you and asked I would have asked someone elce or looked my self.
I used to work at CVS/pharmacy. There was one particular day I remember where I had worked a 10 hour shift and was finally leaving the store. I had been there since 6 in the morning and it was well after my time to get off. As I was leaving someone stopped to ask me to get something out of the perfume case. I didn't say I had just clocked out, but instead went and got the key and got them what they needed. What's the point of being a jerk if you don't need to be, right?
hi my mom and i were at the H-E-B and we asked this lady where are the candles and she said I DONT EVEN WORK HERE! Y R U ASKIN ME GO ASK A CASHIER OR SOMETHIN! GO AWAY!
By the way the part I really love is when you said you didn't know she worked there until after you asked her, who the hell stops random customers and asks them questions about the store they're in, that place has SIGNS all over the place that tell you where items are. Also....the dogfood aisle is in fact in pets, maybe you can find it next time without stopping people who are off and just want to get out of the store without being bombarded with stupid questions by lazy people.
@ShunGokuSatsu30 Lazy? I'm physically handicapped and it's quite painful to walk for blocks around and around a huge store where I can't see a pet department marked anywhere, which is exactly what I'd been doing when I finally asked who I thought was another shopper. And yes, shoppers ask one another all the time if they can point each other in the right direction. Common courtesy. I do it for shoppers all the time.
@myaggie2 You're able enough to walk into the store and shop and walk around until you find a manager so you can complain on this associate who is ON HER OWN TIME so you should be able to enough to follow the signs that say Pets ==> (this way) and get your precious dogfood. So you're obviously not THAT handicapped. And once again I guess it was your first trip to the store, otherwise you'd know where the dogfood is.
@ShunGokuSatsu30 Yes there are millions and millions of courageous people who live in constant pain never asking others to do for them what they can accomplish themselves, no matter how painful. I'm really sorry sir, but there in no just excuse on earth for someone to behave as she did, even had she been just the co-shopper we thought. But when you represent a company & treat customers abusively you deserve to be fired. Especially when she went out of her way to inform us she is an employee.
Let me explain something to you, when someone is OFF, the last thing they want is someone stopping them and asking them about their work. They're on their own time, and it's customers like YOU who make these associates have attitudes, let's look at the question you asked..."where is the dogfood aisle?"...maybe it's in Pets? Just a thought. Maybe it was your first time in walmart, who knows...
@ShunGokuSatsu30 Of course we'd never been in that store. As I said, we're from out of state. But again, there is no excuse for this behavior. How long could it take to point her finger? She spent 20 times longer doing what she did than if she would have just pointed. If I had an employee who came into my company when they were off duty and treated my customers like that I'd fire them immediately. Then they could be off the clock all they want.
@myaggie2 Out of town or not, who has NEVER been to a walmart store before, and if she DID point her finger you'd have probably complained for her not speaking. To her it was more than likely the principle of the matter., whether it was 20 minutes out of her time or not, I think it's frigging hilarious a manager finally backed up an employee at walmart when some RUDE and LAZY customer decided to complain on them for TRYING to go to their break.
@ShunGokuSatsu30 Sir, you obviously will refuse to see abusive behavior where it exists. I respect your opinion. You respect mine. Good bye. Have the best day ever.
here the thing, I get stopped daily when I am on break THEN I get called on an over timed break bc I helped a customer during my break. rock and a hard place is pretty much the issue here.
@CourtneysAuntSara I totally understand what you're saying. But how long could it take her to point her finger. She wouldn't even have to speak. She spent 20 times longer doing what she did than if she would have just pointed. And we had no idea she was an employee. But if I had an employee who came into my company when they were off duty and treated my customers like that I'd fire her immediately. Then she could be off the clock all she wanted. See my point?
I used to work for Wal-Mart, and I hate to admit it, but Wal-Mart does not allow employees to work off the clock! They are trained to let customers know that they are "off the clock." However, they say, that you can help a customer who is seeking help, and make sure to account for your time spent and let your manager know right away that you did help a customer off the clock. She had the right to tell you she was off the clock, but, human decency says that she could have been nice about it.
@lazylady33 I do understand what you're saying. But the fact remains, we never asked her to work. We asked what we thought was another customer for directions. That can in no way be construed as working.

if it's something that would really require me to work i get an associate that is on the clock... it's called customer service... walmart is supposed to be big on keeping the customer's happy... even off the clock just the tiniest of effort isn't necessarily working... it's being nice and friendly
as a Walmart department manager I appologize to you for the experience. Unfortunately the girl had no choice but to say she was off the clock and couldn't help you, it's company policy... HOWEVER... I personally have been approached hundreds of times when i was off the clock, and even when i was in on my day off shopping and each time if it was something as simple as pointing down two aisles i do it...
@tat2edwhitetrash69 I do understand what you say about "working." But asking who we thought was another customer for directions can in no way be considered working. I've wondered what her answer would be if a motorist rolled down their window and asked her how to get to WalMarts. I can't even fathom that girls thinking. But I tip my hat to you for being so considerate as to give directions to shoppers whether or not you work there.
You both have valid points. Obviously, a person in a managerial position will actually "work" during their break since they are vested in the store (yes, you can argue all employees should feel like this, but at minimum wage, most workers don't). Although you didn't know she was an employee, you repeated the question to her after she told you she was an employee. Therefore, you should've stopped asking her Q's since you now knew about her employment.
Walmart screwed me over today on a legitimate return with a receipt, when I asked for the store Manager, they sent over some two bit customer service Manager. I asked for the Store Manager and they tried to duck me. I had to ask them 3 times for the Store Manager for them to finally tell me he went home for the day. They are a joke and I will never, ever shop there again. I will take my money to Target from now on.
Imagine that poor girl was on her 15-minute break and she used it all up to take you to find "your" dog's food!!! What would she get in return but a simple "thank you"? Or do you really believe the people you talk good about get the raise you recommend? It's not like you were having an emergency and someone denied their help to you! May the Lord have Mercy of those who have no Mercy for others! Poor girl!...
@ixim2010 This "poor girl" was not on a break of any kind. She had no work clothes on. She was, as she said, "off the clock." She was there shopping herself I must assume.
All she had to do was point to get us to the dog food aisle. Any normal human would have done so.
As to those getting the raises we recommend, NO, they probably don't, but I know for a fact that employees who garner unsolicited praise for their work do get the promotions first, which is in fact "a raise."
@ixim2010 15 minutes? It wouldn't have taken her 10 seconds. I'm sorry, but I can't even fathom the reasoning behind this kind of behavior. The "poor girl" deserved to be fired on the spot. Plain and simple.
@myaggie2 And you need to be banned from the damn store, that girl deserves a medal for standing up to a lazy ass moron who can't locate something as common as pet supplies.
@myaggie2 no she did the right thing, when not clocked in we can get coached or fired for working off the clock (and yes even that is working according to walmart).and I am not trying to fight I am just letting you knwo that she really could have gotten in trouble.
@ixim2010 I am going to take a crazy guess that you are a part of the new generation. The one that does not know what good work ethics looks like. Nor common curtisy, friendliness, and above all selflessness.
Your last comment on the Lords Mercy, ! She asked where the dog food was located!
With all your respect, it was the most ridiculous experience in existence! How are you going to report an employee who is off the clock? When you punch out, you are off duty, you are honored your break to walk around, eat or drink something, call your significant other, I mean, you are not getting paid when you are on your break ma'am!
@ixim2010 The purpose of reporting an employee who is off the clock is obviously so that her emploryers will know of her ill-treatment of their customers. Would you want someone like that working for you, representing what you company stands for?
I quit shopping Wal Mart two years ago after being asked for my reciept as I left the store.I won't be treated like a criminal for shopping at a store. Wal Mart is just a scary place to shop. -if the manager had given you a free giftcard you probably would have never made this video.
-your time is only important to yourself.
-the dog treats are probably in the same place they were the last time you were in the store.
-you must have never worked in retail. Be proud of that.
-you really need a hobby.
-Asking the same question multiple times gets you the same answer multiple times.
AssociateAdvocate79 5 months ago 21
- Off the clock means off the clock. Employees can be terminated for working off the clock. Especially if they are already in hot water.
-Managers don't give raises based on customer compliments. Praise, maybe.
-You couldn't identify her as an employee, so you had no business asking her anything.
-You could have looked up and read the big signs the store spends lots of money on.
-the corporate office won't watch this video or care.

ShunGokuSatsu30 1 year ago
@ShunGokuSatsu30 Lazy? I'm physically handicapped and it's quite painful to walk for blocks around and around a huge store where I can't see a pet department marked anywhere, which is exactly what I'd been doing when I finally asked who I thought was another shopper. And yes, shoppers ask one another all the time if they can point each other in the right direction. Common courtesy. I do it for shoppers all the time.
myaggie2 11 months ago
@myaggie2 You're able enough to walk into the store and shop and walk around until you find a manager so you can complain on this associate who is ON HER OWN TIME so you should be able to enough to follow the signs that say Pets ==> (this way) and get your precious dogfood. So you're obviously not THAT handicapped. And once again I guess it was your first trip to the store, otherwise you'd know where the dogfood is.
ShunGokuSatsu30 11 months ago

ShunGokuSatsu30 1 year ago
@ShunGokuSatsu30 Of course we'd never been in that store. As I said, we're from out of state. But again, there is no excuse for this behavior. How long could it take to point her finger? She spent 20 times longer doing what she did than if she would have just pointed. If I had an employee who came into my company when they were off duty and treated my customers like that I'd fire them immediately. Then they could be off the clock all they want.
myaggie2 11 months ago
@myaggie2 Out of town or not, who has NEVER been to a walmart store before, and if she DID point her finger you'd have probably complained for her not speaking. To her it was more than likely the principle of the matter., whether it was 20 minutes out of her time or not, I think it's frigging hilarious a manager finally backed up an employee at walmart when some RUDE and LAZY customer decided to complain on them for TRYING to go to their break.
ShunGokuSatsu30 11 months ago
@ShunGokuSatsu30 Sir, you obviously will refuse to see abusive behavior where it exists. I respect your opinion. You respect mine. Good bye. Have the best day ever.

here the thing, I get stopped daily when I am on break THEN I get called on an over timed break bc I helped a customer during my break. rock and a hard place is pretty much the issue here.

@CourtneysAuntSara I totally understand what you're saying. But how long could it take her to point her finger. She wouldn't even have to speak.

She had the right to tell you she was off the clock, but, human decency says that she could have been nice about it.
lazylady33 1 year ago
@lazylady33 I do understand what you're saying. But the fact remains, we never asked her to work. We asked what we thought was another customer for directions. That can in no way be construed as working.

if it's something that would really require me to work i get an associate that is on the clock... it's called customer service... walmart is supposed to be big on keeping the customer's happy... even off the clock just the tiniest of effort isn't necessarily working... it's being nice and friendly
tat2edwhitetrash69 1 year ago
as a Walmart department manager I appologize to you for the experience. Unfortunately the girl had no choice but to say she was off the clock and couldn't help you, it's company policy... HOWEVER... I personally have been approached hundreds of times when i was off the clock, and even when i was in on my day off shopping and each time if it was something as simple as pointing down two aisles i do it...
tat2edwhitetrash69 1 year ago 2
@tat2edwhitetrash69 I do understand what you say about "working." But asking who we thought was another customer for directions can in no way be considered working. I've wondered what her answer would be if a motorist rolled down their window and asked her how to get to WalMarts. I can't even fathom that girls thinking. But I tip my hat to you for being so considerate as to give directions to shoppers whether or not you work there.
myaggie2 11 months ago
@myaggie2

Poor girl!...
ixim2010 1 year ago 4
@ixim2010 This "poor girl" was not on a break of any kind. She had no work clothes on. She was, as she said, "off the clock." She was there shopping herself I must assume.
All she had to do was point to get us to the dog food aisle. Any normal human would have done so.
As to those getting the raises we recommend, NO, they probably don't, but I know for a fact that employees who garner unsolicited praise for their work do get the promotions first, which is in fact "a raise."
myaggie2 1 year ago
@ixim2010 15 minutes? It wouldn't have taken her 10 seconds. I'm sorry, but I can't even fathom the reasoning behind this kind of behavior. The "poor girl" deserved to be fired on the spot. Plain and simple.
myaggie2 11 months ago

This generation (most of)=SCARY!

With all your respect, it was the most ridiculous experience in existence! How are you going to report an employee who is off the clock? When you punch out, you are off duty, you are honored your break to walk around, eat or drink something, call your significant other, I mean, you are not getting paid when you are on your break ma'am!
ixim2010 1 year ago 2
@ixim2010 The purpose of reporting an employee who is off the clock is obviously so that her emploryers will know of her ill-treatment of their customers. Would you want someone like that working for you, representing what you company stands for?

saying Im OFF the clock is NOT abuse.
