  • I think men are more effected by breakups then women. Sure we try to hide it by acting tuff but we're not. I've seen many men after a breakup never go out with another women. Women say the opposite. But I see women that never get married again date around alot, but men just tend to go into their cave ... or like billy Joel said a room inside their heart.... and shut down

  • God I miss these times

  • Does he tour anymore? God, I'd love to see him again.

  • Lobo is a very talented singer and his music is just as good as it always has been !

  • BEAUTIFULEST SONG!!!!

  • Lobo Rocks, Great Song, So Relaxing.

  • Does anyone know if lobo performs anymore in Florida and if he has any upcoming shows ? Since we are on the "were is he now subject", how about Tony Burrows. Did he do lead vocals for Eddison Lighthouse and White Plains at the same time ? And does he perform shows anymore ? Thanks

  • OMG! I so remembered the lyrics...scary....he sounds great!!

  • I never purchased music back when & I'm never likely to. Not that I'm saying it's bad, but his syrupy style isn't my taste

  • awesome tune !!!

  • this song reminds me of my 20 years, and heart problems

  • Love it!!!

  • Im surprised no one has mentioned that this is not the original Lobo version. He must have re -recorded this song because this is definitely NOT the hit version from the Of A Simple Man LP.

  • I HAVE NEVER ENJOYED BALLADS. But this song creeps into my mind's ear on a regular unexpected basis. Very whistleable tune.

  • I see that we have an expert on mule dicks. Great! Thanks BlankfrackCripledFUK. Keep us updated on your favorite pastime.

PS: Thanks sonyago for a great video.

  • Nice tune from back when. Thanks for posting .

  • Great tune!

  • He lives in Detroit Michigan. He is Anglo-Catholic Episcopal.

  • Kent LaVoie (LOBO) was born in Tallahassee, Florida but grew up in Winter Haven. He was one of my classmates. We graduated high school in 1961. We just recently had our 50th high school reunion and LOBO honored our class by giving us a wonderful gift. He sang three of his songs at our reunion dance. What a special treat and one that I'll forever be grateful for -- Thanks Kent!

  • @tjahn72543 he's a relative of mine as my grandmother said we were second cousins "once removed" whatever that means. I thought he moved to Nashville to write.

  • @tjahn72543 I graduated high school in 1973 and I've listened to Lobo since the late 60s. I've always been a big fan. I really wish he would do a tour of the Gulf Coast casinos.

  • this music was the best of the 1970s, and now its still number one, 40 years later, we are still listing to this music on the radio, nothing needs to be said i guess.

  • one of the greatest "break-up "songs of the 70's!! ROCK ON!!

  • This is a great song because I have had woman break it off and they say that they want to be friends

  • Como dice alguien por ahi, musica para enamorados y perdedores, pero para mi la mejor cancion de Lobo.

  • Guys, listen to " rain" by Lobo- cool one.

  • Remember this song in college. Great song. I always liked Lobo.

  • Met him once in Sarasota. He was pretty cool. I just wish he hadn't dropped out of sight over the years. His albums are hard to find.

  • well he's coming to perform a one-night concert at Downtown East,Pasir Ris..near the place I stay!!!!

  • have loved the song for years but this video kinda creeps me out .. looks like he's stalking her in a custody battle taking place in some Asian country

  • At the present time, Lakeland, FL

  • ANNIE TE AMO CON TODA MI ALMA --VICTOR,SAN JUAN DE MIRAFLORES --P E R U

  • One of the greatest songs ever.. and most of us can relate.

  • Yo te quiero mucho pero no esperes que sea solo tu amigo, animate mujer.

  • @medicoenamorado. Que hermosa declaración de amor, espero que haya aceptado tu amor. Saludos!!! ANA

  • @medicoenamorado y porque no se lo dices tu??? animate!!!!!!

  • Hmmm...Something fishy here...For some reason, this doesn't sound like the Lobo "Don't Expect For Me To Be Your Friend" 45 I used to hear on the radio back in the early 1970s...Could this version be an older Lobo?

  • just love this song too much!!!!!!

  • i love lobo forever, his songs returned me happy years.....

  • Muito bom...saudades desse tempo...

  • bonito tema!!!

  • Several love songs that are very beautiful. Where Were You When I Was Falling in Love, I'd Love You to Want Me, How Can I Tell Her to name a few. I lost track of him many years ago so it is nice to find his songs on YouTube. Nice voice, nice melodies and music for lovers and losers.

  • @newhotman1001 I have always loved his clear melodious voice and his songs. I'm a sap for songs like Lobo put out back in the day. Also, like you, I've often wondered why he didn't go on in his career. His style is a lot like Bread's, another sweet sound of the seventies, who seemed to fade out of existence. At the time this song came out, I was having some of the best times of my life; unfettered and carefree, so I couldn't relate to it personally but it touched my heart nonetheless.

  • dddd

  • Most women can't understand why most of us men just can't handle being just friends. Maybe this will make you finally understand ladies? Words of truth and wisdom! God bless!

  • @ARomanceFor2

Many times, they'll want to be 'friends' so it doesn't make them look like the bad guy. Guys probably do the same thing to women as well. No one wants to take responsibility for their actions, it seems...

  • @ARomanceFor2 I don't mean to sound contentious and I stand to be corrected but from the majority of the men I've met, I've had the direct opposite opinion. It's always seemed to me that men would rather just be friends. To fall in love meant they were pussy whipped and "real" men didn't go there. Well, now that I'm older, wiser and single again, the tables have turned. Guilty as charged, I expect nothing more than friendship and never will again.

  • @Palaverer

Well not all men are insensitive badboy jerks. There are some nice guys in the world that still believe in the sanctity of marriage... you know, those guys that most women call whimps, losers and boring, when actually all we are, are loving, sensitive and respectful dreamers and hopeless romantics that still believe in chivalry. Sadly, there's a lot less tender, good loving and down to Earth "all woman" left in this world... and far too many spoiled and selfish princesses.

  • @ARomanceFor2 You're right about the spoiled and selfish princesses. As the bad boys are to the last of the good guys, so are these princesses to "all woman" women. They make us all look bad. So I can honestly say, "I feel your pain." As for me, I guess I'm getting too old for the games and trying to sift out the good from the bad and "hiding in my room, safe within my womb, I touch no one and no one touches me."

  • @Palaverer

Fair enough! We have all gotten hurt at one time or another, that's just part of life unfortunately. Good luck in your healing and future endevors.

  • @ARomanceFor2

That's because guy friends are their insurance policy. if something doesn't go right or they don't get the personal attributes that they want from the guy they are with they can get it from their friend. I got wise to this a few years ago and and never would be friends with chicks I liked but didn't want to be with me. I tell them, I'm not here to fill in for what he doesn't do and have him get the glory or a free pass ....

  • @ARomanceFor2 Defiantly AR

  • @ARomanceFor2 I think it is because if something(someone) hasn't make you any damage you don't have "reasonable" motives to avoid it(her). I think to "start linking" someone you love isn't that kind of situations where you can use the "all OR null" without losing, at least as a person.

  • Lobo is always young and also his songsssssssssss

  • This is how I felt when my girlfriend of 3 years cheated on me , and then wanted to be friends.I broke up with her, and married someone else. That was 36 years ago .....and I still love my old girfriend today

  • I can relate... Seems we'll always love the ones from our youth...when it was new and that 'Feeling" was vibrant!
