@saturn025, not that radical. Aunt Harriet joined Wayne Manor, that is to say the pages of BATMAN and DETECTIVE COMICS, in 1965 when major retooling of the Batman mythos was going on. Alfred was killed off and that was when Mrs. Cooper showed up. Until the BATMAN TV series came along, Alfred was going to stay dead. So in order to reintroduce Alfred, he was explained as having had amnesia and became a creature known as The Outsider, who, ironically, kept trying to kill the Dynamic Duo.

Okay, here's a radical twist in the plot. If Harriet Cooper is Dick Grayson's aunt, then how was Bruce able to get custody? I mean, legally, the state would've looked into whether or not Dick had any other family and, finding that he obviously does, would've gone to her first. Even if Bruce, seeing what happened and able to emphasize, offered them a home with him out of the goodness of his heart, Dick still shouldn't be called his ward!

...These are the issues that haunt me...

Why didn't Robin, the circus-trained acrobat, get up on BM's shoulders and jam a fist into the opening for the sand, sealing it? Would have bought them time, at a minimum, and been really stable b/c the sand was up to BM's hips by that time. This ep makes less and less sense, physically, as you look at it. No doubt the shooting sked -- Bill Finger, the co-creator, was prob. under pressure to come up with stuff a day or less in advance of shooting.

Has the clock king really defeated the dynamic dou, ? will the caped crusaders indentity be revealed to the whole world?"
