search Google to see Etihad was certified to land in CAT III conditions in January 2009, before I flew! Other airlines landed ok so what were they doing? CAT III means you are allowed to land even in low visibility
In my experience Etihad not only promotes a product different to that received, but you do not get what you have paid for , or think you have booked, either ... you have been warned
In my experience Etihad breaches contracts aswell as promises.
What airline doesnt compensate or accommodate passengers in hotels for a delay of 24 hours when this is clear breach of IATA's code of conduct aswell as breaking EU legislation... be warned Etihad airways is a disaster waiting to happen, mark my words
nobody can help weather but if other airlines have only minor delays, how can a 24 hour ordeal be justified? they shouldnt have taken off from London in the first place- I have also flown to Abu Dhabi numerous times before without a problem but I had never flown with Etihad before... try Qatar, Gulf air or Emirates..
If Etihad cared for its passengers the inflight entertainment system would work we would have received meal vouchers when in the airport and as required under International regulations aswell. Etihad breached its contract with passengers and tried to disown them... women and children were in tears and most people were refused accommodation aswell as being refused refreshments.
This is totally untrue if you read the actual facts I have described.
FACT 1, most airlines took off and landed on that day with no diversions and only minor delays. How can many airlines land and take off except for Etihad?
If the airport was at fault it would suspend the landing and taking off of flights if conditions were dangerous. At the end of the day Etihad failed in its duty of care towards its passengers -this seems to have happened numerous times before according to other people online reviews.
You're not the only one to be stuck on a plane due to weather delays...this happens every winter in North America..I got delayed a day last december while going from Bahrain to Bangladesh...Its understandable to be upset and angry, but you're just out for blood...you're purposely destroying an airline's reputation, because it delayed you while trying to keep you safe. There's nothing you can do with heavy fog. Any airline operating any aircraft on this route would put you in this mess.
watch my other videos to see the pilot say that the real reason for the diversion was they didnt have enough fuel to get to Abu Dhabi originally- weather was the excuse not the real reason as most flights took off and landed at the airport that day without being diverted. I will never fly Etihad again after this ordeal and the appalling way the staff behaved...
My responses can be seen if you look at member johnavandyk only video!
I am sure this may be removed once Etihad Abu Dhabi HQ gets wind of this information so I have photographed everything as proof to upload at a later date!!

"The manufacturer that produced and installed the entertainment system on our aircraft has gone bankrupt. So we are stuck with the mess. We are however in the process of replacing the current system. BUT this is not our customer's problem and we also don't advertise that on our website... So yes, we are at fault. But what are you supposed to do. "
It's FOGG for goodness sake! We cannot make it disappear! AND it is AUH int. airport that wasn't equipped with CAT III compatibility equipment that allows aircraft to land in poor visibilty. That is not our airlines fault. What we have done is Etihad has payed for and installed these equipment for the airports company and now, thank God, we can land and take off in poor visibility, so yes! We are aware of the problems and did something about it. Now, for the inflight entertainment...
I am sorry to hear that... People are quick to stir up a storm when things go wrong. Things do go wrong from time to time sir! People neglect to commend when things go right. I am sure your flight back to London went perfect but, we won't mention that, now do we. Besides the fact that our airfares are (not just competitive) the cheapest and our sevice actually is exceptional as opposed to your airline of choice which was probably too expensive and the service probably APALLING as you call it.
We had to explain to 300 raging passengers what the hell was going on, when we ourselves barely knew... We did our best to explain that it was because of fogg! They were upset cause they would miss connecting flights, but what they didn't realise was that if we weren't going anywhere, no-one else was either. Then, we served every single drop of water, juice and softdrinks we had available. Still, that wasn't good enough!People were screaming at us! What the hell do you want us to do??? I ask you
I honestly think you are making a huge scene unnecesarrily! I feel your pain! Honestly I do! I was stuck on the runway in Al Ain on new years eve going over to new years day due to fogg in AUH for about 6 hours. (Not nearly as long as 24, but never the less...) Also we circled AUH for about 40mins. Ran out of fuel, diverted to Al Ain and had to wait 5 hours for a fuel truck. Then flew back to AUH and circled again for 40 mins. Almost diverted again. Thank God the fogg lifted and we landed safely

And be happy they did not ask you to sleep on the airport benches, as American Airlines did once for me and my family...!!!
