That must be a cold cold freezing in that bike,or isn't it? I know it from my recumbent trike, but it's fully closed and with heating over the dc-motors.....
My hands and feet get cold, but that is about it, even without having a roof or side windows. The morning the interview was done for WKYC, the temp was 14 degrees F. I drove around for about 20 minutes while they were filming and wasn't at cold.
Nice! What kind of range can you get on a single charge? I ride a Volae Expedition recumbent now. Have about 5500 miles on it. But would like a fully faired power assisted one to commute to work with.
I run my system at 72v, my best to date is 12miles using 3/4 of my 12ahr SLA batteries, temp about 50F, 300 foot change in elevation, no peddling, but I didn't keep track of the number of starts. BTW, filmed a piece on 3/3/09 with a local TV station, temp was 14F, windchill 4F, drove nearly 3 miles, still without being fully enclosed. My hands and feet were the only parts that were cold.
Thanks for the details! Much appreciated. I have a 16 mile commute with some small hills. Too far to ride unassisted for work - takes an hour plus I would need to shower and change. But I was thinking if I could have a power assist for climbing the hills (I do Ok going down :-)) I could reduce the ride time to 40 minutes or so. Food for thought. I'll have do do some more research on powered hubs and building enclosures for trikes - I think I want to switch to a trike after seeing yours.

Thanks
Ohio law does not mention the tadpole for street use.
It's heavy, well over 300 lbs all up weight including me, 30 lbs heavier than I was hoping for.
I have hit 30 mph on the flat with motor only. Cruise control is set at 20 mph which draws about 750 watts on the flat.
Admittedly, I'm not a cyclist, the gearing was taken from a generic 26" mountain bike.
This is my first prototype. I am finalizing the design for a fiberglass, foam composite delta trike.

Nice machine. Do you wish you'd gone tadpole? How about some specs for your machine? Weight, top speed, gearing, etc. Build quality looks great.
