  • Dave here. I,ve heard this melody as an instrumental, but never knew that the title was "English Country Garden." My favorite Jimmie Rodgers song is "Evergreen Tree" featured on his LP "At Home With Jimmie Rodgers." For a really unique, intriguing rendition of Jimmie's "Kisses Sweeter Than Wine" was done by Michel LeGrand. Had to listen for a few seconds before I realized what it was, but found it very appealing. See "Scarlet Ribbons, Michel LeGrand's Folk Songs For Orchestra."

  • well in australia this was the A side and was a big hit........

  • "English Country Garden" was the non-hit flip side of Jimmie's 1961 hit "A Little Dog Cried," which peaked at #71 in the U.S. that September.

  • My Dad played his LPs years ago. I always thought there was something calm and soothing about his voice.

  • A sound from my childhood. Thanks you so much for this, listening to it was like being cuddled by my Dad once again...

  • I have this 45, it is great! My mother had a 1954 capehart farnsworth, it played such beautiful tones! my mother is a great fan of Jimmie Rodgers, so we have all of his 45's!
