  • i went into this corner store i usta go into all time as a child..anyways i lost the 2 bucks i had for some candy..so i asked this nigger that was renting from my mom to spare 1 fuckin dollar..and she gives me this snotty lookin smerk but still gave me the dollar but while she was getting it outta here purse i see a legit rubberband roll of benjamins and i knew she was on welfare!!!

  • let me solve this right now!!! alright 1st of all niggers are worthless pieces of shit tht rob the government and the people of america tht actually get off the lazy fuckin asses and get jobs!!!welfare is a fuckin joke..people work so hard to make a living in this shitty economy for wat?? to pay for some niggers breakfast, lunch+dinner thts bullshit!!!the other day i went down to my old neighborhood which looks like a land fill now!!(i wonder why?)

  • Its funny how when a black person makes a comment about a white person or a white person makes a comment about a black its called racism and stirs a commotion and gets dumbasses to post stupid arguments on youtube like the ones below. SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • You people disgust me, he was treated unfairly and you people still try to turn it back on blacks saying they are the racist ones? You pathetic disgusting scums. None of you have the guts to speak out in person because you know you will be put in your place. NOBODY will forget what happened in this country many years ago and how blacks were treated, the least you cowards can do is show some respect.

  • Well, my impression of this nigger after hearing a minute of his "rap" in the white house was that the dude was a just classless dumbass nigger but after hearing he dissed that stupid sociopathic pile of shit Bush, and mentioned something about some pig getting shot by some black girl, now I like the guy.

  • @mechiefslapahobitch I pray for people like you . Honesty

  • @Raebae1120 What do you pray for, for people like me?

  • Common is a socially conscience rapper..listen to Between me you and liberation or Retrospective for Life ft Lauryn Hill he is very anti gangster I dont see the problem..America focuses way to much on race

  • HEY i want to CAPITALIZE words TOO!!!

  • i think racism has given colored people many advantages. I accused many whites of being racist and It gave me many benefits. If Im the only person of color in class, I get treated so nice, like a star. LOL!! I cried and told my professor I felt she was being racist and she upped my grade.Whites have a bad rap. Many times they have to be extra nice when blacks folks show up at a resturant if they dont they can get accused of being racist.

  • Close your eyes. Just imagine black men in hoodies patrolling your house and throwing molotov cocktails through the windows, raping and murdering your women and children, while the police refuse to do anything to stop it, because they ARE the police. Sounds like fiction? Imagine the perps were white instead. What do you get? The KKK. wiki it sometime. Once you understand that, you can begin to understand the history behind "f the police" "letter to the law" and general distrust of whites.

  • @A86: First, disregard my previous comment. Secondly, I want to apologize to you for the Republican comment. It appears I replied to the wrong person. What's up with that yabruf character? Please excuse the caps here, as I am talking to yabruf... HOW DO BLACKS CLAIM THAT EVERYTHING THAT IS SAID OR DONE BY WHITES IS RACIST, WITH COMMENTS LIKE THE ONES YOU MAKE? I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT TO YOU THAT, WHILE THERE STILL EXIST SOME WHITE RACISTS, THE MAJORITY OF RACISTS IN TODAY'S CULTURE ARE BLACK.

  • Comment removed

  • So what are you saying? Because jobs don't pay more, people do not feel like they have the responsibility to work??? Get a JOB!!! By doing THAT, we can eliminate some welfare.

Also, what makes you think black women are ANY different than anybody else? Simply by reading your post, I can almost GUARANTEE that you are a black woman.

  • FUCK SARAH PALIN!!!!!!!! FUCKIN CRYBABY!

  • you know i hear people on this comment list say stuff like oh republicans are racist, but why is it every black rapper out their was so excited to support obama not even looking into his policies, and socialistic, and associations with bill airs, past. i think thats even more stupid than criticizing common for being invited to the white house.

  • im conservative, and i do love rap. and personally i hate to see people handpick certain lyrics from rappers. commons the shit, on of the best out their lyrically, and he is a fantastic poet, why not invite him, honestly who cares if he made a crack about bush (considering he was a dunce), or other controversial lyrics, its in the past, you know its just retarded, rap isnt all bout negative shit. On the other considering obamas idiocy as well, why is it we will never heard a song dissing obama.

  • Let's put this in perspective folks - in 1972 Richard Nixon invited a famous recording artist to perform at the White House with possibly the most unsavory lyric ever written "I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die."

  • So burn a bush is worst than "Shooting a hoe"? Republicans and Fox News can suck it.

  • Millions of americans said Fu*k bush over the years, and most of them certainly would have said 'burn bush'. That was definately a 'common' sentiment. But of course it was never meant to be taken literally. It's music, which is art. When white musicians made music about lynching the 'ni**ers' a century ago, yeah that was literally carried out as part of southern white culture. Black people shooting cops is maybe 1 in 5 years nationwide. Cops shooting blacks is prob. 1 per week.

  • @ShellB12 a small group of white people made music about that a CENTURY AGO black people are making music like that now and the south did it but so did the league of white decency (northern KKK).

black people is more like 1 every other week and black people get shot because they commit a crime and proceed to try and use lethal force

  • @SeveringAnthony Blacks have reason to be upset with whites. Whites have no reason to be upset with blacks. They brought us here, stripped us of dignity/rights as human beings and are shocked when we said f the police. You know why young blacks don't like police officers? Because after the civil rights movement, the government said, ok black people, you have rights now, but white cops didnt get the memo. Perhaps they were guilty, or they LOOKED guilty. Which is enough to convict apparently.

  • @ShellB12 Bullshit. Whites have MORE reason to be upset with the BLACKS, today!

Forget the DEAD whites who brought DEAD blacks here. That time is DEAD.

You are so full of it about the cops. Cops have to be very careful how they treat blacks, these days, because of all the noise about it.

The last thing we need is some idiot rapper grunting near-illiterate "poetry", when this same rapper has been clearly anti-white, anti-USA and anti-government.

It's not about politics for most.

  • @RonQE Do tell, why do whites have more reason to be upset at blacks? That time is in fact dead, it should be put behind us but never forgotten, it should be taught in ALL american schools, being a part of american history and all. People that 'today' have been pulled over for "fitting the description" etc. And yes, his poem was very political! Most cops are good people, but they are human, flawed, biased and pulled from the same society as you and I. Those biases rear their ugly head at times.

  • @ShellB12 Because for the whites alive, TODAY, we've bent over backwards to give blacks opportunity and have made real progress in changing the abominable attitudes of the past towards blacks.

But today, there are a lot of negative attitudes towards whites, mostly from blacks, always citing the PAST and justifying anger at them for things they never did.

Also PC has crippled whites and, frankly, the resistance to improve, by the black community, has become a burden on society in general.

  • @ShellB12 p.2

You're right that police are human and sometimes make mistakes, but there is no longer any systemic oppression on BLACKS. If anything, the police have to be very careful when dealing with blacks, lest the PC crowd and Sharpton go ape.

The mistakes police make affect ALL people, not just blacks. But blacks too often make it about RACISM. And even when they're pulled over for legit reasons, it's always called RACISM.

In fact, the FALSE accusations of racism are the main reason

  • @ShellB12 p.3

that whites have for having more reason to be upset with blacks than blacks have to be upset with whites.

If a white person even says something which SOUNDS like it's against a black person, society comes down HARD on that person!

Yet there are all these accusations of racism which cause problems for whites and allow blacks to persist in their current "victim" status.

I am all FOR blacks really improving and truly becoming equal and would support any who really TRIED.

  • @RonQE as far as bending over backwards, consider that paying the debt that your forefathers passed down to you. We are becoming even. The past is over, but it still counts because where you and I start today, depends on the head start given to us by our parents, and theirs before them. You are innocent, but you still have a headstart in society because of the color of your skin. As far as common's 'illiteracy', if blacks were denied education for 400 years, what do you really expect?

  • @RonQE pt2.

As far as white people getting blasted as racists unncecessarily, well, the people that do that are human as well, and they will accuse racism all willy nilly with no logical argument for it. Morons exist in all colors, and I don't like it any more than you do. I agree with most of the comments you just made, many blacks play victim and we should hold ourselves to higher standards. That being said, most blacks aren't whiny lazy angry, accusatory people, just like anybody else.

  • @ShellB12 Your comment is actually extremely racist.

The debt of MY forefathers, you said? What, because I'm white, I supposedly have a "debt" just because the people who enslaved blacks had a similar skin color? How does THAT make sense?

And how do you know I started off any better than you? If you're black, you have a BETTER chance to get into school, or get jobs, all because of quotas and various ramifications of political correctness.

    Blacks aren't denied education TODAY!

  • @ShellB12 pt.2

I am all for supporting black people, who start in bad situations, who really want to TRY to better themselves. But I feel the same with anyone from a disadvantaged background, of any color.

What gets sickening, though, is all the talk about the PAST and things that have long since changed. Worse yet, is using the past as an excuse for present-day complacency and a failure to improve. I have NO sympathy for those who will not even TRY, and just bitch about centuries ago.

  • @ShellB12 pt.3

The bottom line, however, is all about why I don't like seeing Common heralded as a "poet" and invited to events like this.

You talk about the disadvantage of many blacks. Well, here it is. Looking up to RAPPERS and people who can't speak, and who often don't think, and often are anti-white racists and criminals, instead of looking up to people who have TALENT and are GREAT people.

Elevating poorly-spoken rappers only hurts blacks and holds many of them back.

  • @itsmecassiej I presume you were just TRYING to be funny! Otherwise that was one of the most hypocritical statements I've read in a LONG time!

  • @RonQE Have you actually listened to Common before? And don't give me "all rap music sucks" bullshit.

  • @idiotunderthetable Clearly, you didn't read any of the posts I made after that.

I have heard enough of Common to know I don't appreciate him, either as a supposed "poet", as an artist, and certainly not as a "musician".

  • @RonQE Yet suburbia is swallow the bitter like candy...So it really doesn't matter what you or I think!! Does it?

  • @RonQE Do you know any of Commons lyrics? or are you just spouting what this rhetorical BS feeder has just said? The trouble is both parties have issues with past, present and future. Rap is the last voice of black people - KRS One. So it will be harder for "some" white folk to overstand the terminology used in such accomplished poetry. This is more apparent (by sales figures) that show more white suburban people buy Rap music than black urban people.

    Are they also Anti-white/government/USA?

  • @DJCW I didn't make any of the assertions you see me making here, until I looked up more of Common's lyrics. I was unimpressed with his rap at the White House, but I did seek to learn more of what he tends to rap about, before forming too many opinions about him.

What you write is sad, though. "Rap is the voice of black people"? REALLY? Is that really the voice blacks want to have? It's part of what's holding blacks back!

  • @RonQE Don't mince my words!! Rap is the LAST voice of black people. Public Enemy is a voice of black people. KRS - ONE, GangStarr, Talib Kweli, Commonsense, Pharaoh Monch, Black Thought, Tupac, Furious Five, MC Shan, LL Cool J, Roxanne Shante, LIl Kim, B.I.G, Big L the list goes on and on.. are all voices of black people. It ain't about the glitter and gold, it's about real struggle...

Real Hip Hop is Real History...from the eyes of the beholder!!

  • @RonQE Your assertions are short sighted and are rather naive.. Commonsense has been writing rap/poetry before you even understood what a modem was.

  • @DJCW Voice of, or "last" voice of, it's still the same issue; why would a majority of black people elect RAP to be their "voice"?

Seems to me leaving violence, illiteracy and crime back in the ghetto and the past would be the best idea, instead of promoting the worst aspects of every black stereotype?

As for your insults, they fall short.

  • @RonQE Insults? What I wrote is truth.

You think you can generalise Rap because you (may have) read one black poets thoughts which just happened to make the news. You simply have no credibility on the subject of being Black or Hip Hop, so your opinions are worthless.

Speaking of aspects, I could generalise about white democracy/history, whitewashes, wars, racist narcissism which has left obliterated infrastructures, devastates entire countries and millions DEAD!!!

  • @DJCW Just calling something the "truth" neither makes is less an insult, OR the truth.

I was referring to the comment where you called my assertions "short sighted" and "rather naive". At best, that's your OPINION. Truth? I don't think so.

Same as your attempt to dismiss my comments about being black or hip hop. One needn't be an expert on hip hop to know certain things about it, and what is normally played.

Funny, that you capitalize "black" and not "white". That says a lot.

  • @RonQE Trollolololol, you don't know anything about being black or Hip Hop, so your rhetoric and opinions are like assholes. You've got one but it's full of shit.

If you really want to know why Hip Hop? try watching Hip Hop documentaries, also reading books written by artists, listening to the poets I mentioned before.

Also the truth I was speaking of refers to Commonsense writing poetry before the internet/modem. So yes it's true.. As I said "don't mince my words"

  • @DJCW More of your pointless insults? They fall flat.

As for what non-mainstream hip-hop is, why does it matter? What matters is what is mostly played, and what is out there in the media, or blasted by ghetto-types on the streets. That is the "voice" that many black people are giving to themselves, by rap, not the obscure, perhaps more artistic flavors.

You wrote "before YOU [meaning me] understood what a modem was". Oh? I used modems, albeit slow, in the 70s.

  • @DJCW (cot'd)

As for your generalizations, those situations are far more complex than simple race, in some cases have little to do with "race", and in others are distant past that no one even disagrees with.

The difference is that few white people want to call the KKK and Nazis as an identification with "being white". So why do so many blacks want to claim the worst aspects of their culture as a matter of "black voice/identity"?

  • The reason fox news jumped on common like this, is because they like to say 'hey look another angry black man'. I can understand the frustration black people feel towards the corrupt government. Look up COINTELPRO. They don't want to keep drugs out of black communities! They want it to flood in so they can lock us up! We didn't ship it here! If you think common's music supports cop killing and disrespecting women, I guarantee you don't listen to his music.

  • I will continue to respond and offer a rebuttal to your flawed way of thinking later. I have to go to work because I don't collect a government check like so many others on the taxpayers teet. later..

  • @yabruf - I don't have to work because I have a job that pays enough that I can take weekends off. Unlike you I didn't have to be a government employee (GI) to get it either while you hypocritically libel fellow people like yourself benefiting from government programs.

  • we do love you common americans hate and love freedom of speach

  • TED NUGENT! You Gotta consider it a compliment when FOX comes after you.

I would'nt waist my time on these BULL-SHIT boards trying to defend anyone

against the GARBAGE being SPEWED at FOX. Hey "FOLKS" go check out

This "FREAK" TED NUGENT. That SAY"s IT ALL! They LUV HIM at FOX!

  • What else would expect from these bums in the White house. They dont care about the people of this country. I mean come on Obama's wife is straight ghetto out of the hood. They are both extreme racist and and eat this publicity up. Thats how ghetto blacks act.

  • @yabruf - Michelle Obama is a college graduated and a career mother who became a millionaire. How exactly is that "straight ghetto out of the hood"?

Who exactly are the Obamas racist against?

  • @A86

Ghetto is not only a description used for location but also mentality. Michelle Obama has the typical racist black ghetto mentality. Take from the rich and give to the poor. The ghetto part of that is giving to the poor and keeping them poor. They are "poverty pushers" that do nothing but buy ignorant democrats votes. Obama is an extremely racist individual who spent 20 yrs in a BLT church. This is no secret. Besides his own books speak volumes of how racist he is.

  • @yabruf - "the typical racist black ghetto mentality"

    Which is what exactly?

How exactly is she taking from the rich and giving to the poor given her husband is continuing Bush's fucken tax cuts and other policies which take from the poor and middle class and give to the rich? What racist things has Michelle Obama done or said? Who exactly is Obama racist against? What racist comments has he made? Trinity Church is part of the United Church of Christ.

  • @yabruf - Rev. Wright is not a Black Liberationist though he does have some influences from the ideology. Black Liberation Theology is not a racist ideology, though it is somewhat outdated today in the post-Civil Rights Era.

Oh, and who exactly are "poverty pushers"? Black people have a mind of their own just like everyone else and vote the way they do for their own demographical reasons. Black people rarely vote GOP because the party took in the Dixiecrats after 1964....

  • @yabruf - (con't)...and every Republican Presidential candidate after 1960 has played the Southern Strategy. The party hasn't really done anything mentionable for the black community since co-signing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 along with the Northern Democrats other than kicking poor blacks off welfare without jobs creation programs to bring good-paying industrial and agricultural jobs for low-income urban and rural minorities to flock to.

What's the incentive for black people to vote GOP?

  • @A86

Wow there are so many errors in your last posts that I am not going to correct them all. As for his clearly racist statements and racist church which has been run in the media ad nauseam. If you dont know it by now I am not going to spell out the facts for you. You can do your own research. Rev Wright said himself that BLT was his foundational philosophy that will only accept a god that will help destroy his white enemy. This info is not hard to find, you just need the motivation.

  • @yabruf - I've known about Rev. Wright since 2006. What racist statements or sentiments has he made? What are the racist tenants of BLT? Or his church? You know, the one part of the lily-white United Church of Christ denomination? (it's a fact that it's a very overwhelmingly white denomination)

Please, point out my supposed "errors". I've got a little time.

  • @A86

First of all no Christian takes the Lords name in vain:"God damn America." 2003 sermon-Trinity church

    "US of KKKA"-Trinity church

"Causing some white people and uncle toms some problems" -Trinity church

"Country controlled and run by rich white people"-Trinity church

"Country is a arrogant racist military superpower"--Trinity church

This man is no better then a black thug gangster on the street. He spews only hate and bitterness in Gods house where Christ's love should only be present.

  • @yabruf - "God damn" is not taking the Lord's name in vain. He said "God damn" is in "God condemn", not as in the exclamation "goddamn!" Rev. Wright asked God to condemn America for slavery and genocide of the Natives (are you proud of those things in our history)? You'll find another character in the Bible, ironically named "Jeremiah", who says something similar. He asks God to condemn the land of Israel for her collective sins and abandoning God. That's why he said "That's in the Bible".

  • @A86

Thats bull and you know it. I have been around long enough to know the rhetoric that comes from racist black churches and this is nothing new. Dont give me this legalese crap excusing him of his behavior. He is supposedly a man of God in the Lords house but he speaks like a heathen! Condemn America for the Indians?! Really? Dude I am not interested in condemning my generation for the sins of over 100 years ago! Let me guess you think we should pay back the descendants of slaves to right?

  • @yabruf - And what racist black churches have you gone to and what racist stuff are they saying? You tried to give me some examples from Trinity Church but they all failed miserably as most were just politically incorrect factual observations. He spoke like a "heathen" by quoting Jeremiah? Was Jeremiah a heathen for asking God to condemn Israel? I notice you tried to conveniently avoid that subject.

  • @yabruf - You said YOU are not interested in something that happened long ago. That does not mean that God is not. Now you're living up to the stereotype that Christians impose their thoughts and values onto God.

Why wouldn't God condemn America for the near-genocide of the Natives? God condemned nations in the Bible for less than that.

BTW, Natives are still being shafted by the government. It's not over. Not to mention all of us still benefit from stuff that happened 100 years ago.

  • @yabruf - "US of KKKA" is not racist. Unless you deny that the US has a racist history and that the US government has done a lot of racist shit. The third quote is taken out of context but he still says "some white people". He didn't say all whites are racist.

How is calling a country arrogant and racist racist? America is a race now? This is actually just showing maybe you perceive America as inherently "white". He said "America" is a racist country, which includes minorities being racist.

  • @A86 USof KKKA is a racist statement covering all of America. He is living in the past that he doesn't want anyone to forget. So much so that he is forcing a behavior on a generation that has nothing to do with his past experiences. He is a perfect example of a black stuck on the plantation. You realize that blacks in America are the richest most successful most respected in the entire world at this time. But no all this hateful man wants to do is focus on the dead past and create division.

  • @yabruf - "USof KKKA is a racist statement"

The Klan is a race now? There are people born with bedsheet skin and pointy heads? Lol He isn't living in the past, there is still a lot of racism now (I experienced some just yesterday from Mr. micsc50 ranting about "niggras") and still racist people in government. Like Haley Barbour. Also, given how old Rev. Wright is the events of the 60s are not ancient history to him. Unlike you he LIVED them. It's nothing to you because you didn't experience it.

  • @A86

"The party hasn't really done anything mentionable for the black..." You act like blacks are a bunch of helpless little children that cant tie their shoes without the government or "whitey" doing for them! "kicking poor blacks off welfare without jobs" Again you continue to feed the poor black community that is 100% dependent on big gov to solve all of their problems. This is all democrats do. Prey on black ignorance to get the votes. Its shameful!

  • @yabruf - How does the government = whitey? The government is becoming increasingly racially diverse. But anyway, of course black people can do things for themselves but how the hell are poor people going to live completely without assistance if wages don't go up? Republicans are against raising the minimum wage and they're against ending tax cuts for the rich and against stopping subsidies to companies for shipping jobs overseas. So what's the solution other than welfare? Let 'em die in street?

  • @A86

Whitey is your argument I was paraphrasing. No blacks cannot because they fall for the promises democrats give them for buying their vote. I have lived without assistance my whole life and I dont sit around on welfare waiting for wages to go up! Its because of the assistance they are not trying. Have you ever been to or seen a real ghetto?!? or just on TV. Well I am from the ghetto I know first hand how the system is broken. It is a pathetic environment that helps no black man!

  • @yabruf - And as for your fourth quote that's just a factual statement anyone who is honest admits. The US is still by and large controlled by rich people. DUH. Even more so historically before the past 35 years.

Given that black Americans have come a long way since 1964 this would seem to confirm their voting habits largely. In 1964 only 5% of blacks were middle class. As of 2007 it was 23-25% of blacks. As of 2009 there are now over 1.2 million black-owned businesses in the US.

  • @A86

And so what! He is characterizing rich white people as evil within his hateful rants. Here is a news flash for you: Whites are still the majority in this country so it makes sense that they hold the majority wealth. DUH. A little common sense in place of all this race baiting. He is nothing but a race baiter whose purpose is to stir up hatred, division, and distrust among blacks further hindering them from excelling in this white dominated country.

  • @yabruf - Being the richest nation has nothing to do with morality. If you're supposed a Christian you'd realize this too and in fact God has brought rich, proud nations to their knees according to the Bible. Your bragging about America doesn't please God's ears as according to the Bible God hates men with proud hearts and hates nations that elevate themselves above others.

But, like most Christians you probably just like the stuff in the Bible that you think allows you to bash gays.

  • @yabruf - "He is characterizing rich white people as evil"

How? He just said the country is run by rich white people. That's just a fact. If you don't like that fact, either move to another country or do something to help fix it. It's also not race-baiting because the country is controlled by rich white people DISPROPORTIONATELY so. Over 90% of Wall Street and over 80% of the government is white despite the fact that non-Hispanic whites only make up 65% of the population.

  • @yabruf - "I have lived without assistance my whole life"

You mean welfare assistance. You do use SOME assistance. For instance - if you've ever taken a public loan or grant, an FHA loan, used the GI Bill, used a job training program paid with public funds, use public utilities, public roads, the ER system, etc. And of course the classic Medicare and Social Security almost everyone ends up using. Twice as many minorities live below the poverty level, hence why per capita...

  • @A86

Me not working, sitting on my ass, dealing drugs, impregnating multiple women and bragging about it all the while collecting welfare in no way compares to the utilization by hard working Americans of loans and grants. And the GI Bill are you flipping crazy!?!? I fought for my country and earned the GI bill with the intention of giving my life for it. Don't you dare compare that to junkies and lowlifes on welfare you pompous ass. I am starting to doubt your sanity after that last comment.

  • @yabruf - And again this is why most blacks don't vote Republican - the party is full of people like you who view the average black American as unemployed drug dealers on welfare. Even though this is far, far from reality. Not to mention your beloved leader who enshrined this mythology - Ronald Reagan and the "welfare queen" mythology. Most black people aren't on welfare or dealing drugs. 90% of the ones on welfare are employed and 84% of black people are employed. How is that sitting around?

  • @yabruf - Hm, so black Americans are not hard working? Only white Americans work hard? You claim Rev. Wright is racist but you make your own racism and resentment against blacks crystal clear with crap like that.

Most people on welfare are neither lowlives nor junkies you ignorant dumbass. Unless you want to include the 40% of people on welfare who are white. Largely low-income white people who vote Republican. Are they all crystal meth junkies?

  • @yabruf - People fought and died in this country long before the GI Bill was made. Nowhere in the Constitution does it say you can only use a social program if you go into the military. Whether you view it as earned or not the GI Bill IS still a social program that allowed you to move up. Don't talk about "hard work" when you admitted you used a welfare program, since you characterize being on welfare as being lazy.

I'm moving up in the world and I didn't even have to use the GI Bill.

  • @yabruf Move your dumb ass out of the ghetto, and get a real life. Whites and blacks alike should learn how to help themselves. Why bitch about life in "the ghetto" if your biggest goal in life is to remain living in "the ghetto"?

  • @shank187dta Good question. Or why so many blacks who move out of the ghetto want to take the ghetto with them.

People whine about blacks getting arrested by police but the fact is that the blacks most often bring the crime of the ghetto with them when they move out. Even if it's not the ones who move out, the ones who move out often have FRIENDS who see all the white neighbors as "targets".

  • @A86

"Die in the streets" you say? Well if they die with their dignity, if they die supporting their families, if they die married to the women who birthed their children, if they die fighting for everything their forefathers died to give them then Yes! Hell yes! The condition of the black community is rife with drugs, alcohol addiction, fatherless homes, abortion rates highest of all races, crime. And your solution is WELFARE! I am sick of you enablers and your coddling of blacks.

  • @yabruf - (con't)...to be on welfare.

"if they die with their dignity"

That's completely stupid. Starving instead of using a welfare program to get back on your feet is completely stupid. I agree that fathers should be around but destroying welfare programs won't make them come back. This is the problem - your party has no solutions for black people. So why should they vote Republican? You just admitted you feel they should die instead of use a welfare program. So should suicidal blacks join?

  • @A86

Ha my party! Obama destroyed all the accomplishments Clinton made by reducing the poor's dependency on welfare programs. And there you go again "problem - your party has no solutions for black people". Im beginning to think you hate blacks. Every other statement is you complaining about someone else doing something for them because what their to damn helpless? Or too incompetent to help themselves?

  • @yabruf - Clinton increased the poor's dependency on welfare given that poverty increased after he cut it. Now thanks to that we have a generation with a lower median income than the last and a growing gang problem with youth with few opportunities turning to crime for a living. You claim Obama destroyed Clinton's "accomplishments". When was that? When has Obama increased the size of welfare programs? Other than corporate welfare.

Speaking of, I notice you're desperate to avoid that topic.

  • @yabruf - Tell you what - I'll agree that we should reduce welfare programs when you agree to cut military spending by 80%, end corporate welfare, end tax credits for shipping jobs overseas, close corporate tax loopholes, end Big Oil and Big Coal subsidies, repeal the Patriot Act and support a living wage. How's that?

    "you hate blacks"

If I hated my fellow black people I'd support your plan to see them die in the streets.

  • @yabruf - "because what their to damn helpless?"

I tire of you hiding behind empty catchphrases, buzzwords and sloganeering. Time for you to do something you OBVIOUSLY don't do enough of: some critical thinking. Explain your position rationally using economic data to back it up. How exactly are poor people to "help themselves" without welfare if you're unwilling to raise the minimum wage or get rid of policies that encourage shipping jobs overseas?

  • @A86 yes but when some one doesn't even try to get back on their feet it becomes a problem

  • @SeveringAnthony - I agree. I've met some people like that before and that kind of phenomenon is part of why I think welfare needs to be reformed. People shouldn't continue getting welfare checks IMO if they have a kid after they've started welfare. It leads me to believe they're just gaming the system. People who do that often do it so they can secure being on welfare longer now that they have another upcoming kid that needs support.

  • @yabruf - And where did I ever say the condition of ghettos is productive? I specifically said it's bereft of opportunities earlier.

    "is rife with drugs"

The drug trade, not so much drug usage. The black rate of drug usage per capita is statistically identical to the white rate. Alcoholism is a big Native American problem, not so much for black Americans. The crime rate is a big problem that needs several solutions.

Getting rid of welfare will do jack shit to lower the crime rate.

  • @A86

You say it is productive by supporting democratic policies which do nothing but give handouts to keep blacks in the ghetto. You are out of touch with reality my friend. All your numbers and percentages don't mean squat. I live in the real world where drugs in the black community are rampant in every ghetto along with alcohol. Lets see some more common sense: Less welfare= more working blacks= less blacks doing nothing and screwing up.

  • @yabruf - Using policies that you pay for with your tax dollars is not a free handout. My numbers and percentages mean that you are wrong. You claim the rich pay most of the taxes when in fact they pay less than 40%. That means I am right and you are wrong. It's as simple as that. Time to start facing reality.

Now speaking of the real world calculate with real numbers how people who live below the poverty line can support themselves without welfare and without an increased minimum wage.

  • @yabruf - "more working blacks"

84% of black people ARE working. It was formerly 90% before the recession hit. But enlighten us - What jobs are these unemployed black people supposed to go to? Hm?

  • @yabruf - "And your solution is WELFARE!"

I would be more impressed with your bemoaning of welfare if you were also against Medicare, Social Security, the BLOATED BUDGET THAT IS MILITARY SPENDING, corporate welfare, bailouts, most business subsidies, Agribusiness subsidies, tax credits for companies that ship jobs overseas, etc. All welfare programs that eat up a shitload more money than TANF and AFDC ever have. What do all except the first 2 do to help black people?

  • @yabruf - "sick of you enablers"

And what about the 40% of people on welfare who are low-income white people? Or the white elders on Social Security and Medicare? THIS is another reason why the GOP doesn't pull many black votes and why they're losing the Hispanic vote - you continue to paint welfare as a "black problem" and imply that the white people on welfare aren't a problem. You also want to cut the $60 billion spent on welfare but support the $1 Trillion spent on wars.

  • @yabruf - And let's be real - you are simply sour because most black people aren't voting for your party (the Republicans). If 85%+ of black people were still voting Republican like they did prior to JFK you wouldn't say a word about alleged groupthink.

People like yourself being the base of the Republican Party are why most black conservatives vote for conservative Democrats or Independents instead of Republican. You're your own worst enemy when it comes to wanting black votes.

  • @A86

Be real? Ok first of all I am not a Republican so there goes your whole "groupthink" theory. Second blacks only vote for the Dems cause of the free handout they give. These handouts (welfare, encouraging fatherless homes thus destroying black families, abortion), have destroyed and are continuing to hinder black people. Democrats know that if they group poor blacks together that they guarantee: votes, teen pregnancy, bad schools and more democratic voters. This increases their dependency!

  • @yabruf - Problem is that DOES seem to the GOP solution. Just let the poor and the unemployed become homeless so Johnny Morebucks can buy a third yacht. Only a fool would go along with that if they aren't wealthy. Even low-income whites who vote Republican do so because they expect the Republicans to leave their Medicare and Social Security alone. Look at the reaction to Paul Ryan.

That reminds me - around 60-75% of white males vote Republican. I don't hear you saying they're on a plantation.

  • @A86

Nobody is talking about letting the poor and unemployed become homeless but people like you and the democrat fear-mongers. Whites low and high income vote republican because repubs are actually hearing the will of the people. Government caused the mess we are in we sure the hell dont want more government screwing up the rest of our lives. Only blacks have the plantation mentality that was carried down through the generations strictly because of slavery.

  • @yabruf - "people like you and the democrat fear-mongers"

I'm not a Democrat. I talked about becoming homeless because that is the reality of what happens when you get rid of welfare without any jobs creation. That's why the black homeless and poor population spiked under Reagan and Clinton when they hatcheted welfare with no jobs creation to supplement the people who's income is now too low to live independently.

  • @yabruf - Corporate America caused the mess we're in now and the government caused it by helping corporate America do it. Sounds like you have the plantation mentality since you're chained to a party that does nothing for people in your income bracket. What kind of dope goes along with a party that hurts him?

  • @yabruf - "cause of the free handout they give"

Given that welfare programs are paid for by taxes how is it a free handout? People on welfare still have to pay taxes like everyone else. In most states you have to be employed to get welfare. And above all else - MOST BLACK PEOPLE AREN'T EVEN ON FRIGGIN' WELFARE. 23% of African-Americans are middle class, 3% are wealthy and most of the rest are low-income but employed and above welfare level. Your welfare theory doesn't make sense.

  • @A86

Free hand out=payday by uncle sam but I dont go to work=welfare. And no you do not pay taxes on welfare are you on crack? 47% of American people pay ZERO income tax, and that would be the lower incoming levels. Not the rich who pay the majority that you want to demonize so badly. See it is already unfair because we use a progressive tax scale here.

  • @yabruf - Your rantings are detached from reality. The vast majority of people on welfare are employed and the majority of African-Americans are not on welfare. The people who are still have to pay taxes and they still live a sub-par life. So what exactly is the payoff?

Newsflash to Mr. "I'm Not a Republican" - THE FEDERAL INCOME TAX IS NOT THE ONLY TAX IN EXISTENCE. The bottom 50% still have to pay state income taxes, the federal payroll tax, property taxes, sales taxes, etc.

  • @yabruf - And no, the rich are not paying the majority of the taxes. The bottom 90-95% pays 60%+ of all taxes in the country despite owning only around 20% of the nation's wealth. The top 10% pay less than 40%+ of all taxes combined despite owning 80% of the nation's wealth. Sounds like the bottom is getting shafted and the top is getting a free ride. Which is exactly what's going on.

Try reading some facts once in a while outside of the Fox News and right-wing website echo chamber.

  • @yabruf A progressive tax scale is unfair? So what do you suggest? Make those who make little money give everything to Uncle Sam, while those with millions keep fattening their pockets? Also, ANYONE with reported income pays income tax. Jackass, why would someone in a low-income bracket not be required to pay taxes? I agree with A86... you are an idiot.

  • @yabruf - Your theory about welfare destroying the black community doesn't make much sense either. Women are choosing to raise kids alone so they can live in poverty for most of their life? I suppose it has nothing to do with teen pregnancy or derelict fathers?

    "bad schools"

Most schools for low-income minorities are sub-par whether the district is under Democrat or Republican control. So Republicans aren't doing anything for black people either. So.....what's the incentive to vote Republican?

  • @A86

What!?! Women are being abandoned by the fathers. Either due to drug addiction, shooting, or just immorality. Teen pregnancy follows the absent father which continues the trend of immoral behavior. And you got me wrong there is no I repeat no incentive to vote republican. I am simply arguing about the myth democrats are actually helping the black community when they are doing the opposite. Just because I am against the democrats doesn't mean I am for the repubs either.

  • @yabruf - Immoral behavior like what? I agree that teen pregnancy contributes to the problem (and on a sick note a lot of the fathers of babies to teen mothers are actually adults). Cutting these women off welfare won't serve to do anything

You say there is no incentive to vote Republican but earlier you said the Republicans are "responding to the will of the people". Obviously you think quite highly of the party.

  • Democrats want so bad to occupy the White House, but when they get it, they show such contempt for it. Bill Clinton stained the presidential seal rug and turned the White House into a motel 6. Now Obama gets ghetto, turning the White House into a White Castle.

  • @mexseiko Don't forget Bush Sr - signed Osama Bin Ladins checks in that white house. Nixion was a true criminal with Watergate. President Ford gave Nixion a presidential pardon for the crime and was in charge of the worst economy until Bush jr decided to play with your money and get us into 2 wars. The worst economy and crimes against the American Tax payer.... have come from the Republicans according to the history books.

  • @davejsmith I was addressing the denigrating of the White House. You're disingenuously mixing politics, economy, and crime. Only that the worst economy and presidency was Carter's. As far as crimes Clinton got away with a lot besides the immorality. Today's economy debacle comes from Barney Frank and Jack Kemp forcing banks into those sub-prime mortgages which triggered all that Wall Street corruption and snowballed into the whole banking fiasco.

  • @mexseiko lol... your not comparing republicans to democrats? Crimes Clinton? not Nixion? What history book did you read "republican world history"?

  • @davejsmith Democrats shift blame and take credit. They opposed civil rights and take credit for it. Fought for slavery and forced segregation and then threw money at the ghettos maintaining their poverty while keeping them away from the best schools and accuse Reps of racism. No Prez had more AA in his cabinet than GWB. Not even the "1st black President" Clinton which is the biggest BS perpetrated ever. Clintons showed how racists they are while capaigning against Obama, a racist himself.

  • @mexseiko Where are you getting your information from? The bush administration passed "the patriot act" less freedom for all. The tax cuts for the richest 2% is a republican tax plan. The worst economies in the last 50 years come from republican administrations according to history books. Some republicans are racist and in the past month there are 3 examples.

  • @davejsmith Patriot Act is still in full force and the tax cuts were extended by the Obama administration because rhetoric aside, they didn't want to screw the already fragile economy. So, there you go. Both the Patriot Act and the Tax Cuts were necessary then, and are necessary now.

Ubber white Eisenhower ordered a military escort for the 9 black students in the Arkansas High School to force Integration. He pushed 1957 Civil Rights Act. and Truman's 9981 EO for Black soldiers.

  • @davejsmith Today's financial debacle was caused by Barney Frank and his financial committee who forced banks into the sub-prime mortgages creating a wall street addiction to them until they began to crash and are still crashing. I just saw $438k a house today go on the market for $275k after foreclosure. This affects the value of the value of the homes in the neighborhood which is equity. It also caused harshly strict lending controls bringing development and growth in to screaching holt.

  • @mexseiko I partly agree... 3 greedy banks, congress ignored warnings by Ron Paul. Our Federal Reserve (Ben B) decided to ignore congress concerns...and so on.

  • @davejsmith Ron Paul and the Bush admin kept telling Congress to regulate the mortgage situation, but Franks' committee wanted to continue pushing sub-prime. The frigging Socialists in Congress are killing the economy. Obama keeps it up. Look up DSA.

  • @mexseiko Dude, why complain about low costs in homes? But one! Now's the time. I have to ask... "after foreclosure"? That tells me that someone bought the house even though they couldn't afford to continue paying for it, and THAT is THEIR own mistake!

Also, @micsc50: Four welfare checks probably go to your mailbox alone. Stop labeling people, and stand up. Help to do something about the rise in welfare claims, instead of overlooking the problem and raising another issue.

  • @davejsmith Although I agree with most of what you said, I think you should wake up! Some Republicans are racist? So are some Democrats, and even Independents! Surprised? In fact, some blacks are racist, too. Besides, this debate addressed the poetry delivered by Common... Get back with the program here, people! This discussion is not even about welfare, the Patriot Act, Clinton, Nixon, Carter, or anything else, except for Common's poetry. I suppose someone will start talking about pizza now!

  • @shank187dta no I purely stick to the subject.

  • @orkid682 eazy e (fuck the police ) ice-T (original gangsta / cop killa )

  • This sounds like a 15 year old talking about this.

  • Lynn was born on Chicago's South Side. He is the son of educator Dr. Mahila Ann Hines and former ABA basketball player turned youth counselor Lonnie Lynn. and now due to the way things are used today to get rich for some this is what he does really!

  • Didn't Nixon invite Elvis to the White house even though Elvis was falling into drugs??

  • "A Song for Assata" is a really pretty song.

  • hmm didn't Bush honored Johnny Cash?

  • @micsc50 what a dumb think to say, Frist and formost Bush isn't nor ever has been a supporter of the klan. Also even if Bush invited the head of the klan "US people" and pretty much all Americans would be outrage. This who BS is silly and another conservative outrage waste of time.

  • Hannity can't stand this rapper's poetic lyrics. BUT he LOVES Ted Nudgent's unpoetic rant about shooting the president.

  • Jon Stewart totally showed Hannity and Fox for the hypocrites they are last night!

  • I don't see Republicans making a stink about George H.W. Bush allowing West Coast Gangsta Rapper Eazy-E to the White House in 1991. Eazy said A LOT of stuff WAY more violent or controversial than anything Common has said.

Calling Common a "gangster rapper" or "violent" is like saying Johnny Cash is Death Metal. Lol

  • Change-- the negroization of America i.e.taking inane childish gibberish of feral congoid simian and calling it mainstream.

  • common a gangsta rapper, hahahahahah that is the funniest shit i've heard all year, saying common is a gangsta rapper is like saying waka flocka is a lyricist it just doesn't make sense

  • wow! fox new are idiots! they take everything out of context! what about the horrible things sean hannity and glenn beck say on a regular who are they to judge anyone! if you do youre research on sean hannity you will find that they he is linked linked to white supremicist who the hell is sean hannity to judge anyone this is sickening and disgusting! common is one of the most positive rappers their are now if common were a rockstar we wouldn't be here talking!!!

  • Common is a gangsta as Carlton Banks from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air...

  • haha the media make me laugh, featured news is always entertainment. keep in mind that only 6 people control the main media.

  • What about In March 1991 West Coast Gangster Rapper Eazy-E accepted an invitation to a lunch benefiting the Republican Senatorial Inner Circle, hosted by then-President George H. W. Bush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • EAZY E WAS LET INSIDE IN THE WHITE HOUSE.. BUT OUTTA ALL THE NIGGAS, COMMON AINT???

  • We all know where Common stands, fuck these rednecks, You fucking white folks always blow shit outta context

  • Most people in the country would definitely not support some rapper in the white house as of I. Well, not a smart move by Obama. Well whatever, if it hurts him in the polls, then that's his own fault.

  • @jpzxcvbnm

"most people" also thought we weren't ready (whatever -ready- means) to have a black president. so much for "most people."

is there anything else that "most people" would like to say about a rapper in the white house?

  • @jpzxcvbnm its not going to hurt him , but it did expose fox news for brainwashing fuck ups , and narrow minds such as yourself . stick to what you know and read the comments on here , people are laughing at the fact that people like you are considering common a gangster and what not . i see your one of those people that can be told anything and you fall for it . its funny how people nit pick at him for the smallest things , but theres no racism involved , right?

  • lol Common's such a positive and upbeat artist look how hard they have to dig just to apply the unsavory "rap artist" stigma to him. FOX is so pathetic

  • Common is one of the most positive rappers out there. He's very intelligent and a fantastic poet. Fox is disgusting

  • I don't even know why I'm here. Fuckin' Fox News and stupid ass Sarah Palin just tryna piss me off by bashing a positive rapper.

  • @orkid682 - awe, bless your heart!!

  • More fake rage from the right. Hey remember way back when Republican Jesus invited Easy E to the white house. Opps I forget you guys are ok when the gipper does things like invite gay couples for sleepovers and know druggies.

  • more crap from the oh so pristine "christian"republican right. like they're the moral compass of this country.

bush could cause the death of hundreds of thousands, southern "christians" STILL ALIVE today could murder many blacks, but a black rapper isn't, in their fucked up opinion, allowed in the white house! where's their "christian" forgiveness?

who the fuck gives a shit....WHO THE FUCK CARES...only the, oh so holier than thou lying, hypocritical, bigots on the right. they make me sick!

  • Don't let this sambo near the white house. They're are enough sambo's there already.

  • @Leatherbubba tell me bigot, do you consider yourself a Christian, or are you really just another "christian" bigot from the buy bull belt!

  • @wntoply6 I'm just a man who knows that black people are troublemakers.

  • @Leatherbubba and i'm just a man who knows you're a god damned racist bigot...and of no consequence to humanity until your sick thought turn into sick deeds.

now you sick bastard, get professional help before my taxes are wasted by paying for your long expensive stay at a federal prison.

you are one sick scary dude!
