  • i can see myself playing this exact piece in 25 years while asleep!........... in my dreams :o

  • This made the whole baroque period look like a piece of shit.

  • Beethoven did not "compose" this piece the way he did his other ones. This was one he sat down and played at some poor blind girl's house at night, during full moon, hence the name. He played all three movements back to back as he invented them. Then he went home and wrote them down on paper.

  • @arooobine BULL-FUCKING-SHIT

  • @pelvicthrusta Hmm... I read a story about this in a history book, cannot remember which book. But I think you're right. I just looked it up and could find no other sources regarding the story. Bummer, would have been a good story!

  • @pelvicthrusta hahahahahahahahahahaha your reaction made my day

  • @arooobine I just read about it and he composed it for his 17 year old pupil Countess Giulietta Gucciardi with whom he was madly in love... and the inspiration for the name apparently came from a poet i think

  • @yisoonshin12 Yeah that's what wikipedia says, and that's a little more believable anyway.

  • @arooobine I read it somewhere else on some music website but wikipedia is usually right anyway. I think the common misconception about wikipedia is that since it could be edited by anyone people don't consider it to be a reliable source. But I've only seen one thing that makes no sense and it was changed about 20 minutes after it was posted

  • @arooobine LOL. Sorry for breaking it to You, but all those stories about 'pianist closing his eyes and composing a piece in one breath in some heart touching circumstances' are nothing more than silly fanciful stories which one would like to believe in...but truth is that, most piano masterpieces took at least months, sometimes years to be completed...and very often were dedicated to the person of the same sex...

  • The screen's having sezuires.....?

  • this is cool

  • I'd like to see this at 250% speed

  • @levaslevas Have you seen the movie The Gray? Imagine if the survivors all had pianos and the wolves were interested in them. That's what 250% speed sounds like.

  • I like the first one better..

  • *asian parent* "Good...now put the blindfold back on and play it facing the other way while being suspended from the cieling"

  • im addicted to this !!

  • a thousand times better that any famous pianist playing... they just get out of the pulse!

  • Hey, hearing this makes me type 140% faster!!

  • It's good to have 4 hands.

  • i'd like to see this at 150% speed.

  • Its over NINE THOUSAND!!!!!

  • When you feel down , just listen to this song, then go, and conquer the world.

  • I love to listen to this while play the best game ever (Minecraft).

  • Leave this one to the asians.

  • thumbs up if you think that this is the best techno tune ever.

  • So I must ask: How long have you been playing piano for? You're really damn talented! haha

  • Dude, AllI know about pianos is that you push a key and it makes noise. This kinda snapped my brain in half then stomped on it a little. Then it bought it a drink and two tickets to Paris. I'm confused.

  • I played this on Stepmania Once.... I failed :(

  • I've played this piece once on my actual piano.....got it right on the 2nd try...really hard.....But got the whole song by hearing

  • and we said beethoven was deaf

  • @Eclaire468 Some deaf people can still do amazing things. Also if you are blind too..like Stevie Wonder.[dunno if right spelling].

  • gracias amigo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • after full screen of the video (and the flashing) the world is spinning lol!

  • Way to make me feel inadequate about my [lack of] piano skills :(((

  • @ChristyEmanuelson Dont say that, i saw someone play this in person and i didnt think i was that good after all, now i know about a minute of it and ive only been playing for about 8 months self taught

  • This is like the chuck norris version of the first movement.

  • I just realized a couple notes are held longer than what they should be

  • @DeathhsLegacy Or shorter. Not exact. All that work just to be wrong..

    Tsk tsk.

  • @james88836 if you know how to play piano and you wanna play this, go for it!

  • I want to ask in what grade can play this piece?

  • @Daniel15au thanks!!! (-^_^)-

  • Epic English Cop Chase!

  • i'm not an expert in piano but i think in some parts of the piece you are supposed to play softer and some parts louder—i don't think you've got that down...

  • @funnyapples1 I'm not sure the program being used can interpret dynamics in songs... I think just the notes.

  • Good. Now play it backwards.

  • Wasn't a big problem for my little sis at all! Same as the Death Waltz one in the suggestions. (It's her older sister here.)

  • this the first ever real song i learned on the piano ^-^

  • Challenge considered. Challenge denied

  • @Reika15ful People actually do play this song IRL.

  • I saw Shroder playing this song last night on "Happiness is a warm blanket" after the Peanuts Thanksgiving special... Then I thought in the comics the black keys aren't real...

    Mind blown.

  • @Daniel15au yay!!!! ^o^

  • @Daniel15au awwwwwww yeah thx dude ur the best

  • my favorite piece from beethoven

  • IF BEETHOVEN WAS DEAF WRITING THIS PARTICULAR PIECE, I bet he didn't even know how awesome this song was. Or he would have smelly trousers.

  • @1234567890123544baby

Beethoven wasn't deaf at the time he wrote this Sonata. Further more, when Beethoven was deaf writing this 9th Symphony, he knew exactly how it would sound like because he composed it and heard it all in his head.

  • Wow, this is actually not as difficult as I anticipated it to be; I have the first minute and a half accomplished :D

Breaking it down, the right hand is doing most of the work.. like most pieces lol

  • @Twiggy286 Yeah it's just patterns really. I can play the first 30 seconds well and at the right speed, after I've finished Pathetique I'll move onto this and hopefully get it finished.

  • @NCONiall Good luck! :)

  • @Twiggy286 Thanks and good luck to you too! :)

  • @IQKZZZ Oh I knew it was a joke I was just trying to play a long, mastering the piece is very very difficult. I can only play up to 0.28 well and I'll tell you 0.17-0.24 is an absolute finger twister, playing that part 3 times in a row really makes my hands hurt.

  • i know how to play this song, but not fast. If i play it fast, i will mess up like hell!

  • The video flashing almost have me a seizure.

  • @TheYO064

    gave* Dyslexia fail.

  • @TheYO064 The game also simulates blinking...

  • @TheYO064 Gave me a bad headache.

  • @TheYO064 Like you've been hit with a thousand flashbangs!!

  • @TheYO064 ChrisKogos, just incase you read this, your video is flashing because you made the video at a different framerate than what you recorded it at, so it fills the extra frames with flashes.

  • do your fingers hurt after playing this or get tired??

  • @PianoDude1011 ...really??.....no seriously?

  • @Phull55 um...yes?

  • @PianoDude1011 *epic facepalm*

  • @PianoDude1011 no no wait *chuck norris facepalm*

  • @Phull55 wats the difference?

  • Watching this video: Oh well, comuters are really good at this sort of thing...*sees green bar at bottom* OH SHIIT THIS MAN IS GOOOD!!!!

  • "after seeing this I feel a shit" that my sir is filarious

  • 8 people are haters with *no* taste in music.

  • 'How to play' LOL

  • finaly the top 2 comments are realated to the video

    BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA!!!!

  • The mediafire link for the midi doesnt work!! D: Please send me a link of a version like this that has the left and right hand notes different colours!!!!!!!

  • this song is so hard even the program blinks in agony every seconds .

  • There are three movements for this sonata. Look up all of them.

  • This is too fast, the original is MUCH slower

  • @ThePenguinExpress not really, this one is the one thats meant to be.

  • It's a little annoying to have the screen blank out every few seconds.

  • I can play the left hand (blue) When i can't play the right hand (green) and i can play the right hand (green) when i can't play the left hand (blue).

  • @EvolutionaryGamingEG you had too small hands ;)

  • why does it seem so easy now i looked at this song when i first started playing 3 years ago and thought impossible... but now it looks easy enough i might learn it this weekend

  • thumbs up if u cant play this

  • Comment removed

  • This is not EXACTLY how you would want to play the moonlight sonata. You would want to keep the left/right hand accompanies much much softer than what the computer is doing. You would also use rubato. You would use more dynamics. Everything sounds forte. It's still pretty slow tbh. play it how horowitz plays it the 1960 something version. or the barenboim version. sorry bro, but i must troll. please respond :)

  • @pianonger I agree. Beethoven pieces definitely require more finesse than a computer could handle.

  • is it weird that i have 3 erections after listening to this?

  • i can only play the right hand all the way through to this my left hand can't go fast enough :'(

  • And my teacher wants me to learn this by December ._.

  • @ItsACaptainDan You have enough time O:)....

  • loool im trying to learn this for my music GCSE

  • I can't do this! I can barely do the simplest of piano! xD

  • 0:57 wow

  • This just proves that Beethoven is a disciple of Chuck Norris. BTW, Chuck Norris died 10 years before Beethoven died. Death just hasn't got the courage to tell him that.

  • funny thing is, for a genius composer and player, this would be played by his hands naturaly and instictively

"lesser" players (the average piano player) have trouble because the music (and the movements made to play it) are not natural to them

I imagine the great composers had more trouble writting all this stuff down than actually imagining it

  • woah how did beethoven even play this as well as compose

  • From That Video, What did u learn? Beethoven is a god...

  • @steven960929 With very big hands :D which is why he can stretch over so many keys ._."

  • Practicing this song at this tempo always makes me hurt :(

  • This didn't help me learn how to play the song, all it did is show me how low my chances of learning it really are

  • I SHALL MASTER THIS SONG

  • @RiC0FLiK0 my reaction exactly. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED LUDWIG.

  • @RiC0FLiK0 If you're calling it a song then I don't think you will master it. :P

  • Amazing that Beethoven composed this deaf

  • @F073921 Not just this song, he composed a lot others, and it's amazing how he could compose all of them while being deaf, the man was a genius!

  • i want to use this video to learn this song, but the video cuts out and flashes, and its giving me a headache ;;

  • Beethoven was and always will be a god among men...

  • Take THAT all you Guitar Hero basterds! When you do this at 100%, I'll give you a golf clap. :D

  • well, now i know how. doesn't mean i can.

  • i gave up at 0:00

  • Dude, just watching this makes my fingers seize and cramp up o.o

  • I always wondered if I would be any good at playing the piano. Now I know I wouldn't...

  • It's like the Best Final Boss Music but With a hint of Adventure in it!!!!

    Once M0:00RE?

  • Best 6:55 of my life

  • I want to learn this very badly, but i don't even own a piano :(

  • Way too fast DD:!!.. and the slower speed is too fast too!. hmm,,, Hoenstly i think its just me whos to slow and my fingers dont want to break lighting speed.

  • after seeing this I feel a shit

  • @pipex8748624 then watch him play the song. it'll make u feel even worse than this

  • @pipex8748624 no let it inspire you :)

  • Only genius can create this song - as it is hard enough to play it!!!

  • great job on the midi..! i make midis myself and i can't even begin to imagine how long this took, lol xD

  • 7 people tried to watch but they got eye cancer

  • Asian Dad: Good son now play it backwards

    Son: do i have to

Asian Dad: no but if u want your mom to be killed.....

  • love 1:15

  • just got the sheets today lol didnt even realise half of it's in g sharp

  • I DID IT!!!!!!!!! PERFECTION!!!!!

  • the blinking screen gave me a seizure

  • Unfortunately the screen is blinking sometimes. Thank you for uploading!

  • By the way, best interpretation ever!

  • Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 - 1827) = Universal Genius

  • beethoven is a FUCKENG GENIUS

  • how do you make the synthesia play it by itself?

  • i keep thinking i'm blinking...

  • i usually watch this clip before sleeping xD

  • if you watch it in full screen and just stare at it the whole time, when the song is finished and you look away it looks like everything is moving, trippy stuff.

  • @ChrisKogos You should use 1235 sometimes when the first three notes are close together.

  • one day ill learn this, but not today

  • Hey, can you teach me the ways of your awesomeness?

  • Am i the only one that's getting alot of glitches while watching? Great work tho for putting this together and on youtube.

  • Thats the asian part of the moonlight sonata...

this movement i just like to listen to ;)

  • /watch?v=mn7v6wRSp7Y is someone playing it

  • @hazeromer I'm sure you're just trolling or something but what people have come to call the "Moonlight Sonata" is just the first mvt. of this sonata. This video is of the third mvt.

  • @hazeromer ...it's not even properly named "Moonlight Sonata."

  • HOW THE FUCK YOU SUPPOSED TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY THIS?!!!

  • @ThExLeGeNdxv2 Very carefully.

  • @ThExLeGeNdxv2 that is simple mate: get a piano and practice, practice, practice, practice and then you practice some more ^^

  • @ThExLeGeNdxv2 Just time, it's not impossible, synthesia makes it looks harder that it is.

And if you really can't remember this, you can use sheets)

  • @ThExLeGeNdxv2 Be Asian.

  • @ThExLeGeNdxv2 You gotta be skilled.
