The writing about the companion cube was written by the previous test subject. He became so attached to it because it was the only thing he had there (He was there for years and years, so he kind of went a little coocoo, kind of like that movie with Tom Hanks and the volleyball Willson) but anyways. He kind of "fell in love" with the cube and was later pretty pissed off as GLaDOS made him kill it in a later test.
Wierd, at 1:55, when the companion cube it's the wall has he's turning, it's beats match, " here comes the bride" Dum, Da, Dada, No i'm not a Music major, yes I play an instrument, yes I'm a nerd :)
GLaDOS: You gave up your companion cube much faster then the other subjects...Well done.
