@cheeriosinabowl It's still a very nice track. Lack of business has brought it down and needs help, but it's still a great track. I love the place. It needs more money to clean it up a bit and to attract more visitors. They simply need more business.
... thank you for the update on FE racetrack. I will have to make a trip there this summer. I am sure it's changed a lot since I last saw it. Also, horse racing has declined in popularity over the past 20 years, even the big tracks (ie., Woodbine) have suffered a lot with far fewer people gambling. Times have changed. Cheers.
@cheeriosinabowl Woodbine hasn't suffered nearly as much. Our purses have increased and we stay strong, Fort Erie had to drop their purses twice last year. I work for my dad who's a trainer at Woodbine and we had to make several trips down to the Fort to race. It's still nice, but it needs to be improved. If you make a trip, try to bring friends. Open some new people up to the sport. Fort Erie and horse racing needs it.

I haven't been to the Fort Erie track in many years. Used to love it as a kid.
Does it still have that cozy, warm small-town type of feeling there?
