@chonisn the kjv is 77% based off the Douay-Rheims and the other 23% appears to come from Germanic middle age attempts to translate the Latin Vulgate. Those particular German translations were done in Old German into Old English and are REALLY BAD since those languages had a much smaller vocabulary in the 13th century. When comparing the German texts to Apostolic Greek writings the errors are made clear by the scrutiny of modern scholars. In short, the kjv is garbage!

His sin against God wounded his nature and it became fallen. With Adams sin death entered the universe and his bound was broken with God. Man can never taste death if joined with divine life.

@eskatee What kind of Rabbi can't speak the language speak the language that all Hebrew text are written in? That's like saying the Pope has no idea how to speak Latin. Besides even most beggars of the time period knew how to speak 3 languages. Also, it was also forbidden at that time to teach the law of the prophets in local tongues (dialects varied from town to town). They still read Hebrew texts in this manner still to this day!
The stories of the OT were written in Aramaic and Greek. The Pope may speak Latin but there is nothing 'holy' about a language. Even the Roman soldiers who lived in Israel in biblical times did not speak pure Latin, but 'vulgate latin'.
@jomc20 By far the Oldest OT copies that survive antiquity is the Septuagint. Copies date to 450 BC (except for Maccabees since that took place in 150 BC). The Septuagint was written completely in Greek. Since the time of Alexander, Greek was the dominate language in the middle east. It was the trade tongue until 300 AD. The Septuagint was circulated by all Jews outside of Palestine.
The Tanakh was circulated by the Sanhedrin and Herodians. No complete physical copies of it survive the ages that are older than 1,600 (850 or so years younger than the Septuagint). I personal suspect the Herodians altered scripture intentionally to suit their political ends. Besides Matthew 16:5-12 clearly tells us "Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees"

He would of had much clearer and functional understanding of ancient Greek than any 100 men alive today possible could. Old Latin and Vulgar Latin are very different. No, it is not just that translations can cause confusion. Even if scholars go back to the original Greek, you canot explain away the fact that different authors describing the same events give completely different versions or leave things out. It is obvious that the Bible was written by many different people over hundreds of years. There is no 'original author'!

@jimibones83 The Ark was made of Acacia, a very precious and ancient wood. Septuagint translates it as Setim Wood (incorruptible wood). It was covered in pure gold and adorned with 2 cherubim. @chonisn the kjv is 77% based off the Douay-Rheims and the other 23% appears to come from Germanic middle age attempts to translate the Latin Vulgate. Those particular German translations were done in Old German into Old English and are REALLY BAD since those languages had a much smaller vocabulary in the 13th century. When comparing the German texts to Apostolic Greek writings the errors are made clear by the scrutiny of modern scholars. In short, the kjv is garbage!

@jgarner2069 The Lord didn't. He created man in glory, Adam was filled with divine life at birth (see Luke 9:28-36 for more information of such a state). His sin against God wounded his nature and it became fallen. With Adams sin death entered the universe and his bound was broken with God. Man can never taste death if joined with divine life.
Through Adams sin on the tree in the Garden we know death. Through Jesus spotless sacrifice on tree of Calvary we may again know eternal life.

The stories of the OT were written in Aramaic and Greek. The Pope may speak Latin but there is nothing 'holy' about a language. Even the Roman soldiers who lived in Israel in biblical times did not speak pure Latin, but 'vulgate latin'.

The Septuagint was written completely in Greek. Since the time of Alexander, Greek was the dominate language in the middle east. It was the trade tongue until 300 AD. The Septuagint was circulated by all Jews outside of Palestine.

The Tanakh was circulated by the Sanhedrin and Herodians. No complete physical copies of it survive the ages that are older than 1,600 (850 or so years younger than the Septuagint). I personal suspect the Herodians altered scripture intentionally to suit their political ends. Current Rabbinical Jewish defense "Rome destroyed the temple and without proper care the older scrolls perished." But in the case of blasphemy, people often post direct insults directed towards the Lord Himself, but also the saints. One example would be a man who was discussing a verse from Revelations with me, that was in regards to Mary. He reworded it so it sounded sexual. I crossed it with 20 bible translations. None wrote anything like that. He refused to tell me where it was from. So I banned him.

Even if scholars go back to the original Greek, you canot explain away the fact that different authors describing the same events give completely different versions or leave things out. It is obvious that the Bible was written by many different people over hundreds of years. There is no 'original author'!

@TheSabazios To follow Christ is to be righteous. He was the ultimate example of how to live & He left us 2 commandments, love God & love your neighbor. He said He did not come to do away with the Law but to fulfill it, also He said those who love me obey my commandments (John 14:21) this requires renewing the mind & it should be said that no one is righteous by their deeds but through the blood of Christ, otherwise we would all be like the Pharisees & scribes..evil, spiritually dead legalists.

@petepamf Jesus never broke even one of Gods Laws. The pharisees and sadducees twisted a number of laws and teachings. In Mark 8:14-21 Jesus instructs the the apostles not to trust their teachings. Jesus disregarded perversions and distortions of "His" Laws.
