  • Thanks, this was really helpful. I didn't even realize they were out until I got a digital warning from the state trouper last night! Guess we should all take a walk around our cars and check the lights once in a while. :-)

  • haven't seen many clocks have you? haha

  • Thank you!! This video is exactly what I needed

  • u meant ANTICLOCKWISE though, thanks for the video anyway, helped a lot.

  • head driver screw head lol

  • i can turn the gray housing? i have a 2007 corolla and it wont turn

  • flat screw head driver haha

  • You get led bulbs of ebay

  • I have a 2003 Camry and the concept is the same, except you can use a screw driver (or cordless screw driver) to pop out the pins. Very easy to do. Don't pay our the nose just to change two little bulbs. Good luck and thanks for the video post!

  • Thanks for posting this vid! Very helpful!

  • dont need to disconnect the cord for the licence plate lights. just unscrew it so easy.

  • whats the website you got the l.e.d bulbs from i have an 09 camry se model

  • thanks that helped alot

  • Just did my 2010 Toyota Camry SE model. It counter clock wise when you open. Just thought this might help.

  • Perfect video on my exact topic! Thank you and thanks YouTube!

  • thank you thank you! it save some money to do it my self

  • i have a 2003 toyota camry is it the same way? if yes which bulb should i buy there are veriety of them?

  • i have a 2010 camry, its the same way right? everything looks the same and i got up to taking out the bulb after unplugging it and it wont come out, turned it clockwise but it wont turn

  • @Br0wnB3ast I am not sure if the configuration is different for the latest Generation of Toyota Camry 2010+. Most cars make you twist the bulb housing. You may need to try exerting with a bit more force but that decision is up to you because you may break your bulb housing in the process.

  • @rainierakarain just needed more force, thanks man. LED's look sick =D

  • i can't turn the gray housing?

  • @cestwen You can turn the grey housing. This is where the bulb is sitting.

  • Would it be the same for 07 Corolla's license lights?

  • @mrqb1987 Yes

  • Thank you so much for the information, I found it extremly helpful!

  • Thanks for showing how to do this. It really aggravated me that my manual said, "Do not try to replace the license plate light bulbs by yourself [because] you may damage the vehicle."

  • Great tutorial...exactly what I needed. The process is easy, but had I not watched this, I probably would have snapped something off and been really sad. :)

  • Thanks bro!

  • dude you are super smart.. i hope the led's gets you laid.. good luck big man

  • I have a problem where the little plastic screw holding up the license plate light housing had broken on one side and the housing has fallen down in front of the plate. I have an interim solution, but any idea where I can get a replacement part? Really hard part to find.

  • @mattconroy Have you tried contacting a Toyota Dealership? They usually have parts for everything.

  • @rainierakarain - I suspect that's what I'll have to do, yeah.

  • will the

WLED-xHP9-T Wedge Base Bulb from superbrightleds work? or do you think i should go for the

    WLED-xHP5 Wedge Base Bulb

  • @MarioZrg what type of bulb are both of those? are they 194 bulbs?

  • '05 Camry owner's manual says to contact dealer to replace these. They wanted $44 to replace both bulbs. They sold me the bulbs for $6, and this video showed me how to install them. You saved me $38 - AWESOME!

  • Used the same method to change the plate lights for Toyota Corolla, was a breeze. Thanks rainierakarain.

  • Thank you very much rainierakarain. This video helped me a lot. You are a money saver man. :) Thanks again...

  • @albinfrn No problem. Anything to help out the community. :)

  • i have an 03 camry and it needs the cross screwdriver. and im having problems taking it out. i unscrewed it but it wont come out. the screw is still in there.

  • @lilajcartman Is it a cross screw in a center housing? If that is the case, you may just need to forcibly pull it out. If you do break the plastic screw, you can buy them for cheap at any toyota dealer. I believe they are less than a dollar per. I hope this helps.

  • hey man i got a question i got a camry le 08 i put the leds in my car but im having trouble 4 my dome light everything lights up except the dome light i put #194 to license and vannity map light and my courtesy door why the dome light don;t light up on #194 led?? do u know why

  • The dome light does not use a 194 LED bulb. The Dome light uses a 3022 Festoon Bulb. A standard bulb looks like a capsule with a filament in the center. If you want to change your dome light, you need to get a 3022 Festoon bulb, specifically 31mm. Anything bigger than 31mm will not fit. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

  • so is that the same fitment for 2009 camry le?

  • yes. :)

  • so the bulbs are the same for all GEN 6 CAMRYs? i have an 07 camry LE so these bulbs would work for them?

  • Yup! I have an 07 Camry LE too so they definitely work.

  • i cant thank you enough for making this video and posting it. i would have had to drive to the next town to have the work done and wasted my whole day off. the last time i had my wipers changed toyota charged me $25 for labor, i bet they charge $50 or more to change these license plate bulbs. it took us less then 15 minutes, the job went just as you said, except for a glow in the dark trunk release which jut pulled off and popped back on when the job was finished. thank you so much !!!!

  • I'm glad the video was helpful. I know how much the dealer rips you off trying to do simple things. Anyways enjoy the mod.

  • After you get all the retaining pins out, there's still the emergency trunk release lever in the way. Do you have to remove the emergency lever somehow? The liner won't come out with the e-lever in the way. I'm about ready to sawzall that goddam lever off!! I have 2005 Camry LE V6. Thanks.

  • LOL... I feel your frustration. Unfortunately I don't know what the trunk lining looks like for the Gen 5 Camry (2005). You don't have to take the whole trunk lining off though. If you just get the area nearest to the taillights, you should be fine. I took the whole thing off for the purpose of the tutorial and to make things easier.

  • it just pulls straight off and then pops on when done

  • You're completely right about not having to take the liner entirely off. If I take out a few of the little plastic pop-rivet thingies, i can reach my arm in and twist out the bulb holder.

6th Gen (mine) is 2001-2006. Yours looks like 7th Gen; 2006 and onward. At least that's what wikipedia say...

  • LOL Wikipedia is so inaccurate sometimes. Anyways I take it you were able to get it out. Happy Modding!

  • im sure you are well past this problem by now but for everyone else, this part just pops straight off just pull straight back and then pop it back on when finished replacing the trunk liner

  • In theory you are correct, funchi. Unfortunately for me, the reality was that it took a hell of a lot of force to pop the bulb-holder straight off (maybe because it was still a factory seal). I couldn't get enough leverage to pop the holder off by just reaching my arm in the partially removed liner :( I had to take the whole liner off so I could get directly at the holder. But that was the 1st time i'd ever done it. Now that I have a bit of experience, I could do it with liner on :-D

  • i like to install hid's on my camry 07 XLE that has automatic headlights don i need a relay to install them

  • FYI, there is no need to remove the whole lining. Just remove the ones at the top so that it gives you enough room to gain access to the bulbs.

  • I know. For the purpose of the tutorial, I took it off so that the camera can see the back lining. It would have been harder to film.

  • Also, no need to unplug. Again, great videos
