  • I will have mine in 2 hours... Kinda scary to read most of the comments. I have had alot of information from the hospital prior to this procedure. I will also get a sedative spray at the back of my throat. Hope it doesn't feel like drowning... I will comment later on this afternoon, that is if I survive :).

  • I had this done the other day and its fucking horrible. I knew what they were going to do but nothing prepared me for the feeling on that tube being forced down my throat into my stomach. It really felt like i was being choked or drowned. I really freaked out unexpectedly (to me anyway). I was pretty embarrassed afterwards.

  • Had one done today! Dang it even made me pee!!!!

  • When they first took me down they didn't sedate me. They stuck a small needle in the back of my hand & got me really wossy that I was still aware of what was going on. I struggled with it the first time but they sedated me fully for the 2nd one. Normally they don't sedate you for this procedure.

  • I had 2 of these done within the space of a week. This is one of the worst procedures you can get. Plus you can't eat properly for a few days afterwards.

  • @Mr77Magic didnt you get sadated?

  • Thanks for posting.

  • This was very good, as I am off for one of these precedures this coming Saturday, last time I had one 15 years ago, they sprayed the back of my thoat to deaden any feeling, problem was i felt as if i was drowning, so i will be asking for something to put me to sleep this time. Excellent video

  • Thank you so much for the video. It really helped me out with a lot of questions I had

  • Thank you for that explanation. I wish I'd seen this before I had mine as none of this was explained in detail and I really was freaking out and feeling nauseous right up until I was placed on the table and given the medication. Afterwards I realised that it was nothing and have had two more since without all the worry.

    Thank you once again.

  • @milmot1945 I'm due to have an upper GI endoscopy in a few weeks. Just wondering if you were sedated or not? I'm quite worried about this as it sounds horrible! x

  • Thanx.
