@mrpsb7 Those are the only so called "boxers" who fight in MMA, the ones who don't have the all around boxing game either. How could we expect them to bother learning takedown defence when they are just guys who can punch, that just masquerade as "boxers" and can't even learn that?
lol this jiu jitsu shit is so fucking gay...you faggots would not last 10 seconds in a boxing match with your pussy ass glass jaws..i seen 1 punch thrown and then the faggot had to take it to the ground and start sucking his opponents cock..boxing is for real men..fucking another man on the ground is for pussies.
@MrPhatmuscle bjj teaches you how to break bones and tear ligaments i would way rather fight a boxer in a real fight. plenty of people know how to throw their fists at least if ur fighting a boxer u might have a chance (assuming hes a similar size) but if u get into a fight with a jiu jitsu fighter u better hope he doesnt get ur on the ground or ur over son.
@MrPhatmuscle Whos the bigger faggot? The one taking it in the ass and doing nothing about it, or the one giving it. I'd personally rather give it then receive wouldnt u? BJJ is more technique then anything. As soon as you start getting old, your boxing goes out the window. Same thing for any mma but especially for the ones that require speed, power, etc. IMHO boxing is more of a sport then a art... Movement, breathing, strikes. Pretty damn simple. BJJ there are thousands of moves and counters.
Good job to both men. Both guys looked like they were working hard. Both were trying to advance position, especially the gentleman on top. I could see his BJJ at work, for example when he was working for the Americana from side control. Best of luck to you both.
"He was not challenged on the ground in this fight"? He didn't escape the guillotine, he just laid there and waited for the typical shitty ref'ing to cater to the crowd and stand them up.
I say it over and over, MMA is the practice of not knowing how to fight. Boxing is a science. MMA's ground game is dogshit on the street. I'm poking eyes and bashing nuts if you wanna roll around with me.
@ChicagoProdigy You do realize that a ground fighter has a better chance of getting to your eyes and balls than you , right? MMA guys don't fight on the street like they do in the ring, just like boxers don't either.
With mma rules, on a 1 vs 1 fight, jiu jitsu beats all. Period. On a 1 vs 1 fight, without rules, not so much. On a takedown, the boxer can hit the jiu jitsu fighter on the back, or neck. And that will definitely finish any fight. On a 2, or 3 vs 1 fight, boxing wins hands down.
A boxer will very seldomly beat an mma fighter. that is, fighting mma rules. I dare you to put an mma fighter in the ring with a boxer and tell him not to kick or grab.

you cant take a bum from the street and have him represent boxing.. now any top professional boxer will kill any mma fighter using mma rules...a professional boxer could kill a mma fighter with those small gloves..
@puertorricane- you've obviously have never had a real fight yourself over wise you'd realize that there are other ways of fighting besides boxing. what are you saying that the best boxer's are the hardest people in the world?
jajjaa first what does fight has to do with knowledge.. and secondly i've had many fights since i was a boxer and now im in the army where all we do is train in hand to hand combat plus we use combatives wich is kind of like mma but they dont let you use your hands.. you know people out by hitting them and you do that with your hands
yeah thats why Mayweather is in such a hurry to get into MMA. please if you have no ground skills you will get your ass handed to ya in the cage. look at all the MMA guys who would fight Floyd on the spot cause they would kick his ass
Floyd doesn't need the big paydays he has more then enough money. besides I guarantee he would get the biggest payday ever in MMA and I guaratee he wouldn't want to fight anyone with a strong ground game. just like he is afraid to fight Pac man he is afraid to lose and he knows he would be made to look like a fool
just because he doesnt need it doesnt mean he's gonna fight for free or for less than what he's worth, secondly who in MMA is going to give mayweather 20millions to fight 5rds against an mma fighter and against wich one.. UFC owners know better then that to do it.. they know UFC is going up and if they put a real boxer against an mma their credibility will go way down and they just rather keep making money of fans like you that believe all the hype
naw that not true they r hard core athltetes most boxers r fags that think they know about fightin cause they can move there head real fast back and fourth
@puertorricane wtf how are boxers more dangerous? mma fighters have differe ways to win a fight in a stand up the mma fighter can kick knee and punch and boxers only know how to punch and if the mma fight is loose standing up he can take it to the ground easily because boxers have no take down defence so please explain why a boxer is more dangerous oh and i traind and boxing since i was a kid and i know wtf im talking about i rather fight a boxer then a bjj fighter any day
That's like saying a boxer who has the best jab in the world, but can't throw hooks, crosses, or uppercuts is the most dangerous boxer on the planet. In fact, he would get schooled by a well rounded fighter. Boxing may be the fundemental striking art, but the other tools count too.
@puertorricane likewise u can take any bum from the street to represent BJJ but get a professional 4 th degree black belt and they would rip and boxer apart.....only way that boxer has a chance is to know how to grapple this is just they way it is >:D
nope is not the way it is.. you might want to think that but you guys are wrong but we would never know because the top boxers will never fight in mma due to the fact that they make too much money in boxing so there's no reason to risk it in mma for peanuts
why did the ref stand them back up in the beginning? the dude on bottom was working a choke which the top guy almost got caught in a second time... this fight could have easily gone the other way although the top guy showed a better understanding for ground game but his take down was sloppy
yeah, i know. the other guy had his hips up high and was digging his shoulder in so thats a partial defense. i would have rather seen the bottom guy's arms get tired and have to play off of his back than the ref standing them back up. you're right though. i didnt realize how long they were there when watching it the first time. it seemed shorter
Well, you can also tell that he trapped one of the arms which is why that choke didn't work. If you even have a purple belt in Jiujitsu you know that you can't be choked out if they have one of your arms. They were just holding position and that's why the referee stood them up. If that guy let go of the arm and applied the choke correctly, he would have won. Maybe next time, though.
Unfortunately an ARM IN GUILLOTINE lets your opponent have an ARM IN THE CHOKE, which all he has to do is turn his head toward it to stop the other guy from choking him. You never, ever trap the arm in the guillotine unless you're looking to improve your position.
Just like in the rear naked choke, if you trap an arm in there it gives a little pocket of air, no matter how tight the grip is, that's why triangles have to be done with such perfection.
a guillotine with the arm in is usually called an anaconda choke, but cant really be done when the person is in your guard. but they definitely do choke just as well as the guillotine.
Well aware. "You never trap the arm in the guillotine unless you're looking to improve position." If you have a modicum of jiujitsu ability you know that if someone traps an arm you can just turn your head toward the arm and get air. It's the same when you see these retards doing rear chokes with an arm in. (You can't do a guillotine from anything from the guard, unless it's standing, so we'll just assume that I meant the guard the entire time, but thanks.)
@SocialDissimulation you actually CAN finish the guillotine with the arm in it's actually quite common these days especially in MMA. You turn your body towards him and do a crunch thus filling up the space with your body instead of extending away and make sure your shoulder stays in contact with the back of his neck as you squeeze. Arm-In is more wrist doing the choke than your forearm. Try it, it works. I didn't believe it either until i did it myself. Your defense is correct though.
That requires so much movement and time that it's ineffective. It would be so much easier just to let go of one arm and trap that head alone than keep an arm in there. Although, it should work against some novices now that I think of it.
I got someone with a kimura from guard the other day and was surprised the person tapped out.
@SocialDissimulation you are correct. it's easier to do it w/o the arm I was just stating that it's possible to finish. But you'll never catch a black belt with the arm in i agree. I don't guillotine a lot myself I'm more of an arm triangle guy. But the guillotine is definitely better w/o arm turning to makes it harder for him to jump passed though. Just put your leg on his back to help to you turn just like you would with a kimura. I agree with you on the arm-in but the hip turn is gold.
Lol that guy wasn't a boxer, please stop trying to criticize boxing. I have already seen plenty of strikers beat the hell out of "ground game." Enough already.
Yeah, only bums lol. Those guys are all boxers/kickboxers. I even have one favorited on my youtube of some guy beating a boxer that I didn't even list.
Chuck Liddell's style is kickboxing, not jiujitsu. Nice try though, lol.
Yeah when you're 39 you should be still be fighting like your 20 huh? LMfao fail. Chuck Liddell doesn't have "Hands," and is nothing in the striking world. Even your beloved Anderson Silva got dropped in his first fight in only the 2nd round in boxing. Wanna know why he went to mma? Cause he can't cut it in the striking world ;)
The only failure here is your rebuttal. How does him being old make him any less of a striker? If striking caps all, why not just punch the guy in the face?
Oh yeah, because more experienced strikers with MMA backgrounds knock him the fuck out lmao.
Anderson Silva went to MMA because you're more of a complete athlete. You'll notice that he won his second fight in boxing, clearly; he can cut it. ;)
Some guys just want more than paddy-cake. Silva is one of them.
FIghting doesn't make you a "More complete athlete." If you want that then look at football. Anderson won his second boxing match against who? Exactly, and he got ktfo by who? Exactly.
Exactly, he left with a KO and lost by a KO. Which only solidifies that anybody can knock anybody out in boxing. It's an uncontrolled environment sometimes, and it's stupid to stand there and get punched 2,000 times in the face until you're like Ali, lol.
Umm that proves nothing... it just proves that he sucks at boxing. He beat and lost to fuckin cab drivers... and Ali has parkinson's disease... that has nothing to do with boxing.
I'm sure that it has nothing to do with the fact that he got struck over one million times in the head. That couldn't possibly be a factor. It proves a lot by the way, it proves that he could hang; but wanted a bigger challenge.
It doesn't... Freddy Roach has parkinsons too... and he barely had a boxing career.... george foreman got hit more in the head than Ali... he doesn't have parkinsons, joe frazier doesn't have it... hmmm.... how does that prove he can hang??? He fucking lost.
Most people with Parkinson's disease are described as having idiopathic Parkinson's disease (having no specific cause). There are far less common causes of Parkinson's disease including genetic, toxins, (((((((head trauma))))))), cerebral anoxia, and drug-induced Parkinson's disease.
"For example, some scientists think that Muhammad Ali got Parkinson's because he had so many head injuries when he was a boxer. But not all boxers get Parkinson's"
Also possible, but you're trying to sit here like a retard and say that getting punched two billion times in the face doesn't fuck your nervous system up.
"the rate of Parkinson's disease for boxers has not been shown to be any higher than for other professions. He added that football players, despite often suffering multiple concussions, have not been shown to suffer widely from the disease. "
"Past episodes of head trauma are reported more frequently by individuals with Parkinson's disease than by others in the population. A recent methodologically strong retrospective study found that those who have experienced a head injury are four times more likely to develop Parkinsons disease than those who have never suffered a head injury."

Put credit where it is due. Kosen Judo = Origin of BJJ. Rickson said in his book that the japanese held back on teaching and taught only the basics because they were non-japanese and thus had to learn and evolve the art on their own. Helio did improve it, But he did not invent it. 99% is still from Kosen Judo.

Why doesn't the boxer just punch him in the stomach while he's on the ground? His hands were free, he could've punched him.
MultiTiger56 2 years ago
@MultiTiger56
Punching from your back is useless. Without their feet firmly on the ground, boxers can't do anything.

I do boxing myself and i would never want to fight with free fight rules because i know its no use with just punching skills and nothing more..
Would boxing be superior to free fighting, all MMA fighers would just do boxing.. and would not learn Ground Fighting at all...

you cant take a bum from the street and have him represent boxing.. now any top professional boxer will kill any mma fighter using mma rules...a professional boxer could kill a mma fighter with those small gloves..
puertorricane 2 years ago
@puertorricane- you've obviously have never had a real fight yourself over wise you'd realize that there are other ways of fighting besides boxing. what are you saying that the best boxer's are the hardest people in the world?
chemicalxi6 2 years ago
jajjaa first what does fight has to do with knowledge.. and secondly i've had many fights since i was a boxer and now im in the army where all we do is train in hand to hand combat plus we use combatives wich is kind of like mma but they dont let you use your hands.. you know people out by hitting them and you do that with your hands
puertorricane 2 years ago
:S you have along way to go.
cleve101 2 years ago
yeah thats why Mayweather is in such a hurry to get into MMA. please if you have no ground skills you will get your ass handed to ya in the cage. look at all the MMA guys who would fight Floyd on the spot cause they would kick his ass
MMACHMP 2 years ago
mayweather gets paid millions in boxing why would he get into mma to fight for peanuts...
puertorricane 2 years ago
Floyd doesn't need the big paydays he has more then enough money. besides I guarantee he would get the biggest payday ever in MMA and I guaratee he wouldn't want to fight anyone with a strong ground game. just like he is afraid to fight Pac man he is afraid to lose and he knows he would be made to look like a fool
MMACHMP 2 years ago
just because he doesnt need it doesnt mean he's gonna fight for free or for less than what he's worth, secondly who in MMA is going to give mayweather 20millions to fight 5rds against an mma fighter and against wich one.. UFC owners know better then that to do it.. they know UFC is going up and if they put a real boxer against an mma their credibility will go way down and they just rather keep making money of fans like you that believe all the hype
puertorricane 2 years ago
oh wow. What can a boxer do, when hes taken to the ground by a BJJ guy? yea thats right, nothing other than tap out.
Morgothhhh 2 years ago
always the same stupid argument.. is easy to defend against a take down and secondly good boxers will kill a guy trying to take them down

ur stupid boxing is 1 thing what happens when u get tooken down or choked or ur arm breaks boxing sucks its one thing

mmagamer4life 2 years ago
is gay for you and you have your preferences but still boxers are more dangerous fighters than mma fighters
puertorricane 2 years ago
how they know one thing how to throw a punch mma fighters r more well rounded then a boxer an mma figher has more tools
mmagamer4life 2 years ago
mma fighters are just street fighters boxers are professional fighters.. is two different things..
puertorricane 2 years ago
naw that not true they r hard core athltetes most boxers r fags that think they know about fightin cause they can move there head real fast back and fourth
mmagamer4life 2 years ago
@puertorricane wtf how are boxers more dangerous? mma fighters have differe ways to win a fight in a stand up the mma fighter can kick knee and punch and boxers only know how to punch and if the mma fight is loose standing up he can take it to the ground easily because boxers have no take down defence so please explain why a boxer is more dangerous oh and i traind and boxing since i was a kid and i know wtf im talking about i rather fight a boxer then a bjj fighter any day
JOAOBUNITAO 1 year ago
@puertorricane

MrEzpz 2 years ago
nope is not the way it is.. you might want to think that but you guys are wrong but we would never know because the top boxers will never fight in mma due to the fact that they make too much money in boxing so there's no reason to risk it in mma for peanuts

why did the ref stand them back up in the beginning? the dude on bottom was working a choke which the top guy almost got caught in a second time... this fight could have easily gone the other way although the top guy showed a better understanding for ground game but his take down was sloppy
XxChapter13xX 2 years ago
Those kind of chokes shouldn't last more than 10 seconds, it lasted almost for a whole minute. That means:
A: He didn't apply it correctly.
B: The other guy is Superman.
SocialDissimulation 2 years ago 17
yeah, i know. the other guy had his hips up high and was digging his shoulder in so thats a partial defense. i would have rather seen the bottom guy's arms get tired and have to play off of his back than the ref standing them back up. you're right though. i didnt realize how long they were there when watching it the first time. it seemed shorter
XxChapter13xX 2 years ago
Well, you can also tell that he trapped one of the arms which is why that choke didn't work. If you even have a purple belt in Jiujitsu you know that you can't be choked out if they have one of your arms. They were just holding position and that's why the referee stood them up. If that guy let go of the arm and applied the choke correctly, he would have won. Maybe next time, though.
SocialDissimulation 2 years ago 2
actually it's called an arm in guillotine. very well known by all jiu jitsu purple belts.
deertay13 2 years ago
Unfortunately an ARM IN GUILLOTINE lets your opponent have an ARM IN THE CHOKE, which all he has to do is turn his head toward it to stop the other guy from choking him. You never, ever trap the arm in the guillotine unless you're looking to improve your position.
Just like in the rear naked choke, if you trap an arm in there it gives a little pocket of air, no matter how tight the grip is, that's why triangles have to be done with such perfection.
SocialDissimulation 2 years ago
@SocialDissimulation
a guillotine with the arm in is usually called an anaconda choke, but cant really be done when the person is in your guard. but they definitely do choke just as well as the guillotine.
bjjiscool1294 2 years ago
SocialDissimulation 2 years ago
@SocialDissimulation you actually CAN finish the guillotine with the arm in it's actually quite common these days especially in MMA. You turn your body towards him and do a crunch thus filling up the space with your body instead of extending away and make sure your shoulder stays in contact with the back of his neck as you squeeze. Arm-In is more wrist doing the choke than your forearm. Try it, it works. I didn't believe it either until i did it myself. Your defense is correct though.
bjjartist 2 years ago
That requires so much movement and time that it's ineffective. It would be so much easier just to let go of one arm and trap that head alone than keep an arm in there. Although, it should work against some novices now that I think of it.
I got someone with a kimura from guard the other day and was surprised the person tapped out.
SocialDissimulation 2 years ago
@SocialDissimulation you are correct. it's easier to do it w/o the arm I was just stating that it's possible to finish. But you'll never catch a black belt with the arm in i agree. I don't guillotine a lot myself I'm more of an arm triangle guy. But the guillotine is definitely better w/o arm turning to makes it harder for him to jump passed though. Just put your leg on his back to help to you turn just like you would with a kimura. I agree with you on the arm-in but the hip turn is gold.
bjjartist 2 years ago
ground control works good in a ring and one on one but in the street ud just be putting your head closer to the concrete for his buddy to stomp
skootyboots 2 years ago
Lol that guy wasn't a boxer, please stop trying to criticize boxing. I have already seen plenty of strikers beat the hell out of "ground game." Enough already.

Royce Gracie vs Patrick Smith (MMA)
Dan Severn vs Travis Fulton (MMA)
Jerry Bohlander vs. Scott Ferrozzo (MMA)

SocialDissimulation 2 years ago
Who? Oops that's right, they only beat bums. Now let's take a list of Chuck Lidell fights..... had enough?
poncekid56 2 years ago
Yeah, only bums lol. Those guys are all boxers/kickboxers. I even have one favorited on my youtube of some guy beating a boxer that I didn't even list.
Chuck Liddell's style is kickboxing, not jiujitsu. Nice try though, lol.
SocialDissimulation 2 years ago
"Chuck Liddell's style is kickboxing" thank you just proved my point, and boxer/kickboxers? lol no, bums. nice try though
poncekid56 2 years ago
Yeah, you'll notice he's the only hall of famer, but he's losing to guys that he used to win against.
Also, he's got a purple belt in jiujitsu. I wonder why. ;)
Nice try though.
Again, he's 1 of 50 who have backgrounds in MMA/Vale Tudo instead of Kickboxing/boxing.
SocialDissimulation 2 years ago
Yeah when you're 39 you should be still be fighting like your 20 huh? LMfao fail. Chuck Liddell doesn't have "Hands," and is nothing in the striking world. Even your beloved Anderson Silva got dropped in his first fight in only the 2nd round in boxing. Wanna know why he went to mma? Cause he can't cut it in the striking world ;)
poncekid56 2 years ago
The only failure here is your rebuttal. How does him being old make him any less of a striker? If striking caps all, why not just punch the guy in the face?
Oh yeah, because more experienced strikers with MMA backgrounds knock him the fuck out lmao.
Anderson Silva went to MMA because you're more of a complete athlete. You'll notice that he won his second fight in boxing, clearly; he can cut it. ;)
Some guys just want more than paddy-cake. Silva is one of them.
SocialDissimulation 2 years ago
FIghting doesn't make you a "More complete athlete." If you want that then look at football. Anderson won his second boxing match against who? Exactly, and he got ktfo by who? Exactly.
poncekid56 2 years ago
Exactly, he left with a KO and lost by a KO. Which only solidifies that anybody can knock anybody out in boxing. It's an uncontrolled environment sometimes, and it's stupid to stand there and get punched 2,000 times in the face until you're like Ali, lol.
SocialDissimulation 2 years ago
Umm that proves nothing... it just proves that he sucks at boxing. He beat and lost to fuckin cab drivers... and Ali has parkinson's disease... that has nothing to do with boxing.
poncekid56 2 years ago
I'm sure that it has nothing to do with the fact that he got struck over one million times in the head. That couldn't possibly be a factor. It proves a lot by the way, it proves that he could hang; but wanted a bigger challenge.
SocialDissimulation 2 years ago
It doesn't... Freddy Roach has parkinsons too... and he barely had a boxing career.... george foreman got hit more in the head than Ali... he doesn't have parkinsons, joe frazier doesn't have it... hmmm.... how does that prove he can hang??? He fucking lost.
poncekid56 2 years ago
Clearly you've taken too many bangs to the head, he ended it with a victory. That's like saying someone isn't a winner unless they're undefeated.
You are going to sit here and tell me that getting smacked in the head in one instance doesn't wake up Parkinsons?
SocialDissimulation 2 years ago
1-1 doesn't sound like a victory to me or anyone else. Parkinsons is a DISEASE you dumb ass..... it affects your WHOLE body, not just your head.
poncekid56 2 years ago
Most people with Parkinson's disease are described as having idiopathic Parkinson's disease (having no specific cause). There are far less common causes of Parkinson's disease including genetic, toxins, (((((((head trauma))))))), cerebral anoxia, and drug-induced Parkinson's disease.
You were saying, dumb ass?
SocialDissimulation 2 years ago
"For example, some scientists think that Muhammad Ali got Parkinson's because he had so many head injuries when he was a boxer. But not all boxers get Parkinson's"
You were saying dumbass?
poncekid56 2 years ago
"It is possible that Muhammad Ali also has a bad gene that made it easier for him to get the disease."
poncekid56 2 years ago
Also possible, but you're trying to sit here like a retard and say that getting punched two billion times in the face doesn't fuck your nervous system up.
I can see why they call you "kid".
SocialDissimulation 2 years ago
Do you not read? It comes from a gene you dumb fuck
poncekid56 2 years ago
"the rate of Parkinson's disease for boxers has not been shown to be any higher than for other professions. He added that football players, despite often suffering multiple concussions, have not been shown to suffer widely from the disease. "
Like you were saying?
poncekid56 2 years ago
"Past episodes of head trauma are reported more frequently by individuals with Parkinson's disease than by others in the population. A recent methodologically strong retrospective study found that those who have experienced a head injury are four times more likely to develop Parkinsons disease than those who have never suffered a head injury."
You were saying?
