I have a $2500 "Thermax" hot water extraction unit (its basically the same thing stanley steemer uses) and while it visibly does a great job cleaning the carpet, it does not remove the odors.
My unit sprays hot water and extracts it the same way stanley steemer does, and it heats its water to 175 degrees with its own built in heater and has amazing suction, but i am just not sure how well this type of cleaning REALLY works.
