  • I LOVE THE PART FROM 1:42 TO 2:08 WHERE THE CAMERA PANS AROUND THE DANCE FLOOR,THOSE SOULTRAIN DANCERS SURE HAD RHYTHM!!!!!

    WISH I WAS THERE!!!

  • I remember when they sang this in Chicago @ The International Amphitheatre In 72 I believe and let me tell you all hell broke lose!!! There was two young ladies sitting next to me one passed the f**k out and the other literally jumped from our first balcony row down to the main floor and made a mad dash along with hundreds of others to the stage!!! Pure pandemonium!!! Aaaah...memories....

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!

I WISH I WAS AROUND IN THOSE DAYS.......THE GOOD OLD DAYS!!!!

  • wow...look at Michael...

  • this is 1971

  • @MJafro this can't be 1971 because randy is playing the bongos and he didnt join until late summer of 1972

  • @TJthepianoplayer I could be wrong

  • Ah haha! Loved the way little Michael broke off at the bridge and started doing his own thing!

  • Jermaine was voted teenage idol of the year, best dressed man and best Afro. He was also thought to have the cutest nose. Funny how MJ got teased about his nose later on.

  • this is a bad jam

  • Thats nice MJ doing his thing in the background for his brother fame destroys families

  • @2lovemarc fame did not destroy this proud black family

  • @2lovemarc

True, after he got big he didn't want to know them, his mother was lucky to get an audience with him.

  • @Nickleby2 yep got full of hiself anf listen to people who didn`t have is best interest at heart jus wanted the loot. lots of people get lost when they walk away from the family base.(so sad)

  • @2lovemarc that`s true. got to be true to self(and that definitely means family)cause that`s where you come from( jermaine is under rated he is a excellent singer and plays lot of instruments. peace am out

  • My Eyes Were On Michael . Hes Too Cute

  • Jermaine did his thing!

  • damn Jermaine was FINE!!!

  • lol...lil mickey singing backing vox....

  • Ronnie Rancifer did a great job on the electric piano on this song.

  • Comment removed

  • awesome... I remember this song!

  • ooohhh jernaine is SEXY!!!

  • Jermaine was suppossed to be the next Marvin Gaye but Berry Gordy was too involved in movies to promote him right. But Jermaine Jackson was still that dude, the one girls wanted to marry and dudes wanted to be lik

  • @MrTremoney718 I agree.....i have always felt that Jermaine Jackson is pretty much the only performer he had that he didnt handle correctly.....ESPECIALLY after he showed loyalty and stayed with Motown

  • Great, great song and a great performance.

Jermaine looks gorgeous. =] ..... and so does his afro. =D

Little Michael looks so cute throwing that leg and swinging his arms. lol

    He had such rhythm!

    Jackie looks sexy. (ha)

Everybody in this family is good looking.

Marlon, Randy, Tito and the women too.

  • Had a big OHHH crush on Jermaine!

He left the J5 too soon. He took some of the pressure of Mike.

  • Check out Michael at 1:42 in the song he breaks camp and add his on steps.

  • it's weird seeing michael as only being a back up singer...

  • @jkool20 VERY weird. 0.o

  • @aGwEENapple yes!

  • @jkool20 well this is the JACKSON 5 not michael jackson, there was at lest 56 songs where he was backup, you might want to comment about JERMAINE

  • @balotelli456 NO. I DON'T WANT TOO.

  • @jkool20 THEN DONT FREAKIN COMMENT ON A JERMAINE JACKSON VIDEO

  • @balotelli456 I WILL IF I WANT TOO.

  • @jkool20 DO WHATEVER THE HELL YOU WANT, I'LL JUST SPAM YOUR ASS

  • Can anyone find this in High Def?

  • Get Down! Very Nice!

  • This is more 1971

  • just heard this song on BET .. SOUL TRAIN IS ON BABY!!! love itt and all the dancing .. soo amazing !!!♥

  • Young people and kids know absolutely nothing about the Jackson 5, do they? I'm glad they are getting to see this. They have no idea that Jermaine was the original lead singer. But, none of them were born when the Jackson 5 were popular so, it's ancient history they're only learning since Michael's death.

  • @IrisMG

Yeah, they were a cold young group. I liked Jermaine but my sister loved him

  • @IrisMG

The jackson 5 were as big as the Beatles worldwide, they were called The Black Beatles. And Jermaine Jackson and Jackie Jackson were the 2 most famous members of the group, not Michael. He was cute, yes, but it was Jermine that girls wanted to be with and boys wanted to be like. When Jermaine married Hazel Gordy it was televised across the world and billed as a royal wedding. Marvin Gaye was so jeallous that he didn't attend the wedding. He thought Jermaine was taking over his spot.

  • @Amore2010ad I'm 49 years old - I was there, dear. You are telling me nothing new.

  • Subscribe to "Soul Train"on you tube! The official website!

  • Soul train has the original film!

    This Jermaine song!

  • so cute during da instrumental lil Michael was jammin

  • Great song-when Jermaine was fine!

  • jermaine song this in concert in 1972 Dec. Mike was hogging the show and Jermaine said "I got do my thang " and broke off into this and the GIRLS went CRAZY.you had to be there to see the J5 was the it.

  • You would marry Jermaine Jackson. You and 9 million other girls.

  • @Unique9773 if u had married him then, u wouldn't be married to him now! jermaine is a womanizer, that's why he and hazel is not still married, he is married to a taliban now!

  • @ranmae57 Your last sentence made me laugh. Good comment.

  • @Unique9773 Yup! And you would have had this fine man and 9 million girls would be hating on you like thay are hatin on Halima, Ms so called Taliban is an Al( I got oil money, honey )Saud. You know Saudi Royal family, Now If I was her, I'd get his kids so that she can stop all this" Baby Mama Drama these haters be spoutin!

  • @peskied

Ha ha; Is this for real?!

  • If it would be possible for me, I would marry him! Lol, he's so amazing. :)

  • @AKSuperGirl he had more girls than michael

  • I love this song.

    The people dancing are funny.

  • how is they funny?

  • I love this song. @ 1:41, Michael was so cool how he broke off from his brothers and started doing his own thing. Jackie and Marlon was looking like "WTF!" LOL, that was so cute!

  • @almondy1963:

I know! I love the way he made that little area of the stage his own and just started jammin'! LOL

  • @wrldtvlr2

I remember seeing that show when it first aired. We had a house full of people and everybody including the adults were are yelling "Go'head Michael!" Lol!

  • @almondy1963:

LOL Good memories! (My family was the same way!) It was so easy to see who the superstar truly was on that stage, wasn't it? =o)

  • @almondy1963 Our family did the same thing as yours, lol!! We were saying "Go on Michael, with yo' bad self!!," Little did we know that he was really going to be BAD with a BAD album,BAD mini-movie, and a HUGE BAD tour!!!

  • @almondy1963 That's Michael, lol!! He has always been in a league of his own; I think that's what made him such a Huge Superstar!!

  • @almondy1963 - I know ,Michael look like he just felt power of SOUL.Soul music is a POWERFUL thing and he was FEELING IT.That or the original steps were just too boring for him.Go watch "'I want you back Jackson 5 Soul Train" and see what Jackie does to him @ 0;10 in that video.

  • @missayawk THERE STEPS, all the brothers did it and they all had soul cause their black

  • im watchin all these j5 videos...and im sorry but its actually good to see lil mickey singn background for once

  • Yes! That's how is was back in the day, even on their celebrated Xmas Album. Different lead singers. During this stage, Jermaine was the man, He was very successful on his own too. Only him Michael and their sister Janet made it big.

  • @JakDaniels Yes, Jermaine is a great singer as well. I guess that michael was the lead singer because people identified more with a cute little boy than a teenager. Michael wouldn't have minded though.

  • @JakDaniels it's not for once

  • I wish a happy birthday to you, Jermaine.

I can listen to your songs whole day.

  • Jermaine is so sexy. I would have loved to run my fingers through his afro.

  • One of my favorite Jermaine jackson tunes!

  • my daddy is jermaine omg ima show him all these comments rip uncle mike we miss u

  • jermaine had the best afro ive ever seen

  • what a beautiful family!!!

jermaine is sexy though right here.

michaels sexiness came later on. ;)

  • michael is too cute!

  • Check out Michael at 1:41. He's grooving so hard, he forgets he's not the lead guy on this song! He falls back into formation with Jackie and Marlon around 1:55. LOL!

  • Totally! Also this is one of Jermaine best recording in my opinion and if mike had a choice i'm sure he would have been down on that dance floor dancing with the lady in the white ruffle pants suit with the long black hair...he can't take his eyes off of her. hehe

  • Gosh another favorite from Jermaine. it looks like for a moment that Michael lost it and dance independently from his brothers, until Jackie gave him the look. Sweet Michael, this was Jermaine moment.

  • @j1008h Go watch "i WANT YOU BACK J5 SOUL TRAIN". Jackie gave him more than a look @0.10 of the video.

  • I think Jermine is the best looking one his face here looks like art, like someone painted it or somthing.Mj is pretty good looking too.

  • Man, I love this song! I have it on my ipod and I watch the performance so I can get the steps right to imitate them. lol Jermaine, to me was always the second best looking (after Michael) and has the most talent (after Michael) and he really is underated. They are all great and very good looking. Now THIS, is music. I think, if Janet can't do it, that Jermaine should keep his brother's legacy alive for the sake of the JACKSON DYNASTY. I love you Michael....

    JACKSONS....FOREVER.

  • Thank you, someone who understands what REAL music is...couldnt say it better myself...on repeat on my ipod as we speak!

  • This was J5 when they ruled the world. Jermaine's performance is unbeliebable. And as powerful as Michael Jackson was, he never upstaged Jermaine. Michael was the epitome of the professional entertainer.

  • I'm only 25 and even though Jermaine's music came out way before my time, I am a big fan of his music. I hope he comes out with new music in the future. I'm tired seeing him go on TV defending Michael and his family. I want to see him up on stage and singing some good songs.

  • I love Jermaine with his sexy self

  • This song might be old,But it is really good

  • @nasheasanders1 jermaine was cute then!

  • Love this song Jermaine. I'm 45 and have been a rabid J5 fan since 69. I think I know why Michael and Jermaine were so successful. It's cause they both sing with feeling well beyond their years and Jermaine had the soulful 'old man' sound to counteract michael's souful 'young man/kid' voice. Hey, listen to Sugar Daddy, Love U Save etc. - that dynamic is clearly evident.

  • its dynamic! its funny as they got older Jermaine's vocal got softer while Mike's were deeper

  • @wrldgornd Don Cornelius did an interview with Jermaine on this episode of Soul Train and at the time people were saying he was the second coming of Marvin Gaye

  • Michael was not the only Jackson with tremendous talent. While I love Michael, I have always believed that one of his biggest mistakes was leaving the Jackson Five. Jermaine Jackson, featured here, was one of the most prodigious talents of the Jackson family. May younger fans find out about the talent of Jermaine LaJuane Jackson as those of us who remember the Jackson Five have always known!!

  • idk about that, jermaine made the biggest mistake in my mind.michael left he became a even bigger legend, but jermaine didnt have many hits after he left them, and i'm a huge fan of his work

  • jermaine was just loyal to Motown.....he had agoos run of hitsfrom 1972 to92.....

  • Jermaine left first and I believed that really messed Michael up after that happened.

  • Yes, Michael was missing his older brother. But let's face it he was newly wed to Hazel and that must have been a very difficult decision for him to make. Besides, now looking at what michael had achieved..who knew way back then what the future had in store for them both and the rest of the world.

  • Michael never left. Jermaine did.

  • @DJPsychoDTM sorry not true. peace am out check the history on that. i was there at that time.

  • @SILICONALI420001 - I was also around at that time (I am 42, and have been collecting records since '73.)

I reiterate. Michael never left The Jacksons. Jermaine did. 1976. He stayed behind with Motown. Everyone else left and went 2 Philadelphia Intl/Epic...and then resigned with Epic in '77. Jermaine rejoined the Jacksons in 1984 after his contract with Arista was done.

    U're welcome.

  • @DJPsychoDTM

Correction! Jermaine reunited with the Jack sons after leaving MOTOWN! He signed with Arista and met:(you guessed it) Whitney Houston and Clive Davis. Meeting Whitney a good thing! Meeting Clive: that made me wish that he had stayed at Motown!

  • @Truthnuff ....that makes sense, because he didn't perform with the band again until '84....
