yeah..its called an evolution of style. you cant expect them to do exactly the same thing for fifteen years..granted there are millions of bands that do, but at least they strive for something more interesting.

I apologize if I came across as one of those guys/girls that expects Incubus to keep churning out SCIENCE albums. As a musician, I'm fully aware of bands maturing & evolving their sound....with the the absence of Dirk, however, the band has leaned too heavily on Brandon's creativity and MOST (some tracks are great) of the music has turned out to be quite mediocre for such a talented band.....there's definitely a noticeable level of complacency now within their music.

i agree that some of the back catalogue isn't quite as punchy as i would like but i don't think they are wholly complacent. and brandon isnt the be all and end all, each one of the guys is multi talented, bens solo stuff is impressive, considering he does the whole thing himself. i wont list each of the guys' attributes, lets just settle it with a 'yay incubus' :)

no offense to die hard dirk fan boys (but i dont really see how you couldnt take any, ha) but as amazing as he was with the bass, he was a douche. he would fuck around with meaningless pedals and sounds for hours while everyone told him to stop. ben is great, listen to 'look alive' and you can hear how amazing he is. and i saw them this summer at DTE, and i thought that 'circles' and 'ACSOG' both sounds amazing.
