  • Yes, the government is controlled wholly by corporate special interests.

  • SUPORT THE ZEITGEIST MOVEMENT

  • This speech is amazing.

  • CORPORATOCRACY = CUNNING TYRANNY

  • This explains why there is so little Ron Paul coverage except for when he is being down played. He cannot be controlled and is therefor an enemy to the corporatocracy.

  • Well this is certainly interesting. If you'd like to learn more about my own theory concerning corporations, "Corporacracy", check you my YouTube Channel.

  • As far as I know-is all about corruption, greed and lack of concern for others. The evil act God condemns. Simple and real. Our nation-the US has become a laughing stock. We have become a buffoon of the world. My prayer hen is to clean the mess when we clean our heart-we care for others, especially the 'least' among us. God is always blesses His people if they obe. America would be blessed when we obey the Lord. Long live the US!

  • Corporations are not even 100 years old. We have no idea the long term damage but so far in this short period their tyranny has been quite legendary and supported no less by the masses.

  • I find it funny how all of these anti capitalists leftists are complaining on the internet. Like any Marxist nation has ever developed ANYTHING of use!

  • @lta6494

You think corporations are just swell then?

And do you know anything about Marxism at all not coming from Glenn Becks mouth?

  • @bohemianwriter1 Typical leftist attitude, if I dont agree with you I am either ignorant or stupid.

I am not a fan of the Beckster (he is a little too precious for me). I am tired of explaining my comprehension of government munipulated economic policy, and it's inevitable string of unintended consequences, to smug overly educated douchebags. So why don't you give me some examples of how great utopian society is in practice?

  • @lta6494

Why prove me wrong when you just proved me right with your first sentence. First of all, you know nothing about marxism. By the way you describe it, it's like coming directly from GBs own Internet "University".

Dumb people often have this cringe, this hatred towards intellectuals. Or people whom are better than them in some sorts. And yes! you're ignorant. The government haven't power over anything. Corporations have the power these days. If you were not ignorant, you'd see that ;-)

  • @bohemianwriter1 "corporations have the power these days"......................let me just let that sink in...............

What does that even mean? Is that anargument for marxism?

"Or people whom are better than them in some sorts....?" I am sorry for disagreeing with you, I did'nt realize you were a douchebag, and retarded.

  • @lta6494

You think sister Sarah appreciate your retard remarks?

So when will yoou show us your infinite wisdom on Marxism, eh? Ever taken a class in political science?

  • @bohemianwriter1 I am not republican dumbass, if you knew what you were lippn off about you would'nt assume I was. Why don't you "enlighten" me with your socialist wisdom. It will make your parents proud that you are finally putting liberal arts degree to use.

  • @lta6494

You ARE a GOP Faqscist. You sound like one, hence you MUST be one! You are a dummie and a republican nitwit by definition whom would suck David Kochs kock if you'd think he'd let you lick up some nickle and dimes.

Because you're education system have failed you. Hence you MUST use the word "socialism" in negative connotations. Why? Because you have no bloody clue what socialism is. Just like your brain damaged redneck countrymen from Kansas whom didn't know what socialism is either.

  • @lta6494

Besides, I don't owe you any answer or any of my "wisdom" since I asked you why notr teach us about Marxism. But we all know you can't. That;'s why you make the normal pathetic attpemtp to twist the question around. Why? Because in your tiny RW brain you know you are an ignorant shitkicking idiot whjom don't know anything that Glenn Becvk and Koch brothers have implanted in that tiny brain of yours. You RW morons make Kelly Bundy look like a genious.

  • @bohemianwriter1 You like being controlled comrade.."When the plan fails, the planners will plan some more!"

  • @lta6494

Because like Anonymous would say and claim: Internet is free. It's the first egalitarian entitey that neiter corporations nor the governments have control over. When corporataions are against net neutraility, it's codeword for "I want to monopolize internet and suck money out of dumbasses". And you obviously think that corporations are fine and dandy. So don't lie about not being a RW moron whom voted GOP teaparty the last election...

  • @bohemianwriter1 Keep going your crazy ass libtard! Don't let me our anyone else tell you that you sound like a dumbass.

  • @lta6494

So you want to the RW agenda to have your propaganda over the internet, and sencoring all dissenting voices? Oh, right! You're the expert on Marx! Though have shown bloody nothing. You remind me of some brain damagaed tea bagging dummie. I am working for one of those corporations. Fact is that I have worked for several of those corporations. HP, MSN, HTC to mention a few, and will soon start working for another one. I know how these bastards work. Do you?

  • @bohemianwriter1 There is a ton of propaganda on the internet, to be sure, and I am believe you would agree that it is across the board. I do not look to the government or anyother "divine" entity to keep me informed, fed, rested, healthy, happy, or anything else. I look to me and my family. If you dislike big business so much, then start your own business. You could call it Karl's Komputers! Business is not designed to give people jobs or benefits, despite recent reports.

  • I fail to see the purpose of his little story at the beginning.

  • We will have to fight

  • I see that Americans are brainwashed the same way as Czechs although the difference of time spent in so called free society is huge. These brainwashed people call immediately everyone who finds some capitalism weakness socialist, communist etc..

  • Keith Olbermann is spot on!

The corporate agenda has opened the wounds of our nation to a bottomless debt. I hope the rest of the world fights off the NWO let alone half of us free-thinking Americans.

  • @hailtothejedi if you are so free-thinking, why do you align yourself with all of Oberman's viewpoints?

  • @nickgbruns

Maybe it's because Olbermann is a voice of sense in the midst of the RW insanity? And exactly where is he supposed to be wrong in this editorial?

  • now I understand why the biggest skyscrapers belong to big companies, not to people as a place for living........big company = monopol = big power. It's comming to my country as well. All world is trying to be the same because of influence of these major corporations. Ask yourself if you are satisfied with that. Time is up to do something.

  • Most corporations want nothing to do with gov't and just want to be left alone. Corporatism is a product of gov't interferance in the private sector, as regulations tend to benefit big business. I found myself laughing throughout this vid. So because corporations can spend money on advertisements, they are going to take over America? Riiiiight. Let's not forget that the system of big business and gov't getting in bed was a system that the progressives of the early 20th century set up.

  • Welcome to the United States of Americorp. We already see towns being named after companies and corporations.

  • Treason. This ruling is Treason.

    HELLO FASCISM!

  • @DoctorBimbles i don't see that changing any time soon :[

  • Haha...As George Carlin once said, "There's a reason it's called the American dream... You have to be asleep to believe it."

  • Were all being fucked by this coporatocracy and most people dont even realise or have some manipulated , illinformed, reactionary idea of what they think is wrong with our societies but the majority just shrug anything that doesnt adhere to their indoctrinated view of the world off and totally disregard it or worst just accept it.

It will take something catastrophic for people to realise the seamingly obvious faults in the way our world works and by then it'll probably be too late.

    downer....

  • Still remarkably astute. Thank you for posting this!

  • If it's money they care so much about, then just take their money away. One solution would be a new global system. The other solution is to fight.

  • John Perkins was right! The book he wrote is no lie, this is reality that we are facing here people!

  • This is the end of representative democracy in the US, and the beginning of the New Dark Ages. Goodbye, America, the dream was sweet while it lasted.

  • "Of the people, by the corporations, and for the corporations."

The new Supreme Court decision will allow a corporation to run false attack ads against anyone they wish. That means they can now EXTORT every politician in the U.S. to do whatever they want for profit.

If you think you're getting screwed by health insurance companies, Wall Street, and credit card companies now -- just wait. All consumer protection will be the first to go.

    We haven't seen anything yet.

  • Because the N.Y. Times or conservative newspapers run an editorial is irrelevant. They DON'T run ATTACK ADS on TV.

Any corporation can now tell legislators they'll be the target of relentless attack ads if they vote AGAINST corporate wishes

Credit card & insurance companies, banks & Wall Street can now dictate to legislators & EXTORT any politician in America. If they object, they're on the HIT LIST. They dont even need to do it, just threaten.

    Corporatocracy USA!!!

    It's scary!

  • Supreme Court has just enslaved almost all of the American citizens!

  • Well, you where allrdy enslaved, now it's just brought into the light more clearly.

  • The genius of 18th century American plutocrats (the founding fathers) is that they build a beautiful facade of democracy. The idiocy of 21st century American plutocrats is that they are destroying that facade.

Maybe this time Americans will have a real revolution instead of a mislabeled colonial secession.

  • @netinfoseek Very nicely put. But if we do have a true revolution we will be severely outnumbered, not only by the government but by the same idiots who say "if you don't love America you can get the hell out", or the brainwashed sheep who sit back idly while their rights are stripped away from them and don't really care because the new season of American Idol is coming on. The thing is, me and most guys I served with are down for the cause and ready to fight. And we are trained to do just that

  • @SullyCutty @SullyCutty Yes and eventually, if you do fight, you and all yourm "comrades" will be labeled as terrorists by the media and all those sheeple will buy every word of it...They don't have the reasoning power to see that everything on the TV isn't real.

  • @SullyCutty I don't know how an internal revolution would be possible in modern times. there is so much technology and expensive equipment possessed by our military.. how could citizens hope to win?

  • What will happen to the Right Wing Media when their advertising money gets yanked because they dare challenge one of the Corporations candidates? The corporate sector will breakdown the last of the anti-trust laws, monopolize and control and own every last piece of this country! The campaign system was corrupt enough before, now its just transparently corrupt.

  • If this ruling doesn't wake people up I don't know what will

    All Hail President Citibank

    All Hail Governor Microsoft

    All Hail Senator Mastercard

    You get the idea

  • For all the bitching about collectivism and socialism from the right you don't here much about multinational corporations. Heres the scoop-Corporations are groups of people working together for collective self-interest-namely profits

WTF is the difference between that and a labor union?

Corporations are unaccountable private tyrannies where workers and employees (wage slaves) have no rights and no voice/ Labor Unions are the only thing that stand in their way of complete hegemony

  • A bright day is upon us. The Supreme Court has expanded democracy by allowing

corporations unlimited election purchasing power. Special interest is the new black.

  • Aggressive Social Engineering on the part of Corporations using Conservative Think Tanks to front the lawsuit. True Story. These people are traitors who are participating in reengineering our democracy. Their goal is to control the Republic and its extensive powers.

  • actually both the left and the right are wrong

Both Democrats and Republicans ruled to allow Ben Bernanke A Second Term,

Both Democrats and Republicans bailed out wallstreet banks while flipping a bird to mainstreet.

Both Democrats and Republicans allowed corporations unlimited power to influence elections.

Democrats and Republicans bend over to the REAL people running this country, The Federal Reserve Bank.

Their actions alone are shattering the illusion of the left right paradigm.

  • if this was facebook, i would totally like that comment.

  • @millmill1022 youtube has a "like/unlike" system, and i know you have an account since you posted a comment. this should be posted on everybody's facebook.. spread the word! i found this by accident and i hadn't heard anything about this ruling.

  • Wait, wait, wait... I am born in Québec, I have some friend in Belgium and Switzerland, I am studying history, anthropology, economy and politics in my degree... And you are talking about an effective left wing in USA? Are you fucking kidding me?The only thing working on the left in USA is Nadder!

I mean, O.k, Sarko is a right winger in France but a blue dog in USA. Angela Merkel will be a left wing libertarian.

  • asset forfeiture law - take over all the companies and sell them - they SC 2003 said that we can.

  • Comment removed

  • european corporations are very healthy as well as being taxed and regulated. the europeans do not regard corps as being "persons" as far as i know.

  • Where is the Tea party outrage about this decision? If they are really a party dedicated to individual freedom and personal liberty then there is no more pressing an issue than this. As individuals our voices will no longer be heard, if they even where anymore, bc in America apparently the phrase "money talks" is taking very literally by our highest court.

  • @doctender77 Have you ever voiced this concern over the Union money used to influence elections, its been going on for years with Union memebrs having no say in the way their "special interest" union leaders decide to spend the money. This is simply fair paly.

  • WE MUST REPEAL CORPORATE PERSONHOOD!!

Why bother voting for John Doe Halliburton in 2012?

Visit congressman Alan Grayson's website savedemocracy net

    to sign his protest petition!

there is also a group called Public Citizen (has a YT channel)

    that has an online petition.

  • This 5 to 4 Supreme Ct. Ruling which now allows 'We The Corporate' to invest infinite $ into advertising campaigns for the political candidates of their choice is an abomination. This now allows 'We The Corporate' to smash with Corporate ad campaign$ the chances of any political candidate who might be brave enough to stand up for the interests of We The People, interests which do not mesh with the interests of Globalist Corporations, Corps who are nation-less, soul-less, and who's God is Greed.

  • Check out Max Keiser on similar matters. We're screwed.

  • "THE MONEY POWERS PREY UPON THE NATION in times of peace and CONSPIRE AGAINST IT in times of adversity.

It is MORE DESPOTIC THAN A MONARCHY, more INSOLENT than autocracy, and more SELFISH than bureaucracy.

It denounces as public enemies, ALL WHO QUESTION IT'S METHODS or THROW LIGHT UPON ITS CRIMES. I have two great enemies, the Southern Army in front of me and THE BANKERS in the rear."

  • "Of the two, the one at my rear is my greatest foe.

CORPORATIONS have been enthroned and AN ERA OF CORRUPTION IN HIGH PLACES WILL FOLLOW, and THE MONEY POWERS of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign BY WORKING UPON THE PREJUDICES OF THE PEOPLE until the wealth is aggregated in the hands of a few, and THE REPUBLIC IS DESTROYED."

    - Abraham Lincoln, REPUBLICAN

  • Is it time to start setting stuff on fire? The Executives who financed this case perhaps?

  • Still watching, but Olbermann makes an error in calling the First Amendment "free speech for persons". It does not say that. It says Congress shall make no law "abridging freedom of speech, or of the press" It does not say that Congress shall make no law "abridging freedom of speech, or of the press, except for corporations and unions".

  • The stivky ground being tread is counting a corporation as a person. So does this mean that if a corporation commits a crime ALL stockholders amd owmers should be jailed as well? You can't put a corporation in jail, you can't put it to death. It should not be given the same rights as a person if you cannot place the same checks and balances on it as you would a person.

  • asset forfeiture law - 2003 SC decision - said that they can be siezed even if there are not any drugs found - this is the right or the what can happen to individuals - Look it up - the US government can own it all you don't even have to prove there are drugs...citizen arrest and seizure?????

  • technically, he may have erred, but the argument that corporations have speech rights is clearly NOT what the founders intended.

The document you cherish begins WE THE PEOPLE.

NOWHERE in the constitution are corporations mentioned, or given powers.

  • Good bye USA - hello China II. Won't be long before the Chinese banks which are all owned by the Chinese Government start wanting their tens of billions of dollars back and guess where they are going to spend it. The epitaph upon the United States' tomb shall be: Here Lies Freedom.

  • the epitaph should say: here lies ostentatious, mindless materialism. These schmucks needed libraries, not shopping malls :)

  • Well it has to go both ways. If the supreme court says that Corporations have the same rights as individuals. Then would it be fair to say that Individuals have the same rights as corporations. That means I will not pay taxes on my operating costs only what I profit. And I will take huge credit risks and go bankrupt and get a gov't bailout. Right? Same rights as corporations. Fuck you supreme court.

  • Scary !

  • "In the bottom of all our terrified souls, we all know that democracy is a dying giant, a sick, sick dying, decaying political concept, writhing in its final pain.

You get up on your little 21-inch screen and howl about America and democracy.

    There is no America.

    There is no democracy.

There is only IBM and ITT, and AT&T, and Du Pont, Dow, Union Carbide and Exxon."

  • Those are the nations of the world today."

WE NO LONGER LIVE IN A WORLD OF NATIONS and ideologies, Mr. Beale.

The world is a COLLEGE OF CORPORATIONS... inexorably determined by the... immutable bylaws of business.

The world is a business, Mr. Beale."

  • "What's finished is the idea that this great country is dedicated to the individual in it.

    It's the individual that's finished.

It's the single, solitary human being who's finished.

It's every single one of you out there who's finished.

Because this is no longer a nation of independent individuals.

This is a nation of two hundred-odd million transistorized, deodorized, whiter-than-white, steel-belted bodies,

    totally unnecessary as human beings

and as replaceable as piston rods."

  • So there's only US corporations? What's you solution? Make some suggestions. How would you fix things if you were in charge? Were you born that stupid or did you have to train for it?

  • Rejoice! America is done! Time to start building something better. Smash the state!

  • more proof of this...everyone remember auto bailout...it was supposed to keep people working...last i heard they were still laying people off and the execs get bonuses...this is wrong in itself b/c of the deception BUT even more wrong b/c that money was from TAXPAYERS...u can't give public funds to corporations, i mean isnt there a law or something...

  • "Of the people, by the corporations, and for the corporations."

This is not a matter of free speech. Corporations are not people. They are artificial legal entities. They have bottomless pockets and will be able to extort every single politician in America for profit.

If you think Washington is owned by the Banks and Wall Street now, just wait. We haven't seen anything yet. First to go will be all consumer protections.

If not changed, this will be the ultimate end of American democracy.

  • @goog2k You mirror my thoughts totally! Corporations are not people in my dictionaries?! WTF FREE SPEECH tell a judge off and see lol.

  • maybe the worst news I´ve ever found out about via the internet.

  • @kolesar40 No the crazies are actually those that base their decisions on appearances rather than substance, merit or facts.

  • qwerty: A different kind of crazy, but I agree...and we obviously watched this happen in Campaign 2008. People were wowed by theatrical speeches but had no idea what the speech was about. Networks fell in love with a story and the next thing we know an unqualified ideologue gets elected president. (A weak opponent helped as well.)

  • Common sense surely isn't common.I prefer to use skepticism, critical thinking and logic.Always hearing both sides of the "Story?" And believe almost nothing I hear or read and little of what I see.Especially in the media or MISinformationnet.I'm always looking for hidden agendas and the backers of any information.Perhaps is only propaghanda. Why was John Edwards "Love Child" the top story and not this? IMO corporations already run this country not the people dumbed down by American Idol & news?

  • unqualified idelogue? I thought Palin lost ;)

  • also did u know obama gave INTERPOL control over the usa and immunity from any kinda of opposition. this is gettin close to martial law. will any of his campaign promises be met? oh yea i forgot people were dying to have a black president they forgot to do their homework and find out what he was really about. STOP getting ur news from CNN and mainstream media. and THINK!!! the USA is not a country but a collection of bankers and corporations who run it.

  • There is a Facebook Group for this..."Take our Nation Back...Eliminate Corporate Personhood"...join, become active, stop this while we can.

  • We should abolish the two party system!!!

Repub, Dem, it does not matter, the corporations own them both. This is not a typical left/right thing. The only good I see in this passing is that now we can see exactly who is giving to who, they don't have to do it in secret anymore. If you think that this "changes" anything big about corporations getting politicians elected--you are delusional. Has Obama stood up for you, or the corporations so far? I think the answer is clear.

  • Seems like this is something teabaggers, libertarians, and liberals should all be able to unite against.

  • @SaveRepubIic ..I am a progressive independent but I totally agree with you. This must be stopped!

  • the beginning of the end

  • When votes of only five (5) non-elected single

individuals can sell out Americas voting rights to

foreign owned corporations who will most certainly

sway uninformed future voters with big money . . . .

. . . . it may be time for America to re-think about

which decisions should be made by public ballot.

as for corporate speech rights... ask an

average corporate worker who labors at or just over

minimum wage if their voice is heard as their

CEO takes home multi millions $ each year.

  • this is an amzing video...i thik this is how obama got elected. through corporate funded spending he had so many commercials with celebrities and such

  • DJSIM The Prez had an unprecendent amount of donations ONLINE , like no one else had until 2008. Evidently some corp donated as well but do your home work and check...

  • haha really now???think!!! how much could people actually donate in relation to these corporations. the public's "wealth" is nothing compared to big business. these corps have international interests with them. before u defend obama do ur homework. he said he would send the troops home yet he keeps sending them to iraq. there is no end in sight there. hes not even black yet hes a "black president." he is half white and born a muslim. WHO IS OBAMA WHERE DID HE COME FROM? and now hes president!!!

  • last I checked hi mother was very much Christian but as for your reply here apparently you are a birther - which makes any sort of logical argument impossible. I don't like wasting my time with imbeciles - BTW I don't watch CNN but BBC and other Europeans venues as well as MSNBC. Don't waste your time. Stop embarassing yourself.Narrow minded indeed

  • then dont waste ur time...

i like how u reply to FACTS with name calling...

its a defense mechanism, one of the more base kinds but it is what it is. FINE classicallady do not waste ur time. but know that i have no ill will toward u. and the fact that u put urself out there for a man u barely know (only through media) is alarming. peace to u peace to the world and i hope we all make it through this time of change. hope it is all for the better.

  • This is proof that all corporations must be abolished. If someone wants to run a business, they should accept responsibility for their actions rather than hiding behind limited liability.

We need this in the constitution. Long have corporations sought to usurp the natural Rights of Man with their own Artificial personhood.

Jefferson wanted to abolish these 'monopolies in commerce' in the Bill of Rights, but it wasn't in the cards. That's up to us.

  • lol ok im not right wing at all but aboloshing corporations? thats idiotic. But then again it worked out so great for the soviet union

  • this comment was SPOT ON!!! olbermann is a GREAT american, pointing out the fascist antecedants of today's decision, and the potential for the ruination of this nation via the corporate purse strings of fascism....

  • Buy-n-Large, it's your superstore!

We've got all you need, and so much more!

    Happiness is what we sell!

    That's why everyone loves BnL!

  • @notyourfriendbuddy

But then how could we get the luxury of too big to fail?

  • @notyourfriendbuddy Man, dont you get it, its not government anymore, its corporations, those taxdollars, will go to war if HalliBurton and Blackwater contributes enough money, to a politician who later becomes president. those taxdollars will go to banks if Goldman Sachs gets a president in white house. So its not about Government anymore
  • The govt didn't pick winners and losers- goldman sachs did. Paulson was a former ceo of goldman sachs.

  • This wouldn't mean a thing if people didn't let compaign ads tell them how to vote. Remember that.

  • The vast majority of Americans don't have enough education or awareness to know who to vote for on their own. In this culture of American Idol and reality TV, people don't have a clue of who their congressmen and Senators are. Their lives are regulated pretty much by what they see and hear on TV from a bunch of overpaid, equally uneducated celebrities. I think you're asking for much.

  • 110% correct People can't even spell with Spell Check?! And many believe the Sun revolves around the EARTH!

  • @armyveteran101st Good thing their votes don't count then.

  • @mryellow123 On the contrary! That's why they are dangerous, because their votes absolutely count and end up deciding elections, and therefore deciding our future as a country. There is nothing more dangerous than an uninformed voter. Regardless of what you may believe, your vote counts.

  • @armyveteran101st Electoral college and rigged counting machines get there first.

Your system of democrazy is completely broken beyond repair.

They've got it to such a science that elections so rigged they'd sanction 3rd world countries for the audacity. In the US it's completely normalised.

  • @mryellow123 Well, that's your opinion, which you have every right to. I completely disagree with it, of course. I've studied my country's political system enough to realize that you really have no clue of what you're talking about, but you have every right to express yourself. More power to you!

  • @armyveteran101st Nice passive aggression mixed with just a hint of narcissism. I'm glad your so awesome.

So.... Are you saying that the citizens of the US have control over their leadership? That they aren't scammed in the slightest? That the vote with logic and rational rather then bullshit? Humans are not a rational as a collective.

  • @mryellow123 and yes I've been awake working too long now... :-P

  • people wouldn't let campaign ads tell them how to vote if they had critical thinking skills and a cursory education of history. Remember that!

The root of this problem always traces back to a broken education system.

  • @tristramshandy3 And who are the Architecture's of our wonderful education system?

  • the ruling class.

  • @tristramshandy3 really, is that why our schools are full of Libs, ruled by Libs? How about the voting record of the NEA? The countries public education system is a perfect example of where Liberal ideals turned loose will get you.

  • generalizations. I doubt you've been inside a school for a long time.

Anyways- you asked who the architects of the education system were. I stated they were the ruling class.

    My evidence?

The property tax system of funding which insures that rich neighborhoods have good schools, and poor neighborhoods have shitty schools.

I don't think the "libs" as you offensively call them had anything to do with that. That is the work of the ruling class.

    Have a nice day.

  • It's official: We are a fascist nation...

    this is treason!

  • "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." -- Benito Mussolini

  • If people knew who was behind Citizens United, it would scare the shit out of them - See CATO INSTITUTE.
