I actually replaced the engine. I'm still working the bugs out. Relocated the fuel tank. Had a bad coil. Now the fuel pump seems to have gone out. I don't know whether to use another electric fuel pump or get a mechanical one yet.
I'm trying a 12 gallon sears air compressor tank as a fuel cell. I might like to add another 12 gallon tank and place one on each side of the bed.
I dont care if its brand new and it costs money, just do it.
Then get some pipes on that, should be before you first start, drive it for at least 100 miles never above 3000rpm, then change the oil again, this time with castrol 20W50.
Check you bell housing bolts and if your hardcore, retourque the head bolts in SEQUENCE, per your manual.
that was cheating, I need to hear the starter turn the engine over and see how long it actually took to start, not a true 1st start vid

Use the cheapest oil you can find for the first start, check for leaks, watch your temp and oil pressure, if it ok dont rev it.
Be gentle, let it stall if it wants.
Then set your idle up to 2500 rpm for about 20-30 minutes.
Dont touch the speed unless it starts going above 2500.
Then FIRST THING, change the oil and filter.
