I would recommend getting this for a basic headset... Unlike mine, I have a good quality bass one and because the jacks' plastic covering is so big the mic and audio jack don't go in together.

No, The Iphone headset/microphone uses one plug for the microphone and audio, it has three of the lines in the plug, you need a splitter for those. They're quite hard to find but really cheap!

instead of buying that converter you can buy a headset that wont break if you drop it like the turtlebeach headset i dropped it from five feet and it did not break i know turtlebeach headsets are alot of money but it is worth it cause if you drop it it wont break and it will help you in fps games because you can hear people behind you.

Yes, that will work but unless the TV has a good amp built imside, the sound will be very quiet. Best thing would be to by a dedicated amp.

The thing I don't understand about this product is you can't get game audio through your headset. So if you're using good headphones that have a mic, then they'll probably be covering both your ears and be noise reducing.  How do you hear the game's audio? Hearing the game is more important than being able to hear people's voices because you could just have chat going out through the tv speakers. I'd really only use this for the mic, and I think that's only what most people use it for.

No, the controller only sends the signals from the voice part of the xbox.

It doesn't process the tv sound. So no, sorry.

I'm sure if you connect the mic cable from the headset to the controller, and the other cable to an amp (which your xbox is connected to round the back) then you will get game sound through the headset as well.
