first off, uribe's only played so little because he got injured and Alexei Ramirez came out of nowhere to be just as good defensively as uribe and be better offensively. and the sox arent the best team in the worst division...theyre the best team in the most underachieving division. the twins and tigers are better than most national league teams. the indians have been insanely hampered by injuries after winning the division last year.

As of today (7/1/08) the Cubs are .602 with a record of 50&33. The white sox are .573 with a record of 47&35. That might be embarrassing but certainly not for The Cubs. They ARE the better team.
Last time I checked in the past 50 seasons, the White Sox have been way more successful than the Cubs. 34 winning seasons for the White Sox, only 17 winning seasons for the Cubbies in the past 50 years. Oh yeah, plus the White Sox won IT ALL in 2005 and finally brought a baseball trophy to Chicago.

God, I KNEW there was a reason I moved out of that city. I loved old Comiskey for that very reason: I lived by Wrigley and instead always took the Howard/95th El to Comiskey to see real blue-collar baseball. Don't get your hopes up. The best thing to do, as a baseball fan, is to sit back and enjoy the ride. I know I'm enjoying the Sox' season so far. They might make the playoffs, they might not. All that matters is they exceeded the expectations of everyone this year. If you expect too much from the cubs this year, you're only setting yourself up for disappointment. this year is no different. yes the cubs are winning...but they were expected to win like they are. the sox weren't expected to contend because of the lack of quality starting pitching and inexperience in the bullpen. and look where they're at now? sitting in first place and getting no recognition as far as allstar voting, though most of the sox players are having better years than people in the top allstar spots so far. just rediculous. Chicago is a cubs city like new york is a Yankees city.

Why do sox fans take their lack of All-star votes out on Cubs fans?
As of right now, only two or three AL position players are not Yankees or Red Sox. That would piss me off if I were a Sox fan. Hell, it even pisses me off as a Cubs fan! The Cubs will only have Soriano, Soto, and Fukudome, and probably Zambrano. You're justified to be upset that Quentin isn't even on the ballot, but its not like the Cubs and Sox are competing for the same team, they're on separate ballots.

Last time I checked in the past 50 seasons, the White Sox have been way more successful than the Cubs. 34 winning seasons for the White Sox, only 17 winning seasons for the Cubbies in the past 50 years. Oh yeah, plus the White Sox won IT ALL in 2005 and finally brought a baseball trophy to Chicago.

I have season tickets at Wrigley for 9 years. The only time that I have ever had anyone give me a hard time was when I asked a Sox fan (who was yelling "F***ing Cubs S***!") to not smoke in the mens room. He grabbed my shirt and said "I'll kick your a** motherf***er"
This was in front of my 7 yr old son. To which my son asked "Why do Sox fans act that way?"
Not all Sox fans are a-holes. But it sure seems like a lot are.
