  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaa it's so cute i'm gonna die!!! :d

  • Love ur vids. Whats the difference between parrotlets n fischer lovebirds?

  • @beninatiboi Females can be trained to talk but the males are more vocal naturally. But best not to expect any bird to talk. Unless u hv an African grey...most likely will talk but they live a loooong time

  • do females talk? my girl is 3 months old

  • Just had to subscribe!! :D

  • @gampanat thanks!

  • @gampanat it's hard not to!

  • he talks but its like a mixture of talking and whistling. cute birdie xD

  • Finally got a video of my pocket parrot Zazoo talking! check it out!!

  • koolaid has a creepy voice...but it looks SO CUTE!!! :D

  • Koolaid is just adorable!

  • 150.. Thats not bad, thank you

  • I have to say this bird is so adorable! I watch your videos all the time just to hear his little voice. I have an Eclectus but was thinking of also getting a Parrotlet... LOVE KOOLAID!

  • @dawdish thank you:) Oh i wish i could have an eclectus! They are smart!

  • How much do parrolets cost? Koolied is so cute.. I want one now.

  • @elizamex parrotlets are about $150-200 depending on mutation/colour - in Canada.

  • HEY! omg Koolaid is soo cute! how can you get parrotlets to talk? I have a Mexican female, Can females talk?

  • @HopeLilly16 females can talk too...I think males sometimes talk more because they are must more vocal in the wild/in general.

  • is the green one always the male???

  • @haiggirlsschool no, the blue under the wings and on the rump make it male. for parrotlets.

  • I had a parrot for 9 years. it was like koolaid but red beak :) ı missed him so much.. when I watch your videos I enjoy so much..especially bowie.. :)

  • @yarenbirce thank you for watching my videos:) sorry to hear about your parrot:(

  • Koolaid talks so well like Bowie is he his baby?

  • @Memories2Dreams nope, koolaid is a parrotlet; bowie is an indian ringneck -different speicies:)

  • I'm getting a Parrotlet soon and I'm so excited!

How much was that cage? I want to get one just like it.

  • @SelenaMcDowell omg i want one where u get young uns?????

  • @SelenaMcDowell cage was on sale at 179$...i forget the brand name but i know some places could charge 300$ for a cage like that.

  • awe little baby fluff ball :)

  • HEY I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! they're so enjoyable! my parrot recently died this month. but anyways i love Koolaid hehe.

  • @unspeakablelovestory ohh i'm sorry to hear about your parrot:( thanks for your nice comments:)

  • How long did it take for him to start talking & how did you work with him to do so I just bought a parrolet yesterday :)

  • @RexPecker koolaid is an unusual talker, he started talking at 8 weeks. he doesn't talk as much now that he has a mate. but still talks to himself once in awhile. you just repeat words/phrases with a lot of up/down tone...so they think it's a song. they like that kind of 'music' ;)

  • That is so cute! Didn't know parrotletts could talk.

  • sounds like a squeakie toy at 1:05 lolalal

  • I wrote on here about 6 months ago about my parrotlet Zazoo and how i couldnt get him to talk... well guess what? He IS talking!! he is just really shy!!! when he thinks nobody is listening he'll just talk talk talk talk TALK!!! i couldnt believe it!! So far I've picked up on "pretty bird" and "tickle tickle". ill be sure to post when i have caught on camera!! :))

  • @pixidust06 that's great news! see sometimes they just dont' stop talking. now i bet you want silence lol :)

  • Was he hand-reared? :)

  • @xXOneHotLennonXx yes he was - i got him at 7 weeks.

  • @jxh0703 Aww :) I kinda guessed so actually lol My parrotlet wasn't hand-reared and I spent months training him for 15 minutes every couple of days...it worked but he just didn't like being touched...he would sit on our finger and shoulder and everything but he'd never wanted us stroke him, he'd duck if we raised our finger slightly so we never went any further...absolutely adore and miss him though..he was my little companian

  • My Parrotlet Guus learnt his first words from Koolaid :) I love to watch youre videos and he is taking over the words. Search for 'Guus forpus eerste woordjes' In this little video he says tikkle, tikkle just like Koolaid. The other words you wont understand because its Dutch but have a look if you like!

He also says 'how are you' and 'silly bird' but I couldnt record that. Thanks for teaching my parrotlet how to talk Koolaid! LOL :D

Now he is also repeating us in stead of only Koolaid...

  • @JoseKlop oh wow! thank you for watching koolaid's videos! I'm glad he learned to talk & now is repeating you instead :) i watched the video, he's so cute & calm talking on your finger.

  • its so cute !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He is looking so hard for that ball hahah

  • Awww Koolaid is such a smart bird!! lovely little boy

  • What a cutie. I honestly didn't think parrotlets could talk. Boy was I wrong, he is quite the talker! What a great bird you have.

  • @79nicholeyoung thank you!.

I thought the same thing before I bought Koolaid - never thought he'd talk that much - he is an unusually vocal bird :)

  • how do you get your parrotlet to talk?

i have one that probably around a 3 months old,and she wont talk...

I've been trying to teach her, but nothing is working.

and this is actually the cutest video i've seen in a while. ;)

    goooood job!

  • @kaanikaa15 thank you very much! some parrotlets don't talk; males are more likely to talk cuz they're usually more vocal. It helps if they're already chatty & you repeat phrases to them that has a lot of intonation & consanant sounds like "kiss kiss" "peekaboo". sort of like a pattern..

  • @jxh0703 oh, that sucks then.

    hopefully she'll learn to soon.

  • aww he just yawned!! haha hey do they fly? Fly as in...fly away. I'm thinking of adopting one but I don't want it to fly away when I take it out of its cage...or when the window's open. Or take him outside

  • @pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR yes they can fly far - but if you have their wings clipped a bit they can't fly too too far - depending on how much you clip. Parrotlets though, can learn to fly evn with clipped wings - like, say 15 feet across the room, not up. I always keep them away from open doors or windows - or have screens & keep the window open a crack.

  • Awwwe....my parrotlet Buzz would love your Koolaid! He says "You're a funny bird" too and "Whoops" They seem to pick up anything you say and sounds around the house. Buzz is always coming up with something new often!

  • @scootrgrl oh they could talk to each other all day then, i think koolaid talks to his wife smokey but she never talks back. she's so good to him lol

  • Tickle tickle is probably one of the cutest things I've ever seen with a bird >.<

I loved how excited he was when you said "Ball" He's just like my dog <3

  • @Butterflysin thank you! yes tickletickle sounds cute when any bird says it, guaranteed. oh u noticed how he looks around when he hears the word 'ball' lol.

  • Hey can u tell me how u taught ur parrotlets I want mine to speack

  • @PenguinNinja45 I just talk to them a lot!

  • @PenguinNinja45 Well all you gotta do is repeat the words (ALOT of times) you want it to learn and eventually it'll learn...

  • Is this a male or female? Beautiful!

  • @ysuzywil Thanks! it's a male.

  • i have been trying to teach my parrotlet Zazoo "tickle tickle" for a long time... hes about 3 now i think. he makes clicking noises, tweets, and has learned a catchy whistle... but i cant get him to repeat words or phrases... maybe because parrotlets are softspoken im not hearing him clearly enough? im not sure, but yours says it very clear!!

    any words of advice?

    thanks!

  • @pixidust06 thanks :) well, some just dont' talk at all...my smokey never talks really. I know parrotlets like the intonation of some words, clear melody & words like simple words "kiss kiss" & peekaboo. Zazoo is a cute name :) he may be talking if he already copies noises? well, just listen close & repeat repeat, or give treats when he makes those noises!

  • @jxh0703 thanks for the advice!

i have been working with him alot more and hes making alot more noises (especially when he thinks nobody is listening)

what do you recommend for treats?

Zazoo is a terribly picky eater! lol

  • @pixidust06 lol my parrotlet is named Zazu too :) different spelling, but w/e

  • im considering a lineolated parakeet or a parrotlet...PLZ tell me which one and why i need ur help

  • @ashleypennyful I'm not too familiar with lineolated parakeets sorry...I think parrotlets are a little more demanding though, in the fact they can have boisterous personalities, more territorial, bite harder, but very very smart. They are equivalent to the large amazons in personality & behaviour. Every type of parrot deserves the same amt of attention, so you should pick one that you think you'd spend the most time with :)

  • omg he is such sweety! unfortunately my parents are not allowing me to get a bird but I will always love your precious parrots. smokey is beautiful and bowie is quite the comedian! i have not really heard much from hazel though.

  • best part 1:05

i wish mine would do the same

  • @roodeyx no you don't lol....koolaid can be very vocal and demanding with his 'voice', it is what you sometimes 'have to' deal with when u have a talking bird. Very entertaining and cute, but I also enjoy the quiet birds like my white parrotlet smokey.

  • @jxh0703 i see. I live in an apartment so its not gonna be much fun.

He screams a lot now. as well as chirping.

Maybe i dont have a quite bird after all. T.T

Is your Koolaid aggressive towards other pets??

I think mine is hates my sister's budgie

  • @roodeyx i live in an apartment too but I try & keep them under control :p

he isn't so aggressive but mostly scared & wanting attention. Parrotlets are so territorial so it also makes sense they act the way they do.

yeah some birds just don't like each other for whatever reason. Just like humans I guess lol

  • @jxh0703

how big is koolaids cage? like the dimensions in inches

  • @fuducker2

    22" x 18" x 30.5"h (Top Down)

    22" x 18" x 36"h (Top Open)

    Overall Height

    56"(Top Down)/61"(Top Open)

    Stand 22" x 18" x 28"h

  • i just got by baby, Cielo, a couple of weeks ago. i estimate that he's about 8 weeks old now. may i ask when Koolaid started talking? and do you have any training tips? :)

how cute! Cielo is chirping along to Koolaid!

  • @rabbler0user what a cool name, Cielo!

Koolaid started talking about 2 months old. He's 2yrs and a bit now. There's alot of tips on the "peekaboo" video of him - check the other Koolaid vids. But I think it's impt to have a good relationship with ur bird, talk lots to them, emphasize words u want them to learn, give them enough stimulation - diff foods, toys, attention, let them out to play everyday...and it helps if they're personality is active and vocal...

  • hes so cute i wish i had a parrotlet

  • I love his nice, big cage!

  • @captmicha thanks...he shares it...sometimes not very nicely..with a male white parrotlet :p

  • @jxh0703 My lovebirds are the same way. They each have to have their own cage. So, they each have a 5 foot cage. Lol.

  • @captmicha oh how nice!

  • I am impressed with his vocabulary.

I have a male and female parrotlet.

The male Peryy says pretty pretty bird and cookie.

He also whistles like my best friend who had him for awhile and rarely mimics a burp.

    He is such a joy.

After they pass away I would consider getting another parrotlet.

  • @WillsPills56 thank u! Koolaid is especially vocal. I'd like a blue parrotlet but I already have too many birds! What colors are yours? Haha your pery mimics the burp lol.

  • Your parrotlet is the absolute cutest, sweetest, smartest little thing! I just got my parrotlet a few days ago and I hope in a year from now I hope Zazu is just as advanced as Koolaid! Zazu seems to be still getting used to my fiance and I and still shies away from us when we open the cage. Do you remember how long it took for your bird to really warm up to you? I'm hoping from some encouraging words! Thanks for posting these videos! - Mandi

  • @MandiMayhem99 Aww, thank u very much :) all my birds have been handraised so it was easier to train & handle them when I got them fully weaned. however it takes work to keep them tame afterwards. As long as u don't have too many birds, I think you'll be able to train Zazu (cool name). Just take ur time training - bird r senstive right..move slow, talk clear, easy words. Try being near the cage until Z gets comfy with u being near, then move ur hand closer etc.

  • @MandiMayhem99 There's also a lot of info on the internet & with books, I read lots of stuff cuz i really wanted to know how birds think. it makes it easier to deal with their quirky behaviours :)

  • Comment removed

  • Wow he spoke so clearly in this vid eh!

  • it's cuz he was at home alone all day & wanted to come out of the cage...he was still the lone bird back then!!

  • Thank you..I dont think i'll ever be doing the step up thing with her, because she is not hand tamed, you can only do that with hand tamed birds..

She is prooving to be a great little bird nontheless..

I just hope that she will say a couple of words later..

  • She is very young, I know about the blue feathers under the wings, but it's hard to see under it's wings, I have a feeling it's a girl, coz her head is all the same colour, all blue..

She is not hand tamed, so, I am spending a lot of time with her, hoping to tame her a bit..

Are girls likely to talk at all?

  • I think all birds are capable of talking, espeically if you start talking to them early and repeat words with the same melody/ tone - better if you say with excitement! the "step-up" command to your finger is learned quick, you just gotta move slow with birds, they don't like sudden movements, especially with fingers.

Remember they learn by association and repetition. be patient :)

  • mine won't say anything, its a female and males are known to talk more :( it knows how to make the kissing noise though. But is that actually kissing or is it just a sneeze or something:S

  • Hello, I just got my first Parrotlet today, don't know yet if a boy or girl, it's a very nice blue Parrotlet.

  • wow, that's nice, how old is he/she? if you don't already know, the boys have the cobalt blue under the wings.

  • Ok, thank you. I don't think the one i'm going to get is hand reard, hand reard parrotlets are not at all easy to find..

I love your videos by the way..

  • Thanks! He's an unusually chatty one. You should try and get a handfed one, or at least one that is still a baby so it's easy to train/tame.

  • Hello, can you tell me, is this bird hand reard,? as he seems to be very tame.

  • Yes, he was hand-fed and weaned at 6 weeks old. He is one year old this month :)
