  • @walkabout09 or we could not vote and just roll up a big doobie.

  • lol peter costello midnight oil dance. Hey pete weres the rent!

  • You say the use of the internet is very important during pre election, just as important as stoping whaling during pre election?

On May 26th 2007 The Austalia Labor party realesed they would take japan to the international courts and would send the navy down to forcfully stop the illegal whaling ship if they were voted in.

Garret has failed on this, he has failed australia. His just a puppet to them and giving them the green light to whale.

  • He has to use google to find his own website.

  • Peter Garrett sucks at making videos. It's hard to trust a guy with such a creepy face! Let's just hope he's an okay politician.

    Good luck, ALP

  • Fuck off Garret your a fucking joker

  • i wanna be the boss ,the biggest boss that ever bossed the world around.

  • An excellent, jockular comment!

  • I love his face when he's looking at the computer, it's like he doesn't understand it.

  • I suggest you delete any abusive comments you may receive if any. I do when people make stupid comments to videos I upload. Freedom of speech means they can upload their own video, it doesn't entitle people to use abusive language on your page. I saw the comments on John Howards youtube video and they were quite disgusting even to a labor voter.

  • Since being a fan of your previous views and ideals on the political australian and international climates in the past i am confused as to why you are not displaying the same beliefs and conviction in the public eye as you have previously shown years gone by. Just be true to yourself Mr Garrett, but most of all dont let yourself down, otherwise a fine recruit ALP.

P.S Free Dancing is still an option.

  • This was a short, casual, and jockular video.

  • In todays news, corruption in the highest levels of politics, voting for federal government scandles, the miss use of public money, and they want "US" to vote for their "INCOMPETENCE?" Labor gets on libs backs of miss use of public money, labor dont explain rudds lagit excuse of a house that has wings, and tony abbott gets his own back by admitting libs IR laws just dont cut it. next week, a new inexperienced corrupted gov takin the place of the experience at corruption gov the old libs

  • You talk like this election is life or death... if you paid attention you will find there are REAL issues that are more important then just life or death for an election, infact HAARP (the High Frequency Active Arural Research Program) can infact put peoples lives at risk when it is used and your WORRIED ABOUT A LIFE AND DEATH ELECTION?????? Come back to reality mate. there is more to life that helping con artists and gangsters, Re Australias political PARTIES

  • We want to see you dance, Peter.

  • but he can't

  • Peter, I hope this has all been a bad dream and when in office you do "change everything" because right now the ALP is looking "Liberal Lite". Now that probably suits some people, but what's the point of having a democracy if there's no genuine alternative ?

  • that's what the senate's for

I would much rather have a labour government balanced out by greens, democrats, independents, even token liberals than the current rubber stamp setup full of a#$holes

there's no alt if you only look at the 2 public faces, but there's far less alt with only Libs in Upper and Lwr house

  • Anyone know where the open public forum is? Where's the back and forth between the public and the election candidates? Do we have to go through our local members and be drowned out by their preferance for the most popular issues regardless of importance, solvability or gravity. Do we send an e-mail? Or does it come down to polling day. If no one listens what's the point? I think I'd rather not vote and pay the fine since I have no other way of demonstrating a mutual lack of interest.

  • he really shouldn't be a politician, let alone in the labour party.

oh and i don't like midnight oil :)

  • sep. org. au/articles07/garr-051107. ht ml

let's use the web to find out about what you really think about Australias role.

  • Peter, you should have been an independant. You'll probably end up there I reckon.

  • "The Great South Land can be as great as the one it could have been. The one it should have been"

  • peter garret = SELLOUT.

  • wooahh! speaking really fast at the start.

  • At 47 seconds it looks like he spelt his name wrong in Google...

  • true, but there's no doubting that the great man has mellowed out since joining politics..

time to bring back the radical garret!

  • hey peter u rock dude

but you've sold out on your views.

how can u support the gunns mill????

  • because the rest of his party supports it, he has to reflect his party's decision, if he does not he will be seen as going rogue and the labor party will be seen as a mob who disagrees within itself. I bet he argued for a very long time against it but without success.

  • keep up the good work peter make a diffrance

  • You use to be cool man

  • Onya Pete

I look forward to rudd win at this election! And I'm sure you will make a great minister for the arts and environment.

Cheers man "keep up the good work!" :)

    Chris

  • Peter,

People are quick to judge you on your, not so new role in Australian politics, and at first thoughts of sell out rang loudly in my mind. But a person who has committed a good deal of his life to preservation of the environment and the rights of others, I have to wonder, what is up your sleeve?

Whatever it maybe, stay in there China! As a non-labor voter, I still believe that you are trying to make a difference, and I commend you for it...

    Best of success,

    Chewi

  • Peter, you had more influence when you were in Midnight oil ... before you sold out that is. Come back as an independent mate, then you can say what you really think

  • Oh Peter,

So Green on the outside, yet so RED on the inside.

When can we take you seriously about the environment? Until you get in govt and like the rest of Labor start telling people what to do... damn socialism...our freedom could be OVER!!

  • Freedom? Is that what you think you have with Howard. A man who took us to a war we didn't need to be involved in, nor wanted to be a part of - when a million of us protested in Sydney, he called us a mob! When during the debate, due to to his contempt for the worm, the live feed was pulled to channel 9. Freedoms in the workplace?! Workchoices?! How about our *Freedom* of Information Laws?! Open your eyes fool - we have a dictator as PM!!

  • Well Thruglow - your the fool! get your facts right, it was the press club that pulled the live feed, not the PM. At that was widley advertised, so you must be very shallow in your idea of the world. We are lucky that we live in this country, and we are lucky that we have had a bloody good goverment that has ensured our prosperity. Let me guess, you one of the ones that refuse to vote?? I wouldnt be suprised. But anyway my point is, before you start calling people a fool, GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT!!

  • The fact is - there was only *one* person who had a problem with the worm - Howard. Right? I'm not making this up - he is on the record as saying so. Hence if John Howard was the *only* person who had a problem with the worm, and he also happens to be the PM, doesn't it stand to reason that he was also, indirectly, behind the decision by the Press Club to pull the feed? What other possible motivation to pull the feed could there have been? What, or who motivated the Press Club to pull the feed?

  • Well 'thruglow', may be you are in the dark so you need something to glow. Your detective assumptions are great. The worm deceives the TV audience. If had noted whenever Rudd started talking the 'worm' went up..even before he completed his first word in a sentence. Can you detective check that out for me?... please

  • Sen244 - I'm sure that you're probably big enough and ugly enough to check that one out for yourself.

  • How can anyone be expected to take you seriously?

  • Yeah pete is Holding back but I still Believe in you

  • Dear Peter,

So the Web lets you say what you think. But have you been listening to what we think?

Tell us: what have you heard? What do you think the Australian people want: more nuclear-bomb fuel sold to the highest bidder?

Yes, the Libs are asleep. So are the Labs. The Australian election is no longer between right-wing Libs and right-wing Labs. What can you possibly offer in competition with the Greens?

    John H

  • Peter, you're holding it in now so that you get elected, but once you're there you need to unleash yourself and stand up, loud and proud, for what you know is right.

You can make a huge difference. Use your powers boldly!

  • When you first came Envrironment minister I had great hopes you would be a minister for the environment. Now I just see a person who has sold out and lacks the courage that the we remember the Peter Garrett of old. Sorry I wont accept the "we have to have cabinet solidarity" mantra as an excuse.

  • Hey Peter,

I believe your values are solid and for you to get a seat at the table of decision makers you have had to make sacrifices. To many of your long time supporters and admirers it must be a bitter pill to swallow. For myself, I find comfort in the fact that there is a pragmatic man with a green and equitable heart in a position of influence, despite the political public face you must present. I'm glad your there Peter!

  • Excellent stuff. RUDY FOR PM.

  • Thats the US election buddy.

  • Hey Pete,

Why does labor support the logging of old growth forests? Why do they support uranium mining? Why don't they have short-term targets for green house gas emissions?

Are you in the right party?

  • Hey Pete,

have you sold out? I am interested to understand where your views differ from Labour's on the environmental topics. Ie Peter Garrett the environmental activist vs Peter Garrett the Labour politician.

    Cheers

    Adam

  • I like your old stuff better than your new stuff.
