Oh, God...AGAIN..Don't go there ! I HATE those MD-80's !!SO UGLY & noisy & OVERSTRETCHED. have you ever flown on one? VERY uncomfortable. Because the plane is so long & skinny, it really can't handle turbulance at all. Now every time I book ANY flight, I always check to see what type of aircraft. I will NEVER fly on another MD-80!

I'm not trying to be critical of the livery: I just feel that it was a cheap way out of designing a FRESH new look. In reality is simply the old Continental livery with the UNITED name slapped on it. Disappointing. Maybe they'll design something NEW in few years that is more ORIGINAL & exciting, incorporating the best of both liveries!

It's because AMERICAN is SO CHEAP: Rather than pay to PAINT their fleet, they POLISH the aluminum & slap the red/white/blue stripes on . To make matters WORSE; For the last 10 or more years, NOW the tail is that HORRIBLE flat light grey which further CHEAPENS the entire thing. They need a FRESH new look, just like the NEW UNITED does!

nice video! But you would stop quicker if you used the Reverses as soon as you touch down. Flare the jet for about 3-4 seconds with Reverse thrust, works like a charm :)
