The strum pattern he is playing is counted as

1 2& 3& 4& (&=and) strum down on the beat (1234) and your up strums are on the off beat so strum would be like this (down,down up,down up,down up...repeat) that is your first four beats and just repeat as you go. good luck

nope...cause the electric guitar is a completely differnet instument that does not play at all like an acoustic!

yes you can, it wont sound the same but it will sound very much alike, pretty cool. you can play any song on electric and acoustic, but some just sound better in one or the other, think about rock bands with acoustic practices or tours, the songs sound cool on either acoustic or electric :D
