i won't lie, i was also brought here by passion pit's sleepyhead but, i must say that i am far more appreciative and taken by this beautiful traditional Gaelic rowing song. Also, Mary O'Hara has a gorgeous and resonating voice. For those of you who don't understand/speak any of the language Oro Mo Bhaidin means something close to My Little Boat.

@mariamqwert It's not genius, hip hop producers have been doing it for decades before Passion Pit came along. The technique of speeding up the sample, cutting and segmenting it and supplementing it with synths is straight out of the Pete Rock and Large Professor playbook.

I'm not hating on Passion Pit, just pointing out that the technique is EXACTLY the same as used in hip hop. If you watch live videos of PP doing this song, they even use an MPC, which is a standard hip hop producer tool.
