  • So this is where Lupe Fiasco sampled his daydream!

  • I was curious about the lyrics of this song. I searched on internet.

This song is awesome. It talks about an erotic dream, the ambiance of the song fits perfectly with the lyrics.

  • @LyfAdeo you didn't get that from the video?

  • lupe fiasko maybe

  • sounds kinda like glory box by portishead. kinda

  • this is a very cool song

  • thas songs sound like a beta band squares

  • well beta square and I Monster were making a version of this at about the same year so beta square decided not to release it

  • None of those versions equal the great original Wallace Collection version

  • love the chorus but hate the man that starts singing that robot type voice

  • good song

  • love the song

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE this song!!!!!! super awesome!!

  • Harrie in tha house!

  • EPIC SONG, then some young commercialistic lackey comes along and tries to hip hop it up. Leave the original stuff and make your own!

  • i agree!!! just let it be!! god the hip hop version is annoying...

  • look, i live for hip hop. my life is all about it. i have nothing against lupe fiasco, but i have to agree with you. i monster did great job. this is fantastic song!

  • Fuzz Face and Twank Boy used this song to remix the song She Said by The Pharcyde, now THAT is a good use of this wonderfull song on a hip hop track... look it up

  • dopest song!! love it. guru also sampled it in hood dreamin

  • This is a GREAT Song! Found out about it from a Snowboarding Video and Glad i Did!

  • great

  • wow this tripping me HARD in just smoked a bowl!!!

  • Crazy Song! But the video kinda killed it!

  • how did the video kill it.. if it's talking about having a dream about a girl sucking his dick

  • lol

  • anyone knows what instrument the bald one is playing? or is it a non existing one :p

  • hahahaha too right that videos awesome

  • Wow; I love this.

  • I am just in love with the sortof blurry moments and the guy being like "da-da-daydream"

but the doll is fucking creepy

  • Lol at how the lupe fiasco sample is like 50 seconds of this song...the lupe song is "daydreamin'"

  • it was actually recorded way before the beta band track.

  • Is it just me or does this sound A LOT like the song "Squares" by "The Beta Band"? Even the lyrics are a lot alike.

  • yeah!

    whatthefuck?

  • yeah its supposed to sound like it, its their interpretation of it pretty much their own cover of it . . .

  • well, they are both re imaging of daydream by Wallace Collection...so yeah...both beta band and Imonster released them in 2001...somehow imonster got the right to release theirs as a single..so beta band had to release another single instead.

  • does this video got something to do with the movie beeing johne malkovich???

  • No, this song came out a few years after that film, though I can see where you'd think there might be a connection.

  • well, exactly.. it came a few years LATER. isn't it possible that the video was inspired on the movie?? thanks anyway

  • are you SURE it doesnt have anything to do with the movie beeing john malvokich???

Even the puppet looks like him...

  • I thinmk the video is a very interesting and original interpretation of the music. Not prentious in the slightest.

Actually I think its a very good video, but it depends on the person really doesnt it?

  • i love the song at school we did a dance for it lol but the video is so stupid no affence x

  • "the video is so stupid, no AFFENCE".... hahahahahahahaha

  • You are an idiot...the phrase is no OFFENCE...i think thats how you spell it :P

  • It depends on whether you're American or British.

  • The difference between American and British is Offense or Offence.

    Nobody spells it Affence.

  • Yes, I know. I was responding to derryquin, who said "the phrase is no OFFENCE...i think thats how you spell it :P " Derry wasn't sure whether it was spelled offence, so I told them it depended on whether you're American or British.

  • O I see, I apologise then

    or Apologize...

  • lmao

    ahahahhahahahahahhhhhaaahhaahha

    ha

    haha

    ha....

  • were you really laughing? Or just being a fag

  • hahahahah

    hahahahhahahahahahhaahhahahhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

    haha.

hard to be a 'fag' when i'm a girl

  • dude that wasnt even funny

  • No! A fence!

  • I Monster + Bjork's voice / vocals would probably blow everyone out of the water.

  • I meant I hate the video but I love the song! Sorry if I offended anyone!

  • I love the song, but it was kinda creepy.

  • wtf is he sayin i need to know lol

like really in his hella voxed ass hell voice lol.

  • you guys wana c creepy???

    watch "who is she?"

by the no other then imonster.

  • Actually, this version wouldn't even exist if it weren't for a little know Belgium band called the Wallace Collection...

  • doesnt change the fact, without this one lupe still wouldnt have his...

  • I feel bad for you, being ill-informed as you are, so let me help.

It's hard for this to be a "step back" when Lupe's Daydream - made about 4 years later -is him rapping over a sample of this song. Feel free to like his more, but it wouldn't exist without I Monster.

  • ._.

There was another version of this Wallace Collection, and then there was a cover, then Im pretty sure it's this then lupe.

I have listened too all 3 (I was informed on the 4th one but don't quote me on it) and seeing as though they still all are just remixes of one another, after listening to this version, I was like "Wow. This song may not be all that glitter and gold."

That's what I mean by step back.

  • I Feel Bad For You, Being Ill Informed As Technically Without The Wallace Collection It Wouldn't Exist, If You Listen To The Lupe Version It Uses The Wallace Collection Version So Yeah, Your Bad... Without The Wallace Collection THIS Wouldn't Exist, But Step Back Means Nowadays, Listening To Them All, This Is DEFINATELY The Weakest Link.

  • nah dont think so

  • I actually think that both sound sweet, but if I had to pick between the two it might be Lupe's because of the lyrics but other than that, the beat is nice and just a great song so,

  • Amazing song ;)

  • Anybody work out the heavily voxed lyrics? The first bit sounds like

    - "?something? ?something? baby, lying on the bathroom floor" - then - "?something ?something? naked then you went in through the bedroom door" .. but cant work out the rest.

  • i dream a dirty dream of you baby

you're crawling on the bathroom floor

you're floating round the room and you're naked

then you fly out of the bedroom door

  • being john malkovich

  • Weirdest video ever....yet...I can't stop listening to it. :)

  • i love this video

  • No you don't.

  • I meant I hate the video but I love the song! Sorry if I offended anyone!

  • amazing

  • Do a search on Daydream or Wallace Collection to find the original 60's video and original song. I Monster did a great re-make of this song. Kinda like Spock from the Star Trek episode Path to Eden, crossed with Dr. Jekyl with Barbie thrown in.

  • What is the instrument that guy is playing? 3:00 guy on the left.. white.. so curious.... tell meh!

  • it's an Omnichord.

  • The Spock-Harp -- check out Star Trek episode: "The Way To Eden"

Has the same kind of groovy vibe.

  • Dig this song.

  • mint as song x)

  • reminds me of cloverfield

  • how?

  • what how?! cloverfield that movie was awesome but they shoulda put this song on the credits

  • well, they sing about flowers and having a beatiful day. it would be ironic if they put it in cloverfield

  • you got a point

  • cloverfield wasn't about flowers and stuff. cloverfield used to be a japanese comic. they just named it that to make it sound mysterious and sad.

  • i know what cloverfield is about. i have seen it several times. i just thought it would be IRONIC if they put it in cloverfield. and they made the comic AFTER they announed the movie. the creater thought of the idea when he went to japan and saw a lot of godzilla stuff.

  • haha... this is weird.

  • i thoguth this song was so much older than '02

  • It was originally by Wallace Collection in the late 60s

  • came out in 2001, 7 years ago

  • that songs out in 2002?

  • Reminds me of Dream On by Aerosmith.

  • the start of this song is the into to rod stewarts in a broken dream

  • I LOVE these classic British trip-hop tracks from the late 90s - great late night chill out music. If you like this, also check out the following:

    Kinobe: 'Slip into something comfortable'

    Groove Armada: 'At the river'

    Portishead: 'Glory Box'

There are also CDs 'Serve Chilled' + 'Chilled Jaz' that feature lots of these and other Euro trip hop tracks...

  • this song is great .the dude is disturbing and a genuis at the same time its just great.... DAY DREAM ------ I FELL A SLEEP BENEATH THE FLOWERS

  • great song it also on the album chilled by the ministry of sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yesssir!!!!!

  • OMG i love this song so much it plays in my head over and over

  • I love this song :)))))

  • the music is from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, the Danse de Cygnes.

  • I Monster includes the producer/collaborator of Add N to X and the sample they used for this song was from the Gunter Kallman choir version of Daydream, who can also be heard on Lupe's version.

  • I love the Lupe Fiasco Sample. haha

What Lupe did with this song is genius.

  • I know!!

  • this song is perfect. the vid reminds me of "being john malkovich". one of the few non-metal songs that i love

  • it creeped me out that they used this on a mother's day commercial lol

considering how it's about having sexual dreams about people

  • that song on the commercial wasnt from this song, it was from lupe fiascos song daydreamin..
