I use 3ds max 8 or 3ds max 9, also known as 3ds max 2008 or 3ds max 2009. After I model in 3ds Max I usually just import the model into Auto Grouper then Quick Conform to do all the in-between steps that normally take hours on end. I'll go over the whole baisc process very soon without using add-ons. Just plain old 3ds max to poser and rigging.
KikiPooded, you can actually rig any character right inside of Poser 5+ in the Setup Room. Outside of that, there's some free programs like Cr2Editor that help (eventually) in the production pipeline. And the bottom line is that ANY program is always sophisticated text editor. Once you learn the basics of editing the character files with text, you won't even have to manually rig anything.
what program did you use to make clothes ?

Do you have an idea of where some one could rig an obj without having to pay an arm, a leg, and an eye?
