When they were eventually kicked out, they took and estimated $900,000,000 dollars with them but the US made the people of Haiti pay it all back instead of persuing the con-men who stole it.

As a result the Haitians build crap buildings, they have minimum infrastructure, hospitals and schools, all of which led to the tragedy we have today.
