get a horse. When I was 3 i got my a pony. She was ment for me and my older sister but my sister mainly rode. I was just interested in watching and playing with her mane. Finally after 3 i rode her I had such good times with snowie. I joined pony club when I was nine and loved it. I went to my first rallie i looked around all I could see was perfect ponies. My mum took a few pics and i looked at them and thought look at me and snowie the odd one out.But I love snowie!
@DOEquestrian There's always hope :D I prayed to God all the time telling him I didn't care what the horse looked like, just as long as it was a horse to call my own. I'm sure you'll get one when the time is right :) Patience is key

Money is a big issue. I have wanted a horse for a long time. I always asked my parents but they said no. Eventually in the summer of 2010, my dad said maybe. I was stoked! I had forgotten about it for a while and about 3 months ago, I asked again. The answer is still maybe. I'm 14 now and we still have money issues because horses are expensive. I did my homework on horses, and I take lessons. I'm still hoping to get a horse sometime when I'm 16, or maybe during college. <3
@bjdog98 That's exactly how I feel! I've been riding for 7 years and I've so far had 2 loan horses that ended badly (horrible owners), and I still have such a love and passion for horses. I've almost given up on ever having a horse due to the fact that I'm probably going to college this year, money issues, and that I have a different career in mind :/ it's just not possible, no matter how much I want it to be.
after i saw this video, i went straight to my mom and asked her head on, Momma, could i maybe get a horse? she said, Well, its not out of the question my face grew a great big smile. she went on, well, its not all about just getting the horse, you also have to pay for the boarding and the food and all that stuff. i nodded. my riding camp is Rosaire's Riding Academy in Sarasota Florida. when i went to the horse camp there, i always went there EXTRA early so i could help feed and water the horses.
@TigersUnleashed the person there is really generous and he probably would lower the price of boarding him/her if I actually took care of her/him everyday! I'm so excited! on monday, i'm gonna see how much riding lessons cost. I'm gonna start riding again! Yay!
Oh, and i've been riding for about 7 years. My parents promised me that I'd be allowed to get a wild american mustang once i'm 18. I'll get to go to Tennessee to pick out my perfect little companion. The wait seems so long, but it'll be worth it! Oh, but i'll have to sell it once i've trained it......that'll be hard.

@louisehuh Thanks. I think out of all the years of riding I've only not worn a helmet maybe 3 times, and they weren't by choice, I just never had one with me at that time. I always wear it for that very reason.
Such a sweet story! I also had to wait till I was 16 to get my horse. I just got him as an early Christmas gift. The journey has been long and bittersweet. But he and I have a unique bond after all we have been through. If you (or anyone) wanna hear our story, message me ;)
I am getting ready to buy the pony of my dreams!!! I've been riding him for 5 years and after LOTS of begging my parents said I could buy him <3 I have to buy everything for him BUT that's ok I've been saving up! Cool! I was just like you i have a pony now. He's a BIG HUGE TURD! He doesn't understand crap! Do it over and over again he forgets in a hour! I bet she is very well behaved and she is beautiful have fun with that horse you might not get another horse like her! Or a bond :)
@bb123699 Sable was like that for months! Try natural horsemanship with him if you haven't. It worked with Sable, but she still have her moments, every horse does :)

your story is very similar to mine. Years and years of begging and pleading. I took lessons and helped exersise young horses and everything but i wasnt complete without a horse to call my own. on sept. 16th 2011 i came home to find i was the owner of a 4 yr old trakner cross. I love him so much. hes a handful but soooo worth it. i hope to have a video of him up soon. =)))

i want a horse SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO badly ive been riding and caring for horses for almost three years now and since then ive been waiting for my parents to tell me to get in the car, take me to a horse farm and let me pick one out. dont think its ever gonna happen but im still hoping ive watched a lot of these "surprise horse" videos and it really irritates me that most of the people in the videos are little 5 yearb olds who want ponies but thats most likely just a phase
@animalsrule7867 Keep your hopes up always and Never give up. I have been taking lessons for 1 year and shareboarding 6 months. Leah the owner of my new shareboard gave me so much advice and became my best friend during the process. I found it alot easier with the support of a friend.
It took 1 week to convince my parents, another 1 week to find my first horse online and visit her and a lucky next monday morning to get my lesson teacher there for her oppinion......
we managed to get a vet there too to do a prepurchase check up. It all happened so fast sometimes it can take months but when I saw 'Claire' I knew she was it. The next day she was brought to her new home.
'Claire's name was changed of course to "Laces of Hope" or as we call her 'Lacey"
She is a paint/pony, 14.0 hands high, 10 years old and needed lots of love/attention shed been saved from slaughter so we had no history.But she was healthy and she loves her new home

I've been waiting for a horse since I was just a little 3 year old and my mom took me to the racetrack to see the Louisiana Derby ;) I took lessons for 5 years before I finally got my dream horse- keep working, keep waiting, and I promise if YOU want it bad enough, you'll get it. Nothing can stop you but your own mind!

@animalsrule7867 Keep hoping! It will happen one day, whether your parents make it happen or you make it happen. If you want it bad enough you eill continue to work hard and eventually get one. I know. Only in June was when i finally got a horse. I was at the barn that i take lessons at up to 3 times a week, helping my trainer shoe, train, excersise, groom, much out stalls, turn them out, lunge and finally my dream came true. You just have to be patient and one day..:))
@animalsrule7867 I know EXACTLY how you feel about that! I used to watch them too and think the same thing. But in a way I'm glad I didn't get a horse when I was that young because I probably would have taken owning a horse for granted and not truly know how amazing this gift is that God gave me :)

my teacher has a shetland named sable who is 4. I am schooling her. Today I got on her bareback with a halter and she bucked me off. I am fine AI landed on my feet lol I got on again and she took off with me but i rode the gallop wich is awesome. u do not realize how lucky u r for getting a horse. we qualify for food stamps =( i work off everything at the barn

@ponylover561able I worked full time for a couple of weeks while someone was on Christmas holiday and never spent any of the money from that :) But I was also 16 at the time and doing work experience there, so that's how I got the job. If you get an allowance or money for your birthday maybe save some of that and try not to use it unless you have to :)

I'm 15 and I'll turn 16 in about 2 months, I've wanted a horse since i was about 2 or 3. Since I live in town theres no way I could keep a horse at home but since I was 8 I've gone to hosre camp and this year I got a job working at the camp. The owner also boards horses so hopefully once I find the right horse we can make an arrangement. I currently have about $600 in my horse savings and I have 35 horse classifieds bookmarked on my computer.
@4everhaflingers Actully an amazing thing happened. I asked my mom what we would do for my sweet 16 and she asked me what I wanted. I said a horse of course. she asked me if I was serious (not in the 'i cant believe ur asking this' way) and i smiled and said yes. Then she said she wanted to talk to my boss and have a chat with what it means to own a horse and she asked me to make a list of costs. after i finished the costs she said maybe in spring we could get a horse :D I hope this works :DDDDD
unfortunitly for me I have been lucky enough to have leased extremely fancy beautiful ponies from my barn. It is time for a horse and I don't think there is a horse worht riding out there under idk... tens of thousands of bucks. Story of my life, but i lease a horse until next spring till i get one. my parents divorced and that when the chance to get my own horse came along. my mom is allergic so i can have one at my dads.

I waited 23 yrs to get a horse. one of my first words I ever spoke was "horsie!" And I had to wait untile I moved out, got financially stable and had the spare TIME and money to properly take care of a horse.
But man was it worth the wait. Pep is my everything, I love him so much.
Sometimes waiting to get a horse is better, you can appreciate it more as you get older...however, every horse deserves the love of a little girl.

@LisaSwagner I know you asked horseyluv28, but I feel that if you keep saving, and stay commited to this, your parents will realize how much you want your dreams to come true. Parents never want to see their child unhappy, and I know that. After me giving up on wanting so many animals, my parents didnt think I'd stay interested in a horse, but 2 years and 2 horses later, im still goin strong and getting an acerage of my own. Just keep at it, and good luck xxx

@acstify well they knows im cabible because every weekend i help out at a stables and they have like pony clubs and stuff and i help out at those and learn basic care and stuff and iv learned loads iv been there nearly a year now and they know if i did get one id love it with all my heart and putt 100% effot into careing and riding it .... and yeaah thank you for the comments :D

@TheHeatherGx Do you get an allowance from your mum or Dad? If you do maybe put like 50% of that away and save for a horse that way. If you do a lot of shopping to buy new clothes and stuff, maybe buy less clothes. I hardly ever buy clothes for myself. Hahaha :) Hope that helps :)

I got my first pony when I was 8or 9...but he was only 13.1hh and I grew out of him in 3ish years..I had to sell him in late july of 2010 :'( I miss him so much...
@katdool456 I got offered a casual job in a vet clinic for 2 weeks while someone was on holidays. I worked almost every day for about 5-8 hours. It was a while ago so I don't remember exactly how much I worked, I only remember I earnt roughly $500 for 2 weeks :)

I've been riding him for 5 years and after LOTS of begging my parents said I could buy him <3 I have to buy everything for him BUT that's ok I've been saving up! But seeing this made me so happy because after 5 years I can finally call Peter Pan MY pony <3 I love the video!!

@bb123699 Sable was like that for months! Try natural horsemanship with him if you haven't. It worked with Sable, but she still have her moments, every horse does :)

your story is very similar to mine. Years and years of begging and pleading. I took lessons and helped exersise young horses and everything but i wasnt complete without a horse to call my own. on sept. 16th 2011 i came home to find i was the owner of a 4 yr old trakner cross. I love him so much. hes a handful but soooo worth it. i hope to have a video of him up soon. =)))

i want a horse SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO badly ive been riding and caring for horses for almost three years now and since then ive been waiting for my parents to tell me to get in the car, take me to a horse farm and let me pick one out. dont think its ever gonna happen but im still hoping ive watched a lot of these "surprise horse" videos and it really irritates me that most of the people in the videos are little 5 yearb olds who want ponies but thats most likely just a phase

@animalsrule7867 Keep your hopes up always and Never give up. I have been taking lessons for 1 year and shareboarding 6 months. Leah the owner of my new shareboard gave me so much advice and became my best friend during the process. I found it alot easier with the support of a friend.
It took 1 week to convince my parents, another 1 week to find my first horse online and visit her and a lucky next monday morning to get my lesson teacher there for her oppinion......

we managed to get a vet there too to do a prepurchase check up. It all happened so fast sometimes it can take months but when I saw 'Claire' I knew she was it. The next day she was brought to her new home.
'Claire's name was changed of course to "Laces of Hope" or as we call her 'Lacey"
She is a paint/pony, 14.0 hands high, 10 years old and needed lots of love/attention shed been saved from slaughter so we had no history.But she was healthy and she loves her new home

@animalsrule7867 Keep hoping! It will happen one day, whether your parents make it happen or you make it happen. If you want it bad enough you eill continue to work hard and eventually get one. I know. Only in June was when i finally got a horse. I was at the barn that i take lessons at up to 3 times a week, helping my trainer shoe, train, excersise, groom, much out stalls, turn them out, lunge and finally my dream came true. You just have to be patient and one day..:))

my teacher has a shetland named sable who is 4. I am schooling her. Today I got on her bareback with a halter and she bucked me off. I am fine AI landed on my feet lol I got on again and she took off with me but i rode the gallop wich is awesome. u do not realize how lucky u r for getting a horse. we qualify for food stamps =( i work off everything at the barn

@ponylover561able I worked full time for a couple of weeks while someone was on Christmas holiday and never spent any of the money from that :) But I was also 16 at the time and doing work experience there, so that's how I got the job. If you get an allowance or money for your birthday maybe save some of that and try not to use it unless you have to :)

I'm 15 and I'll turn 16 in about 2 months, I've wanted a horse since i was about 2 or 3. Since I live in town theres no way I could keep a horse at home but since I was 8 I've gone to hosre camp and this year I got a job working at the camp. The owner also boards horses so hopefully once I find the right horse we can make an arrangement. I currently have about $600 in my horse savings and I have 35 horse classifieds bookmarked on my computer.

@4everhaflingers Actully an amazing thing happened. I asked my mom what we would do for my sweet 16 and she asked me what I wanted. I said a horse of course. she asked me if I was serious (not in the 'i cant believe ur asking this' way) and i smiled and said yes. Then she said she wanted to talk to my boss and have a chat with what it means to own a horse and she asked me to make a list of costs. after i finished the costs she said maybe in spring we could get a horse :D I hope this works :DDDDD

unfortunitly for me I have been lucky enough to have leased extremely fancy beautiful ponies from my barn. It is time for a horse and I don't think there is a horse worht riding out there under idk... tens of thousands of bucks. I'm 13 and i don't think i'll be making that anytime soon. we're trying to work things out but I'm not sure it will work...

i recently... required an amaizing quarter horse mare :) shes pretty much my life, im so happy for you that you had the chance to have your own horse it took me just about as long at it took you to get misty, but im glad i was so persistent :) shes getting bred this week to an AWSOME stud in vancouver :) my fingers are crossed that she'll get pregnant!! i keep thinking about a little minni misty running around!!

I waited 23 yrs to get a horse. one of my first words I ever spoke was "horsie!" And I had to wait untile I moved out, got financially stable and had the spare TIME and money to properly take care of a horse.
But man was it worth the wait. Pep is my everything, I love him so much.
Sometimes waiting to get a horse is better, you can appreciate it more as you get older...however, every horse deserves the love of a little girl.

@LisaSwagner I know you asked horseyluv28, but I feel that if you keep saving, and stay commited to this, your parents will realize how much you want your dreams to come true. Parents never want to see their child unhappy, and I know that. After me giving up on wanting so many animals, my parents didnt think I'd stay interested in a horse, but 2 years and 2 horses later, im still goin strong and getting an acerage of my own. I already know I willbe getting a horse (We moved to a lil 10 acre farm) & My Poppy said we'd get me a horse (But that will be awhile now since he got real "sick" back in the end of Sept2010) But Yeah..Im back to taking lessons :) All my life I'd always say "Poppy,Can I get a horse soon?" @TheHeatherGx Do you get an allowance from your mum or Dad? If you do maybe put like 50% of that away and save for a horse that way. If you do a lot of shopping to buy new clothes and stuff, maybe buy less clothes. I hardly ever buy clothes for myself. Hahaha :) Hope that helps :)

@katdool456 I got offered a casual job in a vet clinic for 2 weeks while someone was on holidays. I worked almost every day for about 5-8 hours. It was a while ago so I don't remember exactly how much I worked, I only remember I earnt roughly $500 for 2 weeks :)

@kristian0gallops My Mom says the same thing. Have you ever thought about loaning?? You pay for some of the things for the horse but not all. The real owner of the horse pays for somethings :)

i am always begging my mom for a horse... but the answer is no.. i have over 200 dollars saved up but i can't find any horses for that price....... it sucks...

that sounds just like my story. I would always ask for a horse or pony for my birthday or christmas for every year until i was 11. I knew there was no way i could get one. One day after school (november 2009) my dad asked me randomly if i wanted one. :D i was so excited because he was serious. We was looking for a while and in december i found a bay QH mare from HHT (Horse Haven Of Tennessee) ^.^ Ive had her for a year now. got her Jan. 18th 2010

wow sounds alot like my story but a little differant mine is i done lessons since i was seven. but im also Over 50% blind,i alost bought it was like yoru story. I Beggeid for years on end Mum can i getr a horse ? no no Mum: naomi why dont u just save up for a hrose and get one yoruself I WAS SO EXCITED. so i looke don th enet and found Ellie this happend maybe not twe weks ago after i rode her i was in LOve with her but yeah cant afford to keep her :(
