  • That's a fantastic video Greg! Please tell me your camera was on the end of a very long tripod! Chasing a Brown Snake around like that, you're braver than me!

The other day I put my camera on a tripod and waved it around just a foot above a Tiger, and all it did was just lay there looking at me, thinking "you're an idiot". It waited until I was out of sight for a moment then slipped quietly into its den. So I didn't exactly get the spectacular video I was hoping for, but this one's great!

  • wow

  • Totally unafraid to make a go at you, so confident in it's ability to kill! You blokes have some real lightning bolts down there!

  • you could have easily been attacked. smart.

  • Great video. What all of the punters seem to miss is that the instant you move away from the snake it carries on doing what it wants to do - go the other away. It only comes after you after you've stepped towards it, because it feels threatened.

  • @crocdoc2 I thought that was pretty clear, I sort of mentioned it in the description. Obviously lots of people still don't get it. Leave a snake alone and you have nothing to worry about.

  • @pseudechis people hate what they fear and they fear what they don't understand.

  • laugh u tripd

  • You're crazy!!

  • These have the 9th most deadly venom of any snake in the world and are one of the fastest striking snakes. I used to live in the Western Australian wheatbelt and they are very common there.......I'd be leaving it alone!!!!!!!!

  • The only beauty I see from these snakes is when they are laying dead on the ground after a severe beating with a shovel. I'd rather a dead snake then a dead child.

  • @soup1223 No human is as important as an innocent snake for all humans are non-innocent and all children will one day become non-innocent.Don't use the emotion of children to kill innocent creatures. I feel sorry for the earth and all of it's creatures having the disease called humans walk amongst it.MISANTHROPY FOREVER!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @soup1223 Aside from my anti-human mindset,i do understand and appreciate that humans want to protect there species as do all forms of life.My issue is with ''innocent vs non-innocent'' and humans are definitely not innocent (we are doomed from the day we are born in that respect). I think innocence far outweighs the hate, egotism, selfishness, pride ect ect of the everyday human. That is why i refuse to kill anything innocent.

  • @soup1223 Just to be honest,i have contradicted myself.Let me explain. You would kill a snake for survival(if threatening you).I would kill and eat an animal for survival.I guess there is no difference +i eat animals all the time ha ha .It still dose not take away the fact that humans are no good.

  • @soup1223 hope i don't sound to neurotic

  • Comment removed

  • @soup1223

can understand completely. I treat dogs the same way, afterall they kill far more children than snakes do here I oz! Just can't take the risk having dogs around anywhere there's people, especially kids.

  • @pseudechis

There is little comparison between mans best friend and snakes! I don't think you will win that battle. I agree with soup1223; when a snake crosses my path, I always kill it. Also, I would like to see the scientific data to back up your claim. What would you rather be bitten by...a brown or a nip from an excited lab? Yeah, me too....

  • @chadley6916 A nip from a labrador no worries, but i wouldn't want me scalp peeled off like the poor little girl in the paper today or be one of the 11 people killed by dogs here in a 6 year period. Get your facts right! and by the way I love dogs, just trying to throw some logic into the discussion!

  • @pseudechis

If you are trying to "throw some logic into the discussion," comparing dogs to snakes is maybe not the best approach! Sounds to me like you need to do some more research...

  • @pseudechis That Dog jumped over a fence, so obviously the inclosure wasn't secure.

  • @AustOpinion55 just goes to show that dog went out of it's way to attack someone. In all I my experience with snakes, i've never known one to do that!

  • @pseudechis You again muppet, Like I've already pointed out there that's all wrong. You talk shit. Write back agin I don't care, ur a muppet. Venomous Snakes that kill you in 8 minutes, are more dangerous than Dogs. That if trained propley & supervised around young kids there fine. You idiot.

  • @AustOpinion55...... there's no doubting who the Gonzo is here! Your comments on other channels confirm that it is not just snakes and dogs that you are ill informed about. Perhaps your area of expertise is the muppets...I'll leave you to it.

  • @pseudechis What are you on about, Dogs hardly ever kill anyone, ''Next to never''. Learn how to act around Dogs you idiot.

  • @AustOpinion55 snakes kill ~2 people in Australia each year. By far the majority of people bitten are those who try to kill or catch the snake. Snakes only bite if they feel threatened. You will find dogs kill more people in Australia and some dogs will go out of their way to attack....read the papers for kids and elderly killed by dogs. You can walk away from any snake and it will leave you alone, unfortunately the same can't be said for many dogs! By the way, I like most dogs!

  • @pseudechis You can't walk away from a Snake you should wait till goes away, they don't like movement. If a dog kills a kids its usually the parents fault for leaving a Toddler alone with a Dog. A lot of people have died from Snakes over the year's, they are everywhere. If you step on the by accident which happens a lot they can kill you.

We should kill all of the venomous Snakes & replace them with non venomous Snakes. That way u keep down Mice & things like that.

  • @AustOpinion55 using your reasoning: "A lot of people have died from cars over the years, they are everywhere. If you step in front of them by accident which happens a lot they can kill you"

Yes just replace the venomous ones with the harmless ones that is a great idea.....that would be a great subject for your next PhD in ecology. Let me know when your thesis is complete, would be a great read!

  • @pseudechis People driving Cars know there not hit people, Snakes don't. & if u use common sense u wont get hit by a car, which is the main reason why people get hit, by not using it.

Venomous Snakes & non venomous Snakes have the same diet, it would work. Your not too logical.

  • @AustOpinion55 you really should be on the comedy channel!

  • @pseudechis Who is going to miss a animal that are everywhere, that if you accidently step you them they can ''Kill'' you. Not me.

  • @AustOpinion55 what about horses? do you think we should kill them as well..they alone kill more people than snakes. And bees...yes the common garden variety bee is responsible for a lot more deaths than snakes in australia. Lets get rid of them all....and then watch our agricultural system collapse!!

  • @pseudechis I never heard of anyone dying from a Horse attack, it never happens. And Bee's hardly ever kill Humans, & I doubt it is more than Snakes, your full of shit. If you read what I said, I said we should kill all of the venomous Snakes & ''Replace'' them with none venomous Snakes. So that wouldn't happen, learn how to read.

  • @pseudechis Non Venomous

  • @pseudechis Down

  • @AustOpinion55 and you learn how to act around snakes!

  • @AustOpinion55 11 people in 6 years and just today a young girl has had her scalp ripped off. I know how to act around dogs. It's the odd one that goes out of its way to attack you that is the problem. I've never been "attacked" by a snake unless I've first provoked it, so the "attack" is really just self defence. Use some commonsense!

  • @pseudechis You again, your stats like their true. As I've already stated its a parents responsbilty to take care of young children around Dogs. & ur taking shit again, Snakes will attack sometimes if ur standing still because they scared.

What you said had no facts. You should be in adult literati class.

  • @AustOpinion55 11 people in 6 years in Australia is hardly next to never! In the US I think it was around 234 people.

  • @soup1223 Shoot em, don't use a shovel they'll bite you.

  • @AustOpinion55 Great idea....I met a farmer the other day who shot a snake many years ago. At the time his wife was a couple of hundred metres away and she felt a slight sting in her hand and looked down to see a spot of blood. She wonderered if the bullet had ricocheted but ignored it. Years later when she broke her wrist and they took an xray and found a bullet!

  • @pseudechis & the point story was. How did he shoot his Wife is she was 100's of meters away. He was a retard, if it is true at all.

  • Snakes are beautiful creatures, they only ever attack when threatened... You're quite lucky you didn't slip on that gravel when running backwards though!

  • you idiot!

  • Comment removed

  • that things fukn fast

  • Lucky you didn't trip over a log or some shit like that...that second lunge at you would have made me shit my pants...I've come across a few in my time but wouldn't have the balls to do what you did...

  • lol, ur just pissing off the snake man, knock it off ;D

  • This is funny. Thanks, I enjoyed it. I wouldn't do that. I'm not deft enough. Besides, we don't have snakes in North America that will behave quite like that so it never occured to me to try.

  • You sir, have giant balls. Do you carry them in a wheel barrow?

  • it's a nasty piece isn't it

  • @mik301080 wouldn't you be nasty if someone was harassing you continually. Watch the video, everytime I back off it tries to get away! That is not what I'd cll aggressive!

  • Comment removed

  • @H114192 you're in luck, there are no poisonous snakes, anywhere. You can eat pretty much any species without so much as a stomach ache.

There are a number of venomous snakes, though.

  • You have BALLS. Big fucking gonads. CAZONES!

  • Comment removed

  • @H114192

Why??...left alone it's not doing anyone any harm.

By the way...a bustard is a type of bird, not a snake!

  • @pseudechis stupid idiot, there's too many f htese bastard snakes in Oz. get rid of them,

  • @pseudechis haha, I saw that bustard comment and immediately thought "wait, there's no bustard in that clip, just a snake!"

  • @H114192 You retard.

  • obviously most of you are too retarded to get the point of him trying to show you that snakes will only try and bite you if you hassle them.

  • that must have been the most stupid and dumbest thing i have ever seen

  • you are the most retarded person i have ever seen.

  • Didn't you get the hint when it struck the first time?

  • I wish you had been bit

  • Brown just killed my dog. What the F!@# are you doing lol. Snakes can move faster than you. It's only a matter of time before you're bitten.

  • and then i shit in my pants lol i would of crapped myself, if i see a snake id walk 100 maybe 200m away just to be safe :P

  • Fuck me. this is the best video, made my day... i cannot stop laughing at this hahaha

  • Good thing you didn't fall going backwards. A bite would probably have happened b/c it looked ticked.

  • Guys calm down he's just showing y why not to follow them

  • fuck that your asking for trouble lol

  • mambas are even faster than this

  • i hate snakes....but you deserved to be bitten for annoying it like that.

  • All the twat with the camera had to do was to fall over backwards whilst he was bothering the snake.........

  • @PenzancePete yeah, good point.

  • Arnt brown snakes highly toxic or am i thinking of another species of brown snakes?

  • @MrSyntheticDesign There venom contains Neurotoxins, Nephrotoxins and a Procoagulant. A bite can be a little nasty causing anything from a Headaches, Stomach pains/Vomiting, Severe Coagulopathy, and Possible Kidney damage. In smaller animals it can cause Paralysis, So you shouldn't let your pets around them either.

  • Another future candidate for a Darwin Award.

  • DUMB FUCKING AASSSS

  • Im sorry he didnt bite you you idiot

  • Uh... that is SCARY.

  • !!!! when i was mowing ly lawn to day i saw a baby brown snake i was like DAD snake come kill it !!!!!!!

  • @familyguymanful

What you should have said was " dad, grab mum and the camera and come and have a look at this beautiful little snake....perhaps we'll mow the lawn later when the snake has moved on"!

What would you think if I said "there's a doberman walking down the street, quick bring a shotgun" and reality is you are much more at risk from the dog than the snake!!

  • @pseudechis Mowing the lawn will kill far more stuff than a snake. Dogs can be excleent loyal and safe pets, so just use humans of some religious or ethnic group in future please they fuck far more kids than any dog breed.

  • @pseudechis

Could not have said it better mate!

What a beautiful specimen and outstanding camera work. I caught my wild first red belly the other day( with first aid kit and wires snake handler near by) and relocated it to the bush at work. People dont realise in suburbia they would walk past snakes every year and wouldn't have a clue, there not here to hurt us they dont even interested to confrontation with us.

  • @hortish

congratulations on your first red belly. They really are beautiful animals.....a great sight in the bush or suburbia!

  • @pseudechis shut up fag, it would kill him, there dangerous

  • @pseudechis yeah, this venomous snake charging at the cameraperson with it's mouth open really looks like he is harmless. WTF is wrong with your mind?

  • amaizing !!!!!

    so fast!!

  • kill it!

  • @themrjohnl What type of moronic comment is that! I thought it was pretty clear that I am the aggressor and not the snake. It only has a go at me when I keep pursuing it! Leave snakes alone and they will leave you alone!

  • Thats one quick snake, buggered if i would get that close.

  • I felt scared watching this. I can't even imagine how you felt.

  • this is one of the most retarded guys i have ever seen on youtube

  • 2 words best describe these snakes "fucken psyco". i had one in my shed today and he was rather pissed off. first of many for the season i supose.

  • are you fucking dum!

  • that shit is hilarous, how he runns backwards and keeps the camera on the snake...hahahaha

  • Nice footage, good example on how all snakes will first try to get away, but if they think they may not be able to get away, they will defend themselves vigorously. nothing cowardly about that snake :)

  • He tried to go the other way, after you gave him no choice...I think he meant business..like "maybe I will just kill him so he wont EVER give me trouble again" lol

  • Omg man, if u tripped over a rock or a branch or something...that thing could have tagged u several times and u have been pretty much fucked.

  • i am sorry he did not byte you !

  • @cozacalex your spelling indicates you spend too much time with computers! but thanks for watching

  • @cozacalex

Message to greg. The video has some value. But please watch 'Snake Whisperer Episode 10 King of the Kimberley' before anyone decides snakes are nasty and crazy

  • no enfence, but that was a really stupied thing to do.

  • @MarcThomass14 ...agreed; but it made for some great footage!

  • @pseudechis

How did you sleep that night :-)

Seems they are out already due to the mouse plague in Victoria.

  • Were you looking through the view finder while running backwards? Tell me you had the camera on a stick !

  • @rogbec01 Do you think I had time to frame it in the viewfinder as well?....no just set to wide angle, point and shoot and hope for the best. No stick... a couple of times it was too close! Thanks for commenting

  • Wow, where was this, is this also called a dugitr or king brown? Never seen a snake chase like that

  • @rogbec01 No, not a Dugite or a King Brown. It's called a Western Brown Snake although in WA it is more commonly known as a Gwardar

  • @pseudechis Ive not seen a Gwardar like that, the ones Ive seen have different colours, generally dark head, but i do know that they change quite a bit. It was freaky footage, It was a toey snake, obviously nice and warm, and quick! I have had tiger snakes do the same, when feeling threatened, but only seen them rear up, flatten out their head and have a strike, before quickly fleeing, never seen a chase for such a long distance like that! I mean he really wanted to tag you!

  • Nice reflects

  • i was like amazing then OH CRAP!

  • They're that fast (Oc_O) Damn nature you SCARY!!

  • man, to heck with natgeo. Youtube natural is way better. That

brown followed you a long way a couple of times. That thing

WILL chase, you have proof, a man if he _ucks with him.

Thanks for the entertainment and risking your life for youtubers.

    Cheers from the states.

  • 1:06 shit almost bit u

  • I was hoping you didnt trip over when you where running

  • try that with a eastern brown you wont get that close

  • @rohan9376 yep...looking forward to spring down here in Vic and getting some more eastern brown footage. Did you see the vid of the quiet eastern brown?

  • @pseudechis no i didnt see footage , however with the sun shining few are coming out , i had some timber wrapped in plastic in the yard , heard a russle under the plastic , thought it was a lizard ,so went to investigate , woops , tiger he or she wasnt impressed , tossed some food out near were i saw it , out it came this morning he he

  • 0:48 it looks scary

  • Christ fella you are braver than me! sHEEHS they bloody savage things LOL

  • @whysohardto not savage at all.....any chance it had to get away it tried....I wouldn't say that was savage or aggressive...purely defensive

  • @pseudechis Really? Interesting. I thought they were an aggressive breed

  • Not necessary wise, but i love it. Mate you have balls to do that

  • WDFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

  • sik video you crazy bastard!

  • sik video you crazy bastard!!

  • DUMM!!!

  • @ToffelChris To which we say, DUMB!

  • I hate to say it but that was not the smartest thing to do. Taipan's pack some serious venom.

  • @Shyguyx12 No worries mate, this is a Brown Snake - Venom considerably more toxic than a Taipan!

  • @MGoose66 Opps sorry about that, still not a smart thing to do.

  • feeeets dont fail me now......................thats was some great two steppin

  • Holy fucken bat shit dam lucky you didnt get bit, some great footage tho how u kept camera on it while running backwards is amazing you should work for discovery channel or something!

  • Did the snake make a hood, cobra style? I thought he did but it's hard to tell.

I've heard of American cottonmouth snakes doing this sort of thing (where they "chase" you when they feel threatened).

I was impressed by how you were able to hold the video camera in place while backing away.

People who think you should murder snakes are pathetic cowards.

  • lol i have a hard time watching this, the whole time im thinkin "leave the fucking thing alone", kudos to you my man, your balls are officially bigger than mine

  • it is a cobra dot fool me

  • I'm australian and my brother has been bitten doing the same thing. People who do this are dumbshit

  • I do believe I have found a new recipient for the Daily Dumbass award.

  • you are complete fucking moron. would not have felt bad one bit if he had bitten you. you would have deserved it. best thing would have been a shotgun to that thing, not a video camera.

  • @idahochas -- Why a shotgun? I reckon you're the fucking moron mate, just because you don't understand something, or are scared of it, doesn't mean it has to die.. It's in its own habitat; not bothering humans or livestock, so why kill it?

  • @1808546 exactly... thankyou

  • @1808546 well spoken , i leave them alone , but you must remember the location in your yard were they live , or else you will get a nasty fright . leave them be i say , before i work in my yard i stamp my feet lots of noise, so they know i am around ,and wont get spooked , most people get bitten while trying to kill them , those eastern browns are a bugger however they are just so quick ,you get a bite above the waist you are history

  • @idahochas thanks for you valuable contribution. I agree that had I been bitten it would have been entirely my own fault. The video clearly shows the snake prefers to retreat given half a chance.

As for your other comments, all I can say is I pity the species of snake that's named after you.....there really is one and it's called a Red-necked Keelback (Rhabdophis subminiatus)

  • @pseudechis thank you for giving other people the "bright" idea to go chase down venomous snakes. really shows your intellegence. but, i wouldnt expect too much from an australian anyway. and yes, i'd shoot every last one of them i saw. proud to be a redneck too. an actual edumacated one at that. so, what should that be referred to then? fosters....australian for this is the best thing we could come up with. ha ha ha.

  • @pseudechis Some idiot hunter:Gimme my shot gun!I wanna kill that (actually, very useful and beautiful) snake!

Soon.. I gotmy bullets!Lets shoot him!

AHh he beat me (bad accuracy as venom is taking effect)

    *accidently shoots own head*

  • @pseudechis So let me get this straight....Some guy is a moron, according to you, because he doesn't understand snakes. Instead of being a teacher and encouraging him to think differently, you insult him and call him a racial slur? Are you just afraid of rural white people and that's why you insult them?

  • @MrByronio get your facts rightI I never called anyone a moron and would not belittle anyone for not understanding something. idahochas first used the term in their insulting, uneducated post. Their first reaction was not to leave the snake alone (which I can well understand), but to shoot it and every other last one. If that doesn't spell REDNECK you are using a different dictionary to me

  • @pseudechis ...or you could get your facts straight, nobody said to shoot "every last one." The point is, you are generalizing about rednecks the same way you accuse him of generalizing about snakes. "Redneck" is a derogatory racial slur and it's not appreciated.

  • @MrByronio I've got my facts straight.....quoting idahochas... "an australian anyway. and yes, i'd shoot EVERY LAST ONE of them i saw. proud to be a redneck too. an actual edumacated one at that."

    Again check your facts.

Redneck may be derogatory but it's definately not a racial slur!

  • @pseudechis What race of people would you call a redneck besides white?

  • Comment removed

  • @idahochas A shotgun? You're the fucking moron.

  • @idahochas You said it exactly right.

  • Hihi that would be funny.

  • He Payed The snake to be little slow , and he pays the filming :)) Thumb's Up if u think that xDDD

  • This video makes them look so similar to the Black Mamba. Fast, close color, and when he chased you with his mouth open his mouth looked black. Cool video.

  • that's brave were you wearing snake boots?

  • Hey I like your vid, top stuff!

  • Good footage, mate; fine demonstration and best advice.

  • Foolish - as far as "Kill that snake" comments all snakes in Australia are protected and in this State (Qld) the fine can be as high as $225,000.00 and thats a lot of bucks.

Wise people look where they step and let the snake go on it's way

  • Is it so funny to play with death ? I am still really impress by human race , still most stupid on earth ..

  • what if the snake was faster YOU dont kow that

  • dude ur fucking brave!

  • you are a quick man...but if u bitten by the snake you will be the slowest person in the world.....

  • your quick man

  • ...that snake went from "leave me alone yor annoying" to "thats it im biting yor ass!"...

  • Kill that snake! Get a weed whacker or a matchete.

  • @john17972 That's how a lot of people get bitten doing stupid things like that. Best to go your way and let it go its way. Snakes don't chase people down to bit them, it typically people doing things to them that cause bites. Besides snakes do a great service to humans by controling the rodent population and promising research that shows certain proteins in many snake venoms to be highly effective in killing cancer cells.

  • @john17972 y dont we kill u!!

  • @kolombi88 Why don't you?

  • Thats crazy dude its amazing your not six feet underground. The snake just wanted to get away from you but you had to invade his personal space. If you keep doing this, you will eventually get bitten and die a painful death.

  • You know that thing could kill you, right?

  • that lil bugger is fast omfg.

  • Great vid Greg, love it

  • snake: what the fuck u want!!!!!

  • lol all i was thinking was trip trip trip!!
