if they were humans the wolf would back off after a while knowing he'd get his ass kicked, and let the bears go bout their business.
But as they're not when the predator sets its eyes on its prey; blood spilling is inevitable
moral is:
Intellect may separate us from other species. But fear is very much overlooked. I.E. when is the last time you had a fight and tried to stop the other guy from punching you.
Why do you think we build nucleur weapons so we can destroy the enemy without getting hurt
I don't think the wolf is playing. I think the animal is preying ferociously on these two cubs. It's a good thing the momma is there. She looks small though. If she survives another couple of years I'm sure nothing will be messing with her
The Wolf was trying to separate a cub from his Mom to a long distance and finish him off..the cub was smart enough not to chase the wolf beyond a limit..the Mom was not bothered about the single wolf but was bothered as she knows that wolves are known to be in packs and was worrying about the safety of the cubs...
sure if the pack were there they might be able to pick off the cubs. but going against a mother bear they would lose quite a few wolves before even wounding her. not a risk im sure they want to take. its a bear. bear > wolf. in size and power.
From watching this video, the wolf truly, is Not a threat. At first the Momma felt threatened and even the cubs were scared. Later on, I noticed that she appeared more relaxed and more annoyed than anything else and by the Wolf's body language, it really wasn't trying to hurt the cubs. It just wanted to play^_^ That is until Momma had enough lol
gray alpha male could out the two cubs, but not the mother bear, still too big. Hell, I think a Male Cougar would do in an alpha male pretty good, maybe a 110 lb or so one. A huge male wolf at 145+? I might reconsider.
A bear cub is an easy target for a lone wolf. The ONLY time a lone wolf could kill a bear. And the wolf isn't playing, he wants those cubs. Less competition for food if those cubs don't grow up.
Wow what an amazing aspect of communication of wild animals...i dont know if people notice or not, but the bear is training the cubs on how to fight an attacker
little bears told papa bear the wolf wanted to play. Papa bear told little bears the last time Wolf came around Papa pig and little pigs they were never seen again.
That is a smaller sized grizzly, afull grown maile grizzly can fight off 10 wolves if it had the blood lust for it, and also the bear had babies and didnt want them to get hurt if she were to fight th wolf for no reason, the bears had gotten to eat already
@xTRUCKDRIVERx are you stupi a bear cant take on 10 not even 3 because when in packs wolves bite and run over and over until bear dies of wounds or blood loss, usually takes hours or days but wolves will stay near by and continue attacking. 2 wolves can kill a full grown bear.
The funny thing is the Tag given to this video. Morons, that isn't a Grizzly, it's a black bear and her cubs. Look at the size of the Mother and the wolf, they're practically the same. A grizzly would tower over that wolf. My cousin is a ranger at this park and 90% of the bears in that territory are black she said. As for the wolf, it's definitely a loner, but still using tactics to get some fresh meat I believe. Later
wolf means sneaky.smart.his tail was shaking like he was playing.baby bears were smart not to go too far.wolf wasnt playing at all.2 wolves would get the baby
This wolf knows exactly what it's doing. As mentioned by Gerhard, the wolf is trying to seperrate the mother from the cubs.
Wolfs, as most predators, seem to looks playful when hunting. This is basicly because the animals get excited and use the same gestures as when playing.
Sorry folks but this wolf was not playing. It was trying to draw one or the other cub away from it's mother....probably to the trees where the rest of the pack was hiding/waiting...this is a common tactic wolves use to kill dogs. One wold will come out to either tempt the dog to play or defend it's home/territory, then when in the trees the pack attacks.
i agree with you ton everything but the he was serious part. The wolf was eating alone at the beginning of the vid, which means he/she is probably a loner and doesnt have a pack. Which is probably why it was trying to play with the bears, because it possibly could of been lonely
the wolf is trying to draw the cub/s away from the mother, into the trees where it/they will become food. This my friends is deadly serious, wolves are not "playfull" with prey. The mother bear is clearly worried.
thats the case with most wolves, but i think one is maybe a stray. it could have just strayed away from the pack or maybe it lost a fight to another alpha and was cast off. This would be why its trying to play because it has no company, this is just my opinion though you might be right
justice you're a cool person. hahahaha. you try to find good in animals. I kinda believe it's desire to play too because why would a lone wolf try to take on a bear when it's clear he's already had his share of food. I mean packs of wolves are known to back down to bears, cougars or even wolverines.
Wolfs playing around with grizzly. Several signs. One a wolf wouldn't take on a grizzly alone for no reason. Two if it wanted to really attack it would have also called the pack. If it was really scared it would have called the pack and ran. The wolf knows the grizzly can go only but so far from its babies lol.
Though wolves and dogs differ greatly, when it comes right down to it they are the same animals. It is almost completely obvious that wolf was having the time of his life.
Wolf-grizzly interactions are very interesting. Anyone interested can do google searches and find some articles.
-Wolf packs occasionally kill cubs and even adult female grizzlies. The wolf here though looked like it was playing (dogs initiate play with each other by jumping and landing with their legs far in front and their head lowered....perhaps I didn't describe it well, but you could see the wolf do that several times here).
what the wolf try to do is o lure 1 of the kids away for a snack and if not get the mother out of balance, wolf is the smartest preditor in world.. although bear are raw muscle and claws a fight with a bear can be fatal but this looks like a older male and he knows hes shit
