  • sorry but The original is one hundred times better by the congregation

  • hry senorkaboom i remember i once found the old one off limewire...it wasnt jus intrumental tho it had vocals but was still the old one

  • @drummerchick20 This was a pure instrumental version. I remember calling the station to get the artist name and was told it was just a British release. I guess not availoable here in US.

  • I wish I could find the instrumental version done in the 70's. We had an easy listening station that played the version and it was exceptional.

  • @senorkaboom I too, remember that beautiful instrumental version. I used to listen to it on our easy listening station back in the 1980's. The station is long gone. "Softly Whispering I Love You", is such a beautiful piece, especially the instrumental version. It's almost joyous!

  • @Jill0704USA Nice to know someone remembers that era of easy listening music. Fortunately on my Sirius radio they have an easy listening station, a nice break from the stuff of today.

  • ``` softening the chill of the breeze .. through my window .. painting silver shadows on a rose colored land

  • this is a nice one played this at my mums funeral

  • This version is by Paul Young - but not a patch on the original by the Congregation.

  • Nicely sung but nowhere near as good as the original one by the Congregation in 1971.

  • dnt think im being rude wif dis opinion ur opinion was that u liked the other version my opinion is that the old version of it was like hearing nails on a chalkboard lol sorry

  • The original song "Softly whispering I love you" was ten times better than this one.

  • i agree it was by the congregation, but i cant find it

  • not sure on this but was it by the new english congregation.

thats the only version i can find on internet and it sounds like the original.

  • Okay guys I see you need some help on this. The hit version was by the UK group The Congregation featuring Alan Parker from (Blue Mink) and Brain Keith. BUT the original was release Back in 1968 by the original songwriters Cook & Greenaway under the alias of David & Jonathan (Lovers of the World Unite).

  • thanks for that babe, hope you are a woman.

allways wanted to find out about this song.

  • In the UK the group was known just as The Congregation. For the american market they were know as The English Congregation. The reason for the change? There was also a group known as Mike Curb Congregation. Funny enoght they too also released the song.
