The USS Eldridge was given to the Greek Goverment in 1976 or 1979 i dont remember well...They still use it as a scout ship in Greece and its name now is Leon if i remember well :S....

As for what happened? I believe that the Navy was seeking what would be considered a primitive stealth capability acquired by the bending of light rays using artificial magnetic fields.
