Every one should have a chance to work with someone like this guy just a month of their life would prepare them for home ownership and the maintenance involved! Excellent vids.
@bigbadblue4u Basically you will need to use a small hammerdrill w/ a concrete bit and first hold the J channel in place and drill through it into the bricks. You can then insert plastic anchors (the same type of anchor you would use on drywall) and screw screws into them. The size of anchor depends on the size of screws you use. Be careful not to crack the bricks or rattle them loose. Sometimes anchoring into the mortar between the bricks works better. This job is a little tougher but is doable
@HouseImprovements The house I'm currently doing soffit repairs on has a 2 x 4 screwed to the house for a ledger board which has J-channel attached to it. Hope this helps.
Thank you very much for the video. Great job.

Good job. I like the look of the gable corner by bringing the J channel down 90 degrees. It looks less bulky than building a box in the corner.

you should have bulit a box in that corner :-\ that looks ugly but thats just my opinion

You screw The J channel into wood with scres I noticed, however How should I fasten the J Channel to bricks that are already on the house?
bigbadblue4u 4 months ago
Never mind stupid question I looked at my soffit and saw I had a wood plate on it for me to screw it in.
