petty should have left it be..all that tinkering by adding "the picks" backing vocals (and all the other tracks) took away some of the real buddy sound.

His wife Maria Elena continued to battle for Buddys money and she was eventually given $35,000 dollars, which Pettys records showed him owing Buddy for royalties. Its widely believed that this was a lot less than he was really owed, but nonetheless, it would have prevented him travelling on the Winter dance Party and being killed. Petty sold Buddys music to Paul McCartney in 1975.Ironically Norman Petty died on 15th August 1984, Buddys 26th Wedding Anniversary!
