@stompafly you draw that conclusion because he has a mexican sounding last name.........you are obvioulsy unaware of the other 15 spanish speaking countries around the world......
Martin's real name is Ramon Estevez. Charlie is really Carlos Estevez. Martin's father was from Spain and his mother was from Ireland. So he is as Irish as he is Spanish. Sheen is only a stage name.
It annoys me that a lot of people think that everyone with a Spanish name is Mexican. No one in his family looks Mexican.
I must've heard the "what are you thinking" joke about 20 times and every time it's funnier - especially when Martin Sheen is almost in tears laughing. Classic.
I am rewatching all the seasons of the West Wing now. One of the best political dramas ever. Sheen is an amazing actor and he seems like a very funny and nice man as well. He also aged very well, but he was very attractive in his younger days: much better looking than his sons when he was about their age.
Martin Sheen is so altruistic and genuine, its awe-inspiring. Thank you niam, for putting this up so those of us who may have missed it can see it and others can enjoy it again :)!
Catch Martin Sheen in a film called "That Championship Season" from 1982. Great cast. Great acting. With Bruce Dern, Stacey Keach and Robert Mitchum ...oh, and Paul Sorvino.
martian sheen was arrested many times for protest related things in the 60's and 70's and that (even excluding his many great acting roles) makes him a treasure here in america...imo he is one of the only "celebs" that has a right to talk politics here because he went thru the times when speaking out meant a beating from the police and on some occasions even death by the national guard
He still commits civil disobedience. I've been part of two CD actions he did several years ago. He gave us a great pep talk before one of those actions at a nuclear weapons research facility. Talked about how it's always scary to commit civil disobedience, and that if it's not scary, then you need to reconsider what you're doing and why. At that point he'd been arrested 60+ times. Some of my colleagues got him to autograph their plastic handcuffs!
I love to listen to what Martin Sheen says about marriage-what a lovely man. Graham Norton always seems able to bring out the best in his guests-and everyone has a good time.Graham is a brilliant chat show host IMHO!! Much nicer than others I could mention...
No that is not true. Many celebrities have discussed their hatred of Bush and other politicians openly on American television, even on daytime tv. The only thing they cannot do is use swear words while they do so.

The man was born in the US. Makes him American you see?
I called Al Pacino an Italian once and was shot down by Americans for doing so.
So let's be clear, this man was born in America, which makes him American by nationality.
Let's go by that shall we? Good.
